HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 21 окт 2024
- This is our first day out with new barrel in 300RUM, we had planned to start at 600 yards, but the light was going to take another half an hour to get there, and well, time is precious, so straight out to 2700 yards, hope you like the result.
FYI This video takes place on private property, the buildings are farm sheds, and no one is present. Shooting is conducted by a highly experienced shooting team with target ammunition for this display of Extreme Long Range Target Shooting.

It’s amazing how much energy they’re still hitting the target with at that distance. Great video - thank you.
Cheers
Love listening to those rounds travel down range. Great shoot! Great spotting.
Love the laughter when the 1st round impacted. Great team work.
Thanks Glenn, glad you like, Cheers
I like how this channel shows people. That a gun is not an evil thing when used properly, it is a precision TOOL as good, or bad as the person who use it. Which is all good. PS, I love Sams " silly laugh" it reminds me of real. Keep it up big fella, and your better half😊.
Thanks Dave, Cheers
Interesting sound when that beast goes off. A real beauty. As always thank you for an amazing video.
Thanks James, yes its a shooter all right, glad you liked, Cheers
I love the 300 rum it's my favorite rifle cartridge. Can't wait to see more
Thanks Dennis, stay tuned, lol, we like it too, Cheers
The 300 rum is my second favorite.... #1 .375 Rum, #2 300 rum, #3 270 WSM. (30-06, 6mm rem, 243, 500 automax) Those are fun, but, not favs. Lol.
You guys never cease to amaze in your long range shooting, it’s absolutely amazing the distances you push for different cartridges! Have definitely inspired myself in my own long range shooting. Awsome work always a big admirer and fan.
Thanks Landry, glad you like, Cheers
Really liked that last drone shot too!
Cheers
Nothing better than your Videos in the morning and a coffee. You are a dream team! 💪🏼
Thanks Man, Cheers
I like the way you handle the rifle Mark , you don't slam the bolt home just nice and gentle ,no rush, the sign of a good marksman.
Thanks Ken, glad you like, Cheers and all the best
WOW, three in a row at over 2700 yards is impressive no matter the caliber. Keep up the inspiration Mark. Now just re-barrel that 338 Lapua to a 300 Norma :)
Thanks Otis, well I think this just "might" be a better overall ELR option, but will have to test the 338 Norma and the 300 Norma in my TRG, but money doesn't grow on trees...…. so sometime, Cheers
Otis I would love to shoot with you some time! I think I might build a big 30 cal. in the future I'm thinking 300 rum or Norma. Mark and Sam great shooting as always
You guys never fail to amaze me.
Very well done guys and awesome video!
Thanks Drew, Cheers
Hot dang! That's a sweet shooter! Nice job you two! Looks like it was a great day.
Thanks Man, glad you liked, Cheers
ALL THAT CAN BE SAID IS WOW..THAT'S FRIGGIN AWESOME GUYS.
GOD BLESS YOU GUYS
Thanks Buzz, glad you liked, Cheers
I love my 300 RUM .I get a little det pressure .A nice day for shooting & a very accurate rifle ,be vary proud to own that .
Thanks David, Cheers
I have a sendero sf2 all stock i am shooting 210 gr Berger h1000 at 91gr but the powder is hard to come by here in Canada so i switched to RL33 at 99 gr 3075 FPS I have not a long range with it only 100 yard group shot
@@nfwsrt8zl12 I put mine in a MDT HS3 Chassis & a Timney trigger set at 2 lb + muzzle brake .for shooting deer & bull Tahr on the tops .
@@nfwsrt8zl12 yeah I've tried a couple different powders in mine I settled on 96.5gr RL33 and 208gr eld-m coal 2.790 I'm getting 2975fps avg with an SD of 11.27 and an es of 20. I've only got a 400 yard range here to shoot on but it's very accurate, rifle is an out of the box Remington 700 long range.
Wow! Fantastic! Awsome! One hit on top over the other!!!! Very good indeed. Cheers!
Thanks Hillbilly, cheers
Excellent marksmanship
Cheers
AKA, grouping at 2723. Nice shooting mate. I’ve put a lot of lead down range, and have a true appreciation for what you are doing here.
