- We Compare Old vs New Bourbon Releases… Are They Getting Better?
Jaime has 5 samples poured, she labels them. David mixes them up while her back is turned so she can do it blind. We nose, taste, and review each glass. Reveal the price and decide if we want to buy it again. This brings up a good conversation, likes and dislikes are challenged. Then we reveal! Let us know what bottles you would buy again! Thank you so much for watching! #highlight #follow #everyone

I blinded the 11 and 12 last night and I picked 11. They were much more similar than I realized. However 12 is a stud! They are both GREAT GREAT bottles
💯🥃👆🏼
Nice review! Discovery 8 is nice, D7 is a little better, D9 is decent and just behind D7, D11 is my favorite, glad I bought a backup! Trying to get D 12! Cheers!
Buc-ee's is so good! Stopped at both Daytona and Florence SC on my last trip along 95.
David and the kids are obsessed with that place… I’d rather stay in the car, way to busy 😂😂
Good fruits are nectarines, plums, pineapple, blueberry, raspberries, pomegranates, lemon , limes, coconut, and watermelon...
Bad fruits are bananas, apples, apricots
Jamie’s holding her breath to get rid of hiccups followed by David’s “glad we bought extras of that one” 😂😂😂
Couldn’t hold it in anymore 😂😂
Glad to watch this review. I almost picked up a 8 last week
I can’t believe it myself 🤦🏼♀️ it was so underwhelming compared to the others.
Jamie is correct! Love the 11, but 12 is just better!!!!
Cheers to that 🥃
David, Bourbon Junkies picked 12 over 11 also. So how does it feel that you introduced Jaime to whiskey and now she's better at picking winners than you are? lol. Seriously though, my local shop is getting the 12 Wednesday so I'll get to try it then and decide for myself. Thanks for the heads up on this one ahead of time.
Hi Fred! Appreciate you taking the time to comment. Got to say, they both are very good bottles. It was hard to make a choice for sure. Cheers
Did you go over to Mickey Finn’s by the Florence Buc-ee’s? Pretty good liquor store.
I prefer the 11 over the 12 by a narrow margin
Yes! So close. I’d probably have a different ranking each time I blind them. That’s how much I like them both. Cheers!
Disco 4 is the best one. Need to blind 4 vs 12.
Great idea!
I’m with Jaime and prefer 12 over 11 but they’re both really good
Yeah I would probably say they’re a toss up. If I blinded them both again I may even picked the 11 this time. Both really great bottles.
Great blind!
Using the same jigger is a great way to contaminate all the samples. It's nit picky I know, but this is a no no for me. Years ago I was having a pour at a bar and it tasted like shit, so I thought about it and they used a jigger bc it's an expensive pour, but who knows what that jigger was used for b4. Even a cheap well bourbon would have ruined my experience with a specific pour. I mean who wants jack daniels old #7 mixed in with their Taylor straight rye? Even if you wash the jigger out with water it's still shitty tap water, you want that with your jack 12 year? Like I said 98% of the time who cares for a mixed drink or basic pours but for me I don't use or drink stuff neat out of a jigger.
Very true. Appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thank you!
For my blinds and samples I send I use the same one, so contamination is a concern for me. To prevent contamination, I would rinse with distilled water before filling.
@@tomshanley5405 yup agreed, I think most of us can eye ball it, no jigger needed.. We're pour experts! Haha
I was good until you had to hold your breath to fix the hiccups ... finally had to laugh (this is a problem because I usually watch these while at work). I've avoided the Discovery series because of the price, but I guess I'll have to save my budget for a couple of months and find a 12 if I can do it.
Couldn’t hold it in much longer 😂. The disc series is my “expensive” purchase of whiskey I’m willing to make.
First, cheers 🎉
Cheers🥃
