I love the gradual increase of scale and grandeur that each segment of the song brings to this boss fight. It makes this relatively awful sonic game all that much better honestly. You played each song at the exact moment that it needed to be at. Even the old school Eggman voice is perfect.
Note how this level is titled "The Beginning of the End", as though to imply that this was in fact NOT meant to be the last level in the Sonic 4 series. They seriously had more of Sonic 4 in store for all of us. Perhaps with a THIRD episode.

There was a third episode planned, with Knuckles and (maybe) Amy, but the game got hated on, so it didn't get released.
