- This is some Dark Ambient Music made with the OP-1, Moog Mother-32 and the Soma Lyra-8.
Check out my latest album on bandcamp: martingoldmann...
Mother and the OP-1 are running their sequencers in different speeds. Mother: 45 bpm, OP-1: 40 bpm. This gives some nice movement.
I added some samples to spice the track up.
Last step was to play along the track with the Lyra-8. The Lyra adds some low end and some textures in the higher frequencies. I lowered Lyra's volume in the mix so that the sometimes harsh sounds do not overwhelm the mellow atmosphere.
I recommend using headphones to explore this track. 🎧
Let me know what you think of this track.
Cheers, Martin
Wonderful exploratory piece. Really enjoyed getting lost in it on headphones. Beautiful! Well done!
Thank you - yeah headphones reveal a lot in this track 😊
This feels very idiomatic. It creates world of sound and does not break from it. Nicely done.
Thanks a lot :)
Holding out my bowl like in Oliver Twist, please sir may I have some more? Brilliant! 👍👍
That is very kind, Carlos. Thank you. Gonna do some more tracks as well as some fun content ;)
I stumblend on your channel. I really appreciate the kind of music you re making.
Thank you, much appreciated. Will do more :)
You mastered the Lyra in a melodical way, very nice ...
Thank you very much. :)
Love it! So wonderfully moody. Great lighting. ✌🏻🎧😌🎧🍻
Thank you :)
one day i will do it on my virtual dj decks!
super cool video and music I liked a lot very relaxed I love your great sound thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching - love your ambient work!
Very nicely filmed first of all and what a sound, wonderful. Right up my street as I am sure you are aware. Look forward to more like this.
Thanks a lot :) There will be more. I wanted to a find a better way to visualize those dark ambient videos. Still photos are not very satisfying. So I started filming outside with a frame rate of 100fps allowing me to slow down the material.
And since we are all gearheads, showing gear should work too. And, yes, the blue tint might be inspired by other Yorkshire tea drinking synthesists :)
Sounds great!
Thank you, glad you like it 🤗
That was great! One of your best pieces yet! What was the deal with the baby crying in the background? That was creepy lol. :D
Thanks Ben. Yeah, I wanted to add some disturbing sounds and found the baby in the Logic Pro sample library. I am not exactly sure why I did that - but it seems to work ;)
