1960's -70's was a 20 year span of Magical Music. It is only 50 years later that those of us who lived it are realizing just how magical that era was. It is heartwarming and hopeful to see young people today appreciating and showing respect to the 100's of truly gifted musicians who made the magic happen.

Hi Steph I'm a 65 year old musician from the US and I've heard many of his songs also when hew was with Crosby Stills Nash & Young or just CSNY. He's now is now 78 so he fits his own song. Also try the first song when he had the band Crazy Horse called Cinnamon Girl but others are Heart of Gold, Down By the River and The Needle and the Damage Done

One of Neil's Oldest songs , "Sugar Mountain" will take you on a brief journey through 4 distinct phases of your young life before you turn 20 , because "You Can't be 20 On Sugar Mountain. Though You're Thinking That You're Leaving there Too Soon" 🙂

Neal is another musician who follows many paths, he is beloved for both his acoustic classics, unique voice and lyrics and he is also beloved by hard rockers everywhere for his stints with the legendary jam band Crazy Horse and his rocking tunes with Crosby, Stills and Nash along with his time in Buffalo Springfield. Utter legend, in the RR HoF several times over. For one of his best hits and rocking songs, do Cinnamon Girl with Crazy Horse, it is an all-time studio classic that is amazing live on the Weld tour, 1990 or so, do that video and be amazed, you will freak out watching him solo for the ages on electric guitar! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

Bob Dylan. Jim Croce. Cat Stevens. Jackson Browne and many many more the list of artists that I just gave you would keep you busy until you reach my age and the clue to that is in all the artists that I just named

Neil is the quintessential singer-songwriter. His acoustic guitar is incredible and, although I like his electric music, this is what I prefer. Try "Needle and the Damage Done," a sad song about addiction, or "After the Gold Rush." If you want to try electric, maybe "Alabama", "Southern Man", or "Ohio." I saw him in the late 1970's a an amphitheater in Michigan. Throughout the show fans were screaming for "Southern Man." He never played it. Charlie Daniels opened for him.

It's called Folk music. But that can split into Folk/Country , or Country/Folk or Bluegrass... Coolest breakdown I ever heard is....The Blues are the black man's Country... Country is Whiteman's blues... Folk is the Innercity's Country... Rock is the young guy's idea of the tempo and loudness that all of that music should be played

I saw Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young in 1974 at Cleveland Stadium. Jessie Colin Young, opened up the concert, after The Band came out. Next up was Santana, which was amazing, CSNY came out and played for 4 hours, with a total of 11 hours for the concert. 92,000 people were there, and collection of talent made this the greatest for me of all time.

Neil Young wrote this song along with many other great songs. Just before Neil performed this song he told the story of what inspired him to write this song (this wasn't in the version you showed). Neil bought a ranch in Northern California, and on the ranch was an old man who was the caretaker (took care of the animals, mended fences etc). The lyrics (my interpretation) explain even though there was a big difference in their age, they had a of similarities in life. Neil Young is also very good on the harmonica and electric guitar. He has many great guitar riffs. If you do more acoustic songs I would also recommend Heart of Gold so you can hear him play harmonica too. If you want to hear his rock songs, I would recommend Cortez The Killer, Powder Finger, or Southern Man. Glad you played some Neil Young on your channel and great reaction.

He said in an interview that he would row out in a boat onto his pond and his stereo would be blasting the left channel from the house and his right channel from the barn. LOL Talk about a super stereo sound!! HaHa LOve Neil. I was lucky to see him with Crosby, Stills, and Nash in Chicago at the Auditorium back in, I think, 1978. I am 74 and still the rocker! Peace .

Now you need to hear “Heart of Gold” from the same BBC concert. You’ll love countless of Neil’s songs, he’s one if the greatest lyricists, singers, and guitar players that ever trod the earth.