Thanks Man, glad you liked, Cheers
I’ve been waiting for this notification for quite sometime.
300RUM is my favourite hunting cartridge.
So far I have been successful hitting steel at 1400yards.
As always, wonderful video guys!
Cheers
Thanks Man, Cheers
Would love to have something that accurate for feral dogs ,sometimes can't even get any closer than 700 Mts before there gone.but for now my tikka is not doing to bad ,.awesome video guys well done.
I thought I was the only one. Got myself a rem700 in .300RUM. Its the RMEF version so came from the factory corrosion resistant barrel and polymer stock. Great deer gun. Was using the corbon dpx rounds until I started loading my own.
Love the RUM
Cheers
Hi Mark and Sam, thoroughly enjoying your channel. Learning heaps about high powered rifles and your bullet ballistics experimentation to see what works over different distances. Have always been interested in long range rifle shooting, but never had the chance, with too many hobbies as it is. Great to get up the hill early without the local heat generated wind, and nice to hear a 6 cylinder engine nearby in the still air, pulling an airplane into the sky during your video (that's my passion!). I love and miss the Aussie wildlife in the background. Cheers from an Aussie-Kiwi in NZL, David.
Thanks Dave, glad you like them, we put a lot into these vids, Cheers
Fantastic shooting! this channel inspired me to take the long way to perfection on reloading and shooting.
Thanks Paul, cheers
As usual great stuff again. I still can't get my head around shooting those distances. Awesome .
Thanks Man, Cheers
Wow a nearly no-wind day up on the knob? Lucky! That 300 is talking to you already 👍🏻
Lol, yes was a good day, Cheers
Love it, I will be following this series even closer then the rest.
Cheers
My favorite round have built two of them the one I recently built is running a krieger barrel at 800 I’m getting a consistent half minute groups plan on stretching it soon as soon as it warms up
Cheers
Awesome shooting and thanks for a great video guy's
Thanks Nick, Cheers
the 300 RUM is very popular with reloaders here in the US. Hodgdon 4350 is one of the "secret" powders for medium loadings. Most reloaders like this cartridge for the power unofficial power loadings. Power 1 is 308 Power 2 is 30-06 power 3 is Winchester magnum and power level 4 is "full" power 300 RUM. I have a cheap Remington 700 Long range in 300 RUM and I love it. There are however quite a few Remington 700 RUM with pencil thin barrel in the used gun rack after hunting season is over. I will be getting a custom rifle built in this caliber once I save up enough money. The main problem with this caliber is the barrel gets to 300 degrees fahrenheit after only 5 rounds of full power 300 RUM loads.
Well, lots more to it, which I've been through a little in other videos, but thanks for your thoughts, Cheers
Basically barrage firing at that point with any other firearm, amazing. I will keeping my eye out for 300 RUM firearms.
Cheers
Fantastic shooting you pair! Great to see you smacking steel at that range so consistently, and putting together great videos like these! Keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks Gareth, FYI this chassis you built for us is the real deal, Cheers and all the best.
You guys freaking rock
Thanks Burt, Cheers
Look at you guys with the lab radar. Ain’t technology great 🌞
That laugh of Sam’s is great. Love the enthusiasm 👍
Thanks John, yes we try to look like we know what we are doing, lol, glad you liked, Cheers and all the best mate.
MarkandSam AfterWork We all know the difference between “acting” and “professionalism”. Great content as always. 💪
Cheers
Nice rifle and good shooting Mark. Rifle looks to be coming straight back into you.
Almost, a little work to do, but pretty good, Cheers
Wjy disntou choose the 250 hotnaday? I read the Nosler ABLR 190 IS A BETTER CHOICE FOR Extreme long range in the 300 rum. -- though, i am huntinh meat, not steel.
ELR, not hunting....
