Agreed. Pray for your children in a state of grace. Go to confession, pray the rosary daily, do the 5 first Saturdays, pray the binding prayer in case your children are under diabolic influence and dont be afraid to speak up and let them know you love them and want them to come to an understanding of the truth for their sake and their children.

Paul doesn't stop there. The next verse says we should walk in the good works of Jesus. Epehesisans 2:10 : For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. In other words, if you have faith in the Lord, you are saved into doing good works by him and his Grace.

      @@Justin-kn6dp . The point of ephesians 2:8-9
is that salvation is a free gift from God. We can't earn it nor deserve it nor work for it. If we worked for it it would be a wage. A gift is just handed to you free of charge. Someone else paid for it. As in Jesus dieing on the cross shedding His blood as payment for our sins. Once we are saved we get to do good works. But works are not required for salvation nor are works part of salvation.

@@ewaldradavich7307 Right, but my point is many people seem to ignore verse 10 and thinking that they shouldn't do good works for God after receiving his free gift, when it's clear we should do good works as a result of our faith in what he has done for us and has offered us. That's all I'm getting at, not trying to tie it to salvation as part of his gift. I'm talking more about the faith itself as a result of his Grace.

      Correct.
We need to know the definitions of what is faith in faith alone. What are included and what are not included in faith alone.
Proper definition of faith alone will simplify the discussion on faith and works for salvation.
No one says works alone can procure salvation.
No one says one can be saved by doing works of the law. So these two aspects are non issue.
Apart from the definition of what is faith alone, we may also deliberate on what is works and why works matters to salvation.
Here works refers to works of charity in action and having the right disposition like having love for God and fellow men, forgiving others, repent of one's sins, asking for forgiveness etc.
As per Jesus' teaching, we are to do good works as a duty. Doing them pleases God and because God is pleased, God will show his mercy, kindness and give grace. In other words, good works are to be done as a duty with the objective of pleasing God. God is not obligated to reward us for doing our duty. But disobeying God will attract God's wrath.
In the end, we are saved by love.
Without faith, we cannot love. But without love, faith is dead.

Jesus also taught - No Works - No Salvation.
“Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’
“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’
“And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.” The Book Of Matthew

The good works universalism at the end seems very heretical. People who know about Jesus -- that is everybody alive today! -- and then reject Him for Buddha or Muhammed, etc. are breaking the first commandment. Jesus said if, "you deny me before men, I will deny you before the Father." He also said, "Apart from me you can do nothing." Buddha is not going to save you. Neither is Muhammed. A Buddhist or a Muslim (an atheist for that matter) might seem on the outside a nice person who follows his conscience, but one really be good without the grace of Jesus Christ? I don't think so.

    • @kdmdlo
      @kdmdlo 2 года назад +5

I'm not saying a Muslim or a Buddhist will or won't be saved. But my suggestion for you is, "judge not, lest ye be judged". In other words, stay in your lane and let God deal with judgement. Just pray that all people may be brought into the fullness of the light, through Christ's body the Church.

@@kdmdlo You don't understand God or the Bible. Jesus -- God -- said, "narrow is the way to salvation and few there are who find it." That takes the guess work out of it. He also said very clearly, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me." That also leaves no room for guess work -- and no room for Muslims or Buddhists or anyone who explicitly deny Jesus. He said, "If you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father in Heaven." Pretty clear. It is not I who am doing the judging, my friend. It is our Lord. I'm only listening to what He said, whereas you refuse to do so and are actually denying what He said. It is my lane to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is your lane too. I suggest you follow that lane, for it is the narrow way to Heaven, as Jesus Christ Himself said. Listen and obey.

As for the rest, you simply don't know the mind of God any more than I do. And, while His justice is important ... so too is His infinite divine mercy. My suggestion would be to do your best, encourage others to love and serve God (and their neighbors) and stop with the judgement. Pax Christi.

This seems like an inaccurate portrayal of how protestants view sola fide, grace, salvation, etc. Atleast from a reformed protestant view. When he references ezekiel in how it is *God* that causes us to act in accordance with His statutes, how is this not the same as what Protestants state? Thats how I was taught it in my reformed understanding. Its definitely not the “presumptuous, lukewarm” characterization this guy gives at the beginning as an extreme. That “lukewarm, God will do everything I do nothing” sort of attitude is what other protestants accuse reformed of being, but this is not what they state or live out when they claim irresistible grace or eternal security, I would point to Romans 6 as response, as why else would Paul need to address this accusation from devout Jews that desired works of the law for justification? Paul needed to specify that this free grace was not a license to sin, yet why need the specification? Because a salvation by grace is truly an act fully of God, not of the person. Protestants stress works of righteousness just the same yet the purpose of them is never in regard to Justification. I mean this was Luther’s whole point, the initial Justification is the full justification, and the subsequent walk of faith is not to earn that previous justification but to live in obedience to the Spirit’s sanctification. Its intrinsically different in view, but outwardly it looks the same when comparing a faithful catholic to a faithful protestant.

