That is the coolest thing. He planned, fetched his toy, and completed the task of putting his toy in his bed. That is one smart, agile, strong, persistent bird. I can't even get my kids to do that, LOL.

This is one phenomenal Cockatoo. It's beyond precious how much he loves his Dino and has worked out how to get it downstairs and up inside his cage and into his bed. He's incredibly intelligent and determined. How fortunate to catch his antics on video for everyone to enjoy.
But they brought the dino back upstairs to his cage? Im trying to find out why he pushed him down the stairs if he wanted to bring it to his cage upstairs lol
Anyone who truly loves birds would never keep one in captivity. It's heartbreaking to see these birds locked up in giant cages called houses. It's cruelty, birds should be flying free as nature intended. Stop these money making bird breeders, by NOT keeping any bird as a pet for Humans sick, cruel enjoyment.
I see that, birds are often abandoned because they become too much “trouble” to care for. I was assuming Barney was a rescue. Many do rescue pet birds from incompetent owners. They can’t be released back into the wild. The rescuers try to give them the best life they can. Some rescuers have dozens of abandoned birds. And natural habitats are being wiped out, too. I try to hope for the best. Barney’s owner has given him the best unnatural life he can hope for. I think the air from the blow dryer might make up for Barney’s loss of flight, to some small extent.

She had a baby daughter on the way and didn't want to risk her new baby being attacked. People were calling her disgusting, cruel and a lot of nasty things, saying that the bird was her daughter too, and the bird was her first daughter, so she shouldn't give her sway. Bird people are really stupid.. When their birds die, they say "fly free, fly high'. So stupid, they can't fly free and high, because they're dead. They never had a chance to fly free and high. Birds kept in captivity have psychological problems, frustrated sexually among other mental problems, because they are held captive, and treated like humans, people try to humanise them. It's sickening and very sad. It breaks my heart to see these captive birds, all because of some humans who basically want a living toy plaything, to show off and brag about. They are destructive creatures kept indoors, destroying furniture and woodwork, electric cables, computers, TVs, anything they can, because they shouldn't be kept captive. I love birds, I feed the wild birds that flock to my garden everyday and all day too, I love birds enough to never have one kept in captivity because it's got pretty colours, it's expensive and I can brag about it as some kind of status symbol. Bird breeders should be banned.
@@ellem If you read the bio information Barney is 30 years old - his second family gave him to a parrot sanctuary where he lived until the owner of that facility died. Then he and all the other birds there had to be rehomed and was moved to his current home. Should these birds be taken out of the wild - no . But once they are they can never return to the wild so what would you have people do? In captivity they can live for 80 years - you can put them down or they can have an owner like this one who gives him as good a life as such a bird can have. If there is any fault here it rests with the original owner - not the people who have continued to care for him over the years. Sharing his life on RUclips lets many of us enjoy him but also makes clear what a commitment such an animal requires- which I figure discourages the casual “oh I think I’d like parrot “ people from follow suit - so it is a win for all concerned

Oh, parrots have LOADS of personality!! I have only lived with 1 African Grey, but he (until SHE laid an egg at 18yrs) was such a character & such fun to live with, it was amazing!!😊❤❤❤
