Why Catholicism is WRONG

  • Why you should reject the PAPACY and the Roman Catholic GOSPEL of earning salvation.
Hear how HISTORY and SCRIPTURE both debunk Roman Catholic claims. The truth about Roman Catholicism is that it has no basis for claiming to speak with authority and the gospel it proclaims is not biblical.
    IN THIS TEACHING:
The "Church Fathers" don't support Roman Catholic claims
The Bible refutes the idea of a pope
History shows that Papal Succession is untrue
Roman Catholicism gradually invented the role of "pope" and finds no reasonable justification for it.

@@bridgefin Unfortunately for you she was raised Catholic and educated in a Catholic school. If then she was a weak Catholic (informationally) then it would be the fault of the Catholic church in question.
I has also deconstructed my raised church tradition (Evangelical assemblies of God). All the way to atheist and back to Christianity on very basic points Christ and him crucified etc.
I did with her what I did for myself. I Took the statement of faith from the denomination and compared it to the bible. Reading commentaries on interpretations pro and con. All the while trying to keep cultural context in mind. I am happy to admit when Luther was wrong, or right the same as any Pope, Pastor, Minister, and Priest.
You then categorize points of doctrine into 3 sections: Biblical, Extra Biblical, and Un-Biblical. You then ignore the first two and focus on the last. You then focus on educating your self enough to change "appears contradictory", to "actually contradicts". Like Calvinism's double predestination.
I would be careful before accepting any "interpretation's" from heaven as well, unless it came from God (any of the three parts will do).

Me: Ah, so you chose the bible to be the decision criteria. Does the bible ever claim to be such or does the bible say that the church is the pillar and foundation of truth? You just used the wrong criteria.
Let me suggest to you how a follower of Christ should do that. First you find out if Jesus ever thought to establish a church. If he did then you ask if he gave that church any protection. Well, he did say that the gates of Hell would never prevail against it. Did he ever promise that it would get doctrines right? He did promise that the spirit of truth would be with its leaders forever. Then the final question is real easy.....How in the world could I pick some other church and still say that I want to be saved?

"you chose the bible to be the decision criteria" So do you if you actually care about the claims laid out in the text. The Bible does have them you know. It would be like forming a company with bylaws then violating them. If church doctrine contradicts the text then either they were Extremely stupid in adding them or they just wanted power beyond that of their founding charter.
Jesus ascended into heaven prior to the founding of the church in Israel and Christianity spread out from there. Conflating church with "Roman Catholic" is Pure equivocation.

I grew up Catholic, tried reading the Bible but it was JUST a book... it had stories and that's it... often it was vague... and I was dependent on my priest to explain... but very few wisdom are every shared based on scripture... and homilies are often personal recounts or "whatever agenda" is being discussed... very few from the scriptures were delivered during countless of homilies at mass... My life wasn't changing, I led and bathed in sin... I cussed and saw the world in a very human - me centered state. Sure I would do acts of mercies but never were they really from my heart. Catholicism gave grace by pieces through me working out my salvation and trying to appease an angry "god". Yes, I knew John 3:16 but never did I know the gravity of what it meant to me... I prayed to the saints and had a talisman on me of a particular saint blessed in Rome... to protect me... I said that I wasn't worshiping them and these statues were just reminders... oddly I kiss them and touch them... put my trust on them to mediate my prayers to Jesus then to God.
I never knew any Catholic, especially my priests, who lead me to Jesus himself... people lead me to Mary, to the saints... and pointing me to the church... the pope... but Jesus always felt far... Often than not... most of my friends are Catholic like I am... and we did things that will make going to mass is like being burned in hell... went to girly bars and cuss then on Sunday we will be at mass... maybe do confession but will go through the entire cycle again and again. No one really pointed me to Christ... it had a semblance of it... Jesus was a background figure like Luke Skywalker was in The Force Awaken and The Last Jedi. There was something always ahead of Jesus... God was vengeful... I guess that was why... vengefulness is a character of Catholicism... when they condemn anyone who disagrees.
One day (I was 28, I am not 44), was invited to a Bible study... imagine a Catholic like me... doesn't want to go to Bible study... I felt dirty and will probably burn. Took weeks, months before I thought to have it a try... and it wasn't what I was expecting.
Eventually, I encountered Jesus and I understood what being a sinner is all about... what sin really is... I never in my entire life have I been so honest to God that I was crying and admitted to needing a savior. I finally understood what John 3:16 really means... from that day on... my life changed. Now when I read the Bible... it is alive... it isn't just a book filled with stories... it is a guide to what matters and that is knowing and having a relationship with the one who should have center stage in my life and that is Jesus Christ.
I tell this out of love... for Christian's... pray for your Roman Catholic friends. Just like me I was blind and continue to be blind until the day I was "born again" (surrendered my life to the Lordship of Christ).
Christ should be the only center of our being... and not co-equal to any organized group as what the RCC is saying... because as much as any Catholic will deny this... the RCC is at equal importance to Jesus himself, that apart from it... even if you hold Jesus at the highest esteem... you are condemned and called a heretic.
Why will a group of people condemn you, when Jesus himself said that He did not come into the world to condemn it? If Jesus said by the fruit (character) people will know who are truly His disciples... what fruit is being shown then?

