We just picked this up from a game cafe, and was so excited because I loved the series. Thus far, we have spent 3 hours TRYING to figure out the rules via a combination of the rule book and videos... and so far have had more questions than actual game play. This game desperately needs an appendix of card effects.
why do it in 11 if it should take 20? Why can't you do the 20 minute version? After reading the rule book and watching this I I'm still confused. have found this to be one of the most poorly written rule book of any game I've tried learning and I've notice that 99% of the people that said they enjoyed playing the game all did it at some "game-con" so I believe they had the rules explained to them and didn't have to read the poorly written booklet. For example you say an agent takes an action and list 6 things then you proceed to explain obstacles and you have to go a page and 1/2 before you get SOME explanation of those 6 actions. 2 of the 6 actions are "take a warehouse action" or "travel" yet travel is also stated as an action within warehouse action. I'd love to see a better video or I feel this game will be packed up and placed in my game never to be played which is a shame since I was excited to get it from the kickstater
I appreciate the feedback. When I talk in person, I have a lot of (natural) pauses and "ums" inserted into the conversation, and I also don't stay on script, repeating stuff and sometimes meandering. So, it typically takes me around 20 minutes to make it through a teach. Here, I can remove my natural pauses, and keep tightly to the pertinent info. One option might be to check out some of the game play videos to see how the game flows in real time rather than try to digest all the rules at once. I have updated this playlist with a few more overview and play through videos we've done.
i totally agree with you..usually i can figure it out some of the rules out when listening but even hearing them im just lost.. ive played a few games like zombicide which was also from kickstarter..it had alot of crazy rules which i found were alil easier simpler to understand when the person explaining them was playing a round or two of the game to clearly demonstrate everything..

I have to admit that the rule book is somewhat confusing. A true How to Play like Jon Gets Games or Rodney Smith would do wonders.