Love the new clip guys- and well done Mark- outstanding shooting! Just had a visit from my nephew Gordon from Canberra who mentioned that he'd done a weekend course on extreme long range shooting. He didn't know about you so I introduced him to Mark and Sam- and the new clip had just been posted:) He got excited when he saw the GCPD chassis- he's done a lot of the machine work for them and it's quite possible he machined your rifle! Small world eh:) Keep the videos coming- great fun. Jay
Small world, glad he and you liked, Cheers
Hi Jay, great to see you saw this video. Gordon is a real asset and most certainly has worked on a lot of our components like those in this custom MSP chassis. Cheers Gareth
Hey Gareth! I live on a small farm near Gulgong- Central West N.S.W. This was only the second time Gordon's been here to visit in several years. He mentioned the long range shooting and I brought up Mark and Sam on RUclips- fifteen minutes after the clip with your rifle chassis was posted. I couldn't believe the coincidence. And Gordon is a fine young man. He's had some terrible things to deal with as I'm sure you're aware and the way he handles life makes us all proud. Jay.
So I am currently Building a 300 RUM. Are there any powders that you like. I have been using H1000 in a lot of my loads but I am always open to working with other powders. Here is the States H1000 and Ratumbo are hard to come by. Thanks again. Love the videos as always.
We list powder we use in the videos, beyond that, maybe try some forums, Cheers
New to the channel and that's a good first impression: 3 solid hits in a row at over 2700 yards is fantastic shooting my friend! I've been looking at the RUM myself recently and have been trying to do my research on it as much as possible
Cheers
Absolutely impressive
Cheers
Great video guys
Thanks Heyden, Cheers
Barrel's getting hot and the POI is shifting.
Not an issue here, just wind changes, lol, Cheers
Can i ask you what twist barrel you are using? I have heard everything from 8"-12"
1:9
Best shooting I've ever seen. Congrats. From a sniping POV, all but the first two would be considered useful. That's amazing for 2.5k's. Well done.
Thanks Man, yes going pretty good, nice chassis really helps, glad you like the video, Cheers and all the best.
sorry if anyone has asked this already, but how do you like the doppler system vs. traditional chrono???
I’ve never had the opportunity to touch off a 300 RUM, nor would I on one w/o a brake... 😳
But one of my ex Smiths in WA state (USA) swears by that cartridge for his big/dangerous game duty....
It’s a REM 700 I believe.
Enjoyed this vid. That is one heck of a setup $$$$$$$$$$$$
Glad you liked, the video, I have not used nor do I use any chrono enough to compare, sorry, Cheers
Awesome shooting
How long is your barrel? Going to build a 300 rum soon.
Thanks
Thanks and details listed below video
Thank you for the video! I'm excited to see how you feel about the Hornadys. Yes they're heavier with a higher b.c. but will they prove to be as consistently reliable as the 230s? I'm also excited to see if the higher velocity from the Ultramag is worth it out at 2 miles or if that extra pop makes it any more difficult for you to control than the Winmag. But, looking really good so far. Thanks again!
Cheers
Wow!!!! That is extremely impressing!!! Looks like i need to take cover even through i live in Sweden!!!! I have a new God!
Cheers Patrik, glad you liked, Cheers
Wonderful work! Is AR2225 fairly close (different name maybe?) as Retumbo? I run about 88-92 grains of that stuff for my 208-ELD-M's. I see you all are loaded VERY long. I think at a 92-93 I hit 3200fps on a 208, (4100 asl) but I roll it back to 3-3100 to try and extend barrel life. Hitting 3,000 for a 225 looks pretty sweet for numbers!!! I have only just touched a mile on mile on my rig and it took a minute to get there. Awesome seeing you guys "work"! Stay healthy in these crazy times!!!
Hi Dan, yes 2225 is Retumbo, just different names, and this one I pushed the lands forward quite a ways to get the 300 rum with the 250's set up and it really worked out well, glad you liked, Stay safe Cheers and all the best.
My favorite caliber!!!!!!!!
Cheers
Love the RUM.
Jev from TSS Mandurah
Hi Jev, Cheers
Very nice, innit? Very nice. Indeed.
Yep, Cheers
You make it look easy
Cheers
Good shots, congratulations cheers and toasted. Thanksgiving our eyes! waiting for the seconds.