I was born and raised in a Catholic family. My mom is a devout Catholic, serving the church, doing rosary with those images made of wood or stones. She's also doing procession of the images of Mary, bowing down and touching the image with handkerchief. I grew with all these things that my mom is doing which doesn't really bothers me because I am not a religious person. I would say my faith with the God that we believed in is somewhat 10%. I didn't even know the concept of "God" came from, didn't even know the Bible. But after 43 years of my life, God made me realised that He's doing miracles in my life even without knowing Him well. He always provided an exit to my adulterous situation. (cried too much 😭😭😭) So I started going to the church which is the Catholic church. With a few weeks going every Sunday, I've felt something wrong seeing people kneeling down in front of the image of Mary (a grotto outside of the church). Then I started reading and studying the Bible, of course with the guide of the Holy Spirit. God is gracious with wisdom when you asked of it and everything it make sense to me. God is truly faithful with His promises, He gave me a new heart and a new spirit (Ezekiel 36:26) I am born again in spirit ( John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23, 2 Corinthians 5:17, John 3:6) He made me realised that from Heaven, He came down on earth to save us, and that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (John 14:6, Luke 2:11, 1 Timothy 1:15, Titus 2:13) From 10% to a million percent faith.😊😊😊

I believed in the Bible because I know this are the true Words of God. There are lots of deceiver in this world sister, I advice you to study the faith you have now, one advice which the Bible teaches is to look for the fruit of the religious leader. @simplelifewithgod3227 Investigate the Bible for yourself through a correct Protestant church because they have bewildering and contradictory interpretations of the Bible. You will need to figure out what is a correct Protestant church. You will soon discover this if you are a serious student of the Bible and serious about your faith. Some that go by the name "full Gospel" might be good. But you might end up investigating numerous churches before you find one you can agree with. The moderator of this Y.T. channel also hates many Protestant denominations. It is a game some Protestants play with each other. So you are advised to search for a more reliable and educated source of info than random Y.T. channels. Reading the Bible on your own can only take you a short distance in understanding. It is advisable to find a loving local church community to support you. May I suggest you be humble in your private search and do not make public assumptions or judgements about the Spirituality of any other person. You know nothing about me or the faith I have now. I am simply trying to point out some facts for your consideration.

Drifted away from Catholicism around 2017. Wish I'd had this video then. He's right in saying a lot of Catholics don't know Catholic theology. I didn't, even with 6 years of Catholic education under my belt. Now, Catholicism gave me a great foundation of faith. I was proud to be Catholic. I knew who Jesus was, I loved, trusted, and believed in the Lord. I'd been baptized, but I didn't quite know how to follow Him, and heaven felt like an impossible thing to achieve. Looking back, it was. I'm still learning how to follow, but how incredible it is to know just the true gravity of the freedom that's been given to us through Christ. Romans 5:1-5 was, and is, a revelation for me. Praise the Lord for the journey.

They did it in their own image fooling themselves into thinking it was in the image of Jesus. Jesus was in the temple alot but he was active as well he taught us that we are the 7th temple the heart is the temple of the holy spirit and through christ we receive the holy spirit. However not a justification just an understanding, they can be seen as an example of how not to practice worship. The Bible is the word of God the holy spirit is the spirit of God and our bodies are the temple of God. Pretty straightforward.

