That scripted loss hurts... sister was playing one of the older Star Wars rpgs and almost beat this main Sith baddie in one of these "run around and survive before you can escape" kind of areas... straight up two-shot the Sith, and proceeded to wait around and see if they would still trigger the cutscene despite being one shot away from dying... seems they still had to run though, which was rather funny. It's always great when a game gives you something in exchange for beating a powerful character before their end-game boss fights such as how if you successfully defend your master in the opening of Sekiro you get a different cutscene where the enemy falls seemingly dead before coming up from behind to still take your arm.

everyone makes fun of the bard because the concept of "magic music" sound lame or whatever, but in literally every game I have played with a bard, they are OP as hell! Also in D&D writing a backstory for a bard is really fun!
I never learn how to play D&D. And I don't think I would be any good at that. But I do like how other people like it and tell about their own experiences with it. It could be fun to do it with a group of friends someday
Also like... I don't have a clue about the classes or all that stuff, but the mental image of a bard beating the shit out of a dragon with his instrument does soun fun. I don't know if it exist other funny classes in this game, or if you can create more or something. If I were to create a goofy character to be OP, I think it would be a merchant.
Really depends heavily on the game. Sometimes they’re absolutely OP, but other times they’re totally useless. I think it was ff14 where the bard was a dps class, but had the lowest peak dps out of every class. Including the tanks and healers. Had a few support abilities as well, but they were so weak it literally made no difference. Like would boost a hit from 500 damage to 501 damage. Some mana regen aura that no one needed because no one ever ran out anyway. HP regen so slow it’d heal 10hp on a 1000hp character over the entire course of the fight… oh, it did have a self damage buff ability that was very strong, but you had to stand still for like 5 seconds to use it making it actually impossible to use since you had to dodge insta-death aoe’s constantly. Just all around total trash class
In FF V, bards were the best ones for dealing with undead monsters in the great sea trench areas; requiem was OP against undead. Bards were also great at dealing with the high level omega robot monsters coz they could make them delay their attacks.
Tune it to a chord and you can change the key by changing your grip and sing along. A percussion lute. (or is it concussion?) (for the older US readers: "El Kabong rides again!")
Monster Hunter has the right idea A giant hunting horn that plays songs to buff the party but lest the monster forget, it is still a giant bonk stick and hits pretty hard
Scripted losses after you stun-lock or parry-spam a boss always got me laughing, ah yes and kill-steals... I know why I prefer the majority damage version where the one that did the most damage gets it while the last-hit just gets an exp bonus or some such.
That's a cool concept 👌🏼 I hope it's noticed. It would be fantastic to see them accidentally succeeding to the point where they're the most evil beings in the realm 😂 It would be a great 'mini series'

The dude Hamish is funny af. Favorite actor in these series man. I literally die laughing at his scenes.
I haven't seen the Cannon Fodder one before. Alan, Adam, Rowan, and Hamish made me hurt myself from laughing with their battle cries.
everyone makes fun of the bard because the concept of "magic music" sound lame or whatever, but in literally every game I have played with a bard, they are OP as hell! Also in D&D writing a backstory for a bard is really fun!
I never learn how to play D&D.
And I don't think I would be any good at that.
But I do like how other people like it and tell about their own experiences with it.
It could be fun to do it with a group of friends someday

I don't have a clue about the classes or all that stuff, but the mental image of a bard beating the shit out of a dragon with his instrument does soun fun.
I don't know if it exist other funny classes in this game, or if you can create more or something.
If I were to create a goofy character to be OP, I think it would be a merchant.
My dual handbow wielding 12 attacks per round bard / killing machine in BG3 would agree.
The meteor one is hilariously accurate Spell description vs Game Effect in MMOs
That bard should bring a bigger guitar that can be slammed and beat the boss while buffing his allies.
Tune it to a chord and you can change the key by changing your grip and sing along. A percussion lute. (or is it concussion?) (for the older US readers: "El Kabong rides again!")
Monster Hunter has the right idea
A giant hunting horn that plays songs to buff the party but lest the monster forget, it is still a giant bonk stick and hits pretty hard
@@digitalnomad9985 I am apparently old. lol To steal a line from Captain America; "I got that reference".
The fact that a dark wizard capable of utter destruction laughed for 40 seconds straight is insane
Watching this really makes me hope Adam is Bonecaller for the dnd series
Thanks!
Scripted losses after you stun-lock or parry-spam a boss always got me laughing, ah yes and kill-steals... I know why I prefer the majority damage version where the one that did the most damage gets it while the last-hit just gets an exp bonus or some such.
Hamish appearing in a puff of smoke, cackling and wearing evil mascara.
It gets me every time you do it.
I could only imagine Hamish and Byron being a terrible duo of bumbling evil that failed their way up.
That's a cool concept 👌🏼 I hope it's noticed. It would be fantastic to see them accidentally succeeding to the point where they're the most evil beings in the realm 😂 It would be a great 'mini series'
@@renoobed-owl7590 Hamish is actually the Dark Lord stumbling his way through with the help of his most trusted General, Byron.
@@james-cz4xx I'd definitely watch their evolution 👌🏼🤣 Byron probably went to the dark side on a delivery run
@@renoobed-owl7590 delivering Hamish to the Dark Lord because he misread the address on the package, a call back to when Rowan mailed himself to Hawaii

It's unreal how long the Dirt League has kept this going with new takes on old tropes. Absolutely brilliant. There's nothing like it. 6 million + subscribers are proof of their awesomeness. I've been playing these games for over 30 years, beginning with DOS games. Star Wars Dark Forces came out in 1995 and was mind-blowing for the time. Windows 95 brought me to the PC platform from Apple. Doom came out 2 years earlier. Good times... These videos make me want to go back to play them all again.
The second video : That's how difficulty settings should be visually represented in games!
8:56 his expression AHAHAHAHAH!😂😂😂
9:59 _"I'm in my protection bubble! I'm in my protection bubble!"_ LMAO
I honestly don't have a favourite person. They are ALL awesome.
SUPERB job ladies and gentlemen!
Trying to hold a straight face in front of Hamish.
😁👍 ...Exactly !