Thanks Man, Cheers
Great Shooting! Maybe video comparing 300 PRC vs 300 RUM and their pros and cons?
Awesome video!
Thanks Man, may do, but not really apples v apples, we did 300prc v 300wm, that was interesting, with the different weight pills, this thing is a good step up from both those in the way of horsepower. FYI 300wm v 300prc video on channel, Cheers
300 норма. Магнум лутче или хуже300RUM
cool , 300 rum and norma are the only 30 mag's i believe to hold and edge over the 300 win mag , for elr shooting i mean , any thoughts so far on this ?
Haven't used the Norma yet, so I will have to hold on that, Cheers
Great shooting I’ve got to get into long range shooting I’ve got to line my 300 Winchester magnum up get it ready
Great cartridge, cheers
What are you using to record the target results close-up? Are you able to view the results real time or do you have to retrieve the unit before seeing the results?
We view through our scopes, like you can see, we have Go pros at target to capture the video, and no we do not use them to see the target when shooting, Cheers
Never shot anywhere close to this range. Quite a lot of travel time on this. Neat to see.
Cheers
Sensational guys 👌👌👌
Thanks Tony, Cheers
Awesome shots, love your videos and would love to get into long range shooting someday
Thanks Tim, cheers
dang
nice shooting
Cheers
Do you not worry about barrel temp? That thing has got to be scorchin! Great shooting
Just keep steady and constant, Cheers
Tune in just to hear the wife's unmistakably Aussie "righty-o". Love it!
Cheers
Another great vid... you guys have done a 22 at 1000... would love to see a 17hmr at 1000... keep up the good work
Cheers
I got some more great news on my reloads for my nephew he went to the range yesterday and was hitting the 6 inch steel at 600 yards to windy to try the 1,000 yard mark but 600 he eat the 6 inch steel up with the load I worked up for his Savage 338 Lapua magnum. It’s the model 12 I think single shot
Awesome
Hi. Great video. Btw, what is the orange antenna panel sort of on the side of the Remington?
That is a Labradar, for measuring bullet speed, we use to help collect data, Cheers
What a lovely couple doing what most couples do at daybreak...say what? ...hey Sam, what were looking at to the right before returning to the spotting scope? ...they were just quick glances. ...from Nebraska, stateside
Thanks Man, Sam is always checking everything, making sure of our environment, checking drive ways, stock, machines, etc, just being safe. Cheers,
You got pretty lucky to have no wind today, I'm intrested in building a custom Remington 700 300 rum ,just fin a "cheap" starndard action and I'm asking myself if untrued action is ok for building the rifle. Thanks for sharing !
I always true actions when fitting a new barrel, but leave alone while stock barrel is good, Cheers
Hi I see your using the labradar is it work good with muzzle break any chance of a review showing better position to use it cheers
Well we get readings, but still not as reliable as I would like, but have some more things to test, we share when I have figured it out, Cheers
338RUM and 300RUM are very under rated cartridges in my opinion..Not sure why their not more popular..
Well the 300rum sure works out nice with the new heavy pills, so you just may have a point, Cheers
Be safe out there and GOD BLESS you and your family buddy Amen 🙏 Aim small miss small
Thanks Randle, Cheers and all the best.
Great work guys , those rounds were performing really well , showing the 3 velocities up on the screen was 2,924 the slowest speed of the bunch or were there any more that dropped below that speed during the test ? was wondering what the overall of the SDs and extreme spreads were just out of curiosity cheers G.
Running in the barrel, the speeds quite often raise as you go, those mv's where in order of the shots, FYI I don't really worry about sd's and es's in general, but certainly not in the first 50 rounds of a barrels life, Cheers
Thanks Mark cheers .
Why does no one mess with 375? I think the 375rum would be a hell of a cartridge with the new projectiles coming to the market.
??? we use the 375 Gibbs, 375 Cheytac and 375 HH, lol, Cheers
@@markandsamafterwork
Forgive me I hadn’t seen the Cheytac ballistic charts.
Great shooting, any idea of the velocity at impact?
