Great vid. I bought the T-004SK with the VA 5 head and although when extended to full height I do wish it was a bit more stable, I rarely put a spotter on it at full height, I normally sit and glass. I have another larger (heavier) carbon tripod with a ball head that is super stable that I can either shoot off of or use binoculars from if I want (I use the Spartan Precision system). Typically im out with my teenage boys so we can carry lots of gear amongst the 3 of us. I wish you guys would have extended them to max height and shown the stability and height difference between them all. Thanks
Thank you Brady and Cody for the great information on the trip Pods. As always your on top of the best gear Thank you so much God's Blessings to everyone
I live on the oregon coast my biggest problem with tripods is when hunting we are glassing reprod units and sitting down to glass is not possible in most scenarios so i want a tripod that extends to 72 inchs 58 seems to be standard height unless you want to spend a crazy amount of money
Guys I have a question as a video Hunting creator. I would go with the ST series because its carbon fiber so its light and fast on the move but how are the fluid heads to set up your camera and get all the action recorded?
Hey guys, you got me interested in the Sirui ( however it’s pronounced, lol! ) Will the ST-124 with VA5 be solid enough for shooting a 280AI off of? I don’t run a bi-pod as I don’t find it useful in 90% of my applications. A tripod could be quite useful, plus I already carry one for glassing with Meopta 15’s.
Hey Guys. You answered a lot of my questions I had. I have an older/ heavier pair of Leica BN 10x50’s and now have a new pair of Meopta Meostar B1’s 10x32’s, very lightweight. Would it be possible to have one tripod for both ? If so, which model would you recommend? If not, which model would you recommend for each pair ? Thank you!
A pan head limits you on uneven terrain…you would have to level the tripod to reduce your rifle cant versus a ball head you can use the head to level. I prefer using a pin sized gamechanger with Git-lite fill and shoot off the top of the tripod so i can use the va5 for spotting and still have the ability to shoot from a tripod if needed.
I've used the VA-5 head with my 300 WM and 300 RUM with no issues. It's a breeze to shoot off a saddle or an arca swiss plate. I easily was making shots in kill shot sized groups at 650 yards with the VA-5 head.
Fluid heads don’t have cant adjustment so you can’t level a rifle if you’re shooting off a tripod. BUT………if you put a leveling base between your tripod and fluid head, problem solved! It gives you about 10 degrees of cant in all directions. So I mounted an Arca Swiss plate onto my rifle stock…I can clip in and out so easy between nocs, spotter, and rifle. Im surprised I don’t see this more….I think the base cost me $40 on Amazon and it goes directly on your tripod. And then your fluid head goes on top of that. It’s a MONEY solution….
purchased the w 2204 and came to find out they do not have standard 3/8" or 1/4" threaded feet !!!!!!!!!! contacted them and all they said is it 10Mm and no we do not have a 10mm to 1/4" insert. NOT - NOT A GOOD REPLY
I've personally used the T-004SK with my 12s and BTX 115 a bunch and it was solid for backcountry hunts. Recently I switched to the ST-124 and I used it on a tough backcountry spring bear hunt this year. It's just a little heavier but I gain a bit more stability with it being a little heavier. Either way, I don't belive you could go wrong with the T-004SK or the ST-124. Just depends on what you're looking for. I don't glass a lot standing up, which is why I do like the T-004SK a lot.
“Aluminum” as in light weight? Hold on, I left my carbon steel tripod in the car. It’s 150 lbs. Aluminum, what else would it be? Lol. Sorry for the sarcasm.

Cody is the best!
At no point did you give weights or max heights. Kinda important info…..
google it
What is the max height option of these tripods? I am 6’4” and am looking for a tripod I can glass with while standing.

Picked up a ST-124 earlier in the year and ready to take it out for some real world scenarios.
You'll love that tripod! Quickly has become my favorite.

Will you guys please develop a pistol grip head like the sportsman style

Love my carbon Sirui tripod
Is guy on right really tall? Is guy left really short or sitting or are they both? Great review st124 is for me
Both people are standing up. And the guy on the right is 6'5" and so he makes everyone look shorter.

Can you shoot a rifle off the va-5 head?

What tripod of these would you guys personally recommend for 10-50s / 15s / and a BTX 95.