    • @ricoparadiso
      @ricoparadiso Год назад

Just to ask plainly: How can you state Salvation is by Grace(unearned favor) and a “full work of God” as you claim when good deeds that sustain this “Justification after initial justification” are by nature transactional/earned, how is this not contradictory? A genuine faith is accompanied by works of faith but every informed protestant will tell you this is by nature of the Holy Spirit’s salvific/transformative nature in us, not of ourselves striving to upkeep right-standing with God. This reality is how we view verses like James 2 for example.

"BY Grace, are ye saved through Faith, not of your works" (where the works refers to the Grace & not the Faith)
The Grace comes from God in the form.of thw holy Communion, taken directly into the mouth & not receiving in the hands, cause hands denote the wages of our works.
Now Faith, is the revelation of "Give unto God what is to God" , even as it is written , it is impossible to please God without Faith, & if God be not pleased there be no saving .
Faith has its works within , for as is writers Faith without works is dead"
And that which specifically constitute the Faith is denoted by the Bronze Image of St.Peter in Peters Basilica so it is ::
"The Communion which is the Grace is received through Faith"

JESUS DIED TO ATONE FOR OUR SINS & OPEN THE GATES OF HEAVEN AGAIN FOR US SINCE GOD CLOSED IT DUE TO ADAM & EVE'S SIN/DISOBEDIENCE. JESUS DYING FOR OUR US DOES NOT GUARANTEE WE WILL GET TO HEAVEN IF WE KEEP SINNING & DOING NOTHING TO SHOW GOD WE LOVE HIM FIRST & FOREMOST. PART OF LOVING GOD IS HELPING OUR FAMILY & OTHERS TO ALSO LOVE HIM. THIS TAKES WORK. THE MOST BASIC WORK THAT ALL CHRISTIANS DO IS PRAY & ATTEND MASS/CHURCH. THEN OTHERS DO EVEN MORE BY EVANGELIZING, HELPING THE POOR & DOING VOLUNTEER WORK IN OUR CHURCH COMMUNITY TO HELP OTHERS TO GROW IN LOVING GOD. THOSE ARE ALL WORKS. FAITH & WORKS, WORK HAND IN HAND. BOTH ARE NEEDED FOR SALVATION BUT ALWAYS BY THE GRACE OF GOD. NARROW IS THE WAY TO SALVATION/HEAVEN. JESUS DID SAY THAT. IF ALL ARE SAVE WHY WOULD JESUS SAY IT IS NARROW PATH TO HEAVEN & WIDE IS THE PATH TO HELL.

@Reality Check Jesus established the Catholic Church. Jesus protects His Church through the Holy Spirit. Jesus' Church cannot teach error in matters of faith and morals. It isn't possible.
Jesus' Church will last until the end of time. It is 1,989 years old and will last forever.
He did NOT create ANY Protestant denominations. Not a single one. Those are all man-made. Invented by humans who disagree with Jesus' Church and deny the authority Jesus gave to His one, holy, catholic, and Apostolic Church.
There are tens of thousands of Protestant denominations that all believe and teach different things. None of them have ANY authority to definitively interpret anything in Scripture. There is no higher/ultimate power to which ANY Protestant denomination can appeal when they have a disagreement. Consequently, when there is a disagreement about theology or any other matter, someone just invents their own denomination. No permission needed. In fact, all one needs to do to invent their own Protestant denomination is follow these three simple steps:
      1. Find an empty room.
      2. Set up some folding chairs.
      3. Find some people who will believe what you tell them.
That's it! It happens all the time.
Jesus told the Apostles (who were the first Catholics); if you have a disagreement with your brother that can't be resolved in front of two or three witnesses, to take the matter to the Church. His Church. The Catholic Church. That was the only Church that existed at that time. Why did He say this? Because He gave His Church the authority to settle questions about Christianity.
It makes perfect sense. If He is giving us His Church, then it MUST have His authority. And there must be a guarantee that we can all accept that His Church will not mislead, or misguided, or lie in all matters of faith and morals.