1050 to 1080 fps, Cheers
Little over 1000 fps/700mph or so
Tell us all about that beautiful rifle & set up
All listed below the video, Cheers
Nice shooting
Thanks James, Cheers
You are going to have to go out to 5000 yards to make it a challenge. I have the same problem with 22lr...got to go out to 25 yards.
Lol, Cheers
Awesome video how is the 300 rum recoil? Looks manageable when you shoot and bullet flight time seems about 4 sec
All about the details, but yes this one is not bad, and yes around 4.9 sec's, Cheers
👍👍
Equal physics in a light barrel 300rum kicks like a mule
looks like a good combo 300rum and atip 250gr
Yep, Cheers
I do wonder what speed you get with these 250 grs bullets from 300 RUM... this is intresting ELR setup...
All listed in the video, glad you liked, Cheers
Yea... i can see that you are getting around 2950 like I suspected!
I'm not much of a commenter but i do like your systematic aproach to everything you do... been watching your videos for a very long time now! 👍
Thank you for your endless efforts to the ELR/ULR Shooting community... 💪
Cheers
Damn that’s 1.5 miles, nice shooting
Cheers
Hello boss hope you are fine.. well i hVe a request ! Can you make a video on 7x57 mauser ? How far it can shoots and briefing at balistics and trajectory .. power.. etc .. how long can we shoot with this.. i mean to hunt with it at long distance... regards
Usman
I don't have one of those, so not something i could do anytime soon, sorry, Cheers
How much money for each round fired?
Hand loaded, not that much, Cheers
Thanks Man glad you like, and we can shoot on private property (with owners permission) or some public land also, Cheers
Dam that's some good shooting right there. Love the long range stuff. Would love to join you some time
Thanks Deb, glad you like, Cheers and all the best.
Would love to come shoot with y’all someday! Who wouldn’t? Lol.
Thanks Joe, cheers and all the best.
Recoil doesn't appear to be that bad for a RUM. I don't know if that's because you have a muzzle brake the size of a grapefruit, or the rifle weights 50 lbs., but either either way, nice job!
Well total rifle weight 22lb's, shooter weight 225lb's and yes muzzle brake works well, Cheers
I need to look that caliber up. Not something I've seen before.
Cheers
Excellent channel! What a talent you 2 have developed. Every video is quite informative.
I would love to see what you could achieve with the 20mm rifle from Anzio Ironworks. That will be an awesome incredible video in my opinion. You have the talent and range to really push long range shooting with it.
Thank you for all that you do. I will be watching and subscribed as well as placing an order for the nifty bag adjuster.
Thanks Man, glad you like, and well not something we have access to, but not quite what it might seem to be either, (on paper v reality). Cheers and all the best
Unreal. A couple that doesn't Argue. .Nice. ;)
Thanks George, Cheers
.. 😯 HIT ! .. beautiful.. Senna.. HAHA... got 'im .. Smack in the senna 😎🚬
Gotta love the Aussie / sheila 🌹

I jus' love that silly laugh 😂😙

What's the hi vis panel next to you ol mate
Labradar, for measuring bullet speed, data collection, Cheers
How many round is the barrel life of .300 Rum?
500 - 3000+ all depends on how you use them, Cheers
good LAWD !!!!!!!!!
Lol, cheers
Doskonałe strzelanie Mark. Jestem nowy i daje wam suba
Thanks Man, glad you like, welcome, Cheers
MarkandSam AfterWork Dzięki (Thanks) 👍
My factory barrel RUM (26") has been getting me out past a mile with the 208 ELD-M putting a new heavy barrel 32" 9 twist on, and am planning on trying 230 ATIP, and 230 Berger Hybrid. This video has gotten me even more excited about it. What is your barrel twist, and thanks for posting. Cheers from Washington State USA
1:9, Cheers
That barrel is going to be burnt out after this :) Nice shooting
Lol, you must use them different to me, this is just about run in, looking and shooting great, Cheers
Any plans to test the new Berger 245 eol?
When they get in the country, Cheers
MarkandSam AfterWork I am having a hard time deciding on a long throated 300 rum or a 300 Norma improved
Lots of details, and we are still working through the many choices, pros and cons, but have fun with that, Cheers
