I know a lot of folks love it, but our last few bottles of 1920 have been a big letdown. We thought maybe a bad bottle but we’ve gotten a few duds now. Hard to say 1920 hasn’t changed with these sort of results.
Can't believe a very historic distillery has put out sub- par stuff 😮Now (OF) they have btls. that are practically allocated! Didn't use to B like that-- I'm 🤔 thinking it'll hurt business?
Totally agree. David use to be the 1920 and “I” the 1910 in the relationship. Not so much anymore 😂. We’ll be in your alls neck of the woods next week. Hope you both are doing well!
Interesting but not shocking ... but that's because my favorite was always 1910 anyway. After watching this, I went and got my bottle of 1920 and tried it ... I don't find it to be overly oaky, BUT its several years old and is one of the old label types. Fun video!
1924 and 117 BiB are Unobtanium in Texas. 1910 and 1920 are my usual favorites. The King Ranch is good and comparable to the 1920 to me, but not for almost double the price.
Jaime and her Old Forester! Always fun to see how she can pick ‘em out…like a bird dog on quail! 1910 for me …being in Texas I have several KRanch bottles but never found em up to 10 or 20 standards! Thanks guys! Hope you are enjoying your new home! 🤠🇺🇸🇨🇱🥃
I have only tried the 1910 and 1920 in this lineup but I think these are all good bottles so 1920 being 5th is not a huge deal IMO. I have only had one bottle and that was a few years ago. I have one unopened now and hopefully enjoy that one as much as the first one I had. I would really love to find a bottle of the 1924 for MSRP. I think that would be awesome bourbon. I would think the 117 would be similar to 1910 because they both are double oaked.
Yes I was surprised. I thought 1924 would come in 1st for me, even up until the reveal I thought it was 1924. I’m shocked David didn’t rank 1920 higher
Nice review! I’m about two years into my journey and the 1910 started out as my favorite pour then I graduated to the 1920 and really liked it, now I don’t really care for either one. My 1920 seems like a charred bitter piece of wood:(
Same. I was really surprised with the results of this blind. 1910 was what started me into whiskey and 3ish years in its still my go to pour. Thank you for sharing Nick!
I've avoided trying any other OF after buying a 1920 and it's just not great...medicinal flavor that just isn't for me. But, I keep getting told over and over to try 1910
OMG I am SHOCKED that Jaime picked 1910! Who could have guessed? Oh, when we visited Old Forester last year, there was a barrel in the rickhouse with "117 CM" handwritten on the head. IYKYK.
I thought about it. I actually had it on the table and then changed my mind. Maybe again after sometime. I’d like to buy another 1920 to see if it’s just our bottle or if we just don’t love it anymore.
I just got my first Old Forester to try, and, of course, I got a 1920. I was disappointed and found many of my Texas whiskeys far superior. Perhaps I will give 1924 a chance after seeing this blind. But, first impressions are going to be hard to change. Thank you for sharing this blind with us.
My two bottles were sh*t, if that counts. 😂 I don't get the hype. As much as I love some oaky barrel notes, they both were more moldy-wet-rotted-wood than charred oak. Other notes were fine, but... I just didn't "get it." For the money, I've had better. Much better.
It's been a common trend in other blinds on RUclips too. SLB had the same thing happen a few times now with 1920. It seems like the newer batches just don't open up as expected when the bottles get lower
I love my $27.99 Old Forester 100 😉👍 Cheers 🥃
1920 is not what it was 3-4 years ago. It was my first love and I won't buy it unless an update occurs.
Agreed!

Just picked up a bottle of 1920. One drink out of it and I’d like to return it.
😂😂 If that could only be possible, I have many other bottles I’d like to return!

Finally a blind on OF
1910 is my favourite, great video thanks
Appreciate you taking the time to comment! Cheers🥃
I get an off putting heavy char note on my last bottle of 1920. Haven’t rebought.
OF 117 1910 EEO is probably the best of the 117 series in my opinion, followed closely by the 9 YR BIB
IF 1910 by a nose over WRDB for the win. Cheers

Well done you two!

Try OF1910 … oops 😂😂
Love Old forester products.
❤️
The 1920 is a hit and miss with me so it’s not a go to very often
Hope bottle made it safely. cheers 🥃🥃🥃
We are safe, appreciate you asking.

Wow!
Really disappointing how 1920 has taken a nose dive in the last year or so. This used to be my favorite whiskey. 🤨
I feel like that 1920 just loses flavor after the neck pour.
A interesting twist may have been to throw in the 100 rye.
I thought about it. I actually had it on the table and then changed my mind. Maybe again after sometime. I’d like to buy another 1920 to see if it’s just our bottle or if we just don’t love it anymore.
1910 is TOASTED BARREL goodness.
❤

Did you ever try 1910. It’s opposite of 1920? I feel it’s very comparable to 1924
I would be suspicious of that bottle of 1920. It may have gone bad cuz I have never heard anyone give tasting notes for it like you guys did.
