Can the Game Grumps win a Street Fighter match using only a light punch attack? honestly I think Arin limiting himself to light punches helped him play better since he had to be more careful along with not being allowed to use anything more unsafe. I was impressed at how well he did.
Due to Arin focusing so intensely on defense and only closing in when it’s relatively safe, Arin, in this video, is better than most of the FGC

There's a channel called Core-A Gaming that does excellent analysis videos about fighting games and the FGC, but one video discusses the concept of playing Street Fighter with only "sweeps and throws." You can do a crouching hard kick (aka sweep), you can throw (which means you can also tech throws), and you can move, dash, and block; but you can't jump or use any other normals or specials. The goal is essentially to teach absolute beginners about neutral and mixups without overwhelming them with stuff like meter, frame data, combos, mechanics specific to SFV, etc.
Needless to say, it works much better in a local setting where both players are mutually playing under these "rules." :b

His favorite SF is SFIII Third Strike, he mentioned this from one of his panels, also he is also loves KOF series.
He used to write character guides for Bloody Roar way back in like 2005 so he's actually pretty well versed in fighting games

Asura's Wrath is one of my favorite games of all time. But it's terrible for LPing. They have to be quiet and pay attention to tell what's going on. And they can't do that for an LP.