However, it does say, “what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

Of all the world's religions, Protestantism is the leader by far in proclaiming the love of God to mankind. This is meritorious. However, this is a one-way street, as Protestants stop there and don't consider the necessity of reciprocating or returning that love. That would smack of Works which are unnecessary as they believe that they have already been saved by Grace which is God's Love. As a result Protestantism has been down-graded to just a religious philosophy - a hearer and not doer of the Word thus deceiving themselves - James 1:22. While there is belief in Christ to be sure, there is no substance, no forms of worship and thanksgiving to our God Jesus for His works of creation and redemption
Catholicism, on the other hand, stresses more on our obligation to return God's Love in Works. The Catholic Catechism states that God created us - to know, love and serve - God - in this world and to be happy with Him in the next. That is why Catholics attend Mass which includes Holy Communion - known as Eucharist, which is the Greek word for Thanksgiving - as well as Eucharistic Adorations, Stations of the Cross, Benedictions, etc
John 21:25 states that Jesus did many other things which the written word is incapable of recording. As a result 2 traditions ensued - oral and written - 2 Thess. 2:15 - which are of equal merit. By "Sola Scriptura" Protestants are only receiving part of Divine Truth thus resulting in so many *confused* denominations.
The fact is that the Bible itself declares that it is part of divine truth, not the sum total. Again, the Bible only records Christianity in the 1st Century and we are in the 21st C. Recall that Jesus declared -John 5:17- “My Father never stops working, and so I keep working, too.” For God is a Living God. And the Bible declares that the ( Catholic ) church of the Living God is the Pillar and Bulwark of Truth - 1 Timothy 3:15.
For Jesus, our Living God, appeared to many (Catholic ) saints and urged them to pray for others - Check the internet for the 15 Prayers and Promises made by Jesus to St Brigid of Sweden in the 14th C. The 1st Promise given by Jesus to anybody reciting these prayers continuously for 1 year was the deliverance of 15 Souls from their lineage from Purgatory. By "Sola Scriptura" Protestants are only receiving part of Divine Truth thus resulting in so many denominations. The Catholic Church was founded on Peter's declaration of Jesus' Divinity - Matt. 16:16 and Jesus' promise - Matt 16:17-19- and holds to both traditions. It is the Church of the Living God and the Pillar and Bulwark of Truth - 1 Timothy 3:15Moreover, Jesus guaranteed - Matthew 16:18 - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my= Church; = and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it
(( Note - The Bible itself declares that the ( Catholic ) church is the Pillar and ground of Truth, against which Hell itself will not prevail ))
Jesus' Sermon on the Mount - one of His loftiest teachings - states
Matt. 7. [21] Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that -- does -- the will of my Father which is in heaven.
From this we recognize that it takes Faith to declare - Lord, Lord - but it is Works - doing - the Father's Will that will take us to Heaven.
That is why Jesus commanded - not suggested - that we carry out and - do - all that He commanded - Matthew 28:19-20 - especially our Love for God and Neighbour, as Jesus commanded - not suggested
What is the purpose of Scripture - that is The Bible ?
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work
Here Paul was declaring that Scripture was God-inspired, profitable for both a belief system as well as an instruction guide so that Christians may be completely and thoroughly equipped for - every - GOOD WORK - 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
Thus Jesus, God and Judge - John 5:22 - and the Catholic Church and the Bible stress on the need for Works. Even the Final Judgement - Matthew 25: 31-46 - confirms that Works of Mercy will save us - For I was hungry, and you gave Me to eat ....etc.... Come, inherit My Father's kingdom.
Because we are responsible for all sins after Baptism, Jesus on the very day of His Resurrection from the dead, breathed His Spirit and - empowered - all the Apostles to forgive - or retain - Sins - John 20:22-23. This breathing was the same as the Breath that gave the life-force to the earth-created Adam - Genesis 2:7. Therefore Catholics confess to their Priests, as Apostles don't live forever. Confession thus restores the Life-Force to souls deadened by sin, especially Deadly ( Mortal ) sins - James 5:16-17. Protestants don't confess and thereby retain their sins.
And because we still retain our Fallen Natures, Jesus has given us His Flesh to eat and Blood to drink as - Real Food and Drink - for Eternal Life - John 6:53-58. After all, we become what we eat and drink. And God wants us to be Spiritual People. Therefore, Paul cautions that we should partake of Holy Communion - worthily - 1 Corinthians 11:27.
Acts 2:42 states that the 1st Christian community - devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles, to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers. Our Catholic Mass has originated from this, with readings from the Bible in place of the - long dead - Apostles' teachings
      - ( continued )

The reason why Catholics and Protestants don't agree on Scripture is because Protestants have missed the Gospel message. The 4 books of the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are titled - The Gospel - according to Matthew / Mark / Luke / John. This was the same Gospel message revealed to Paul by Jesus - Galatians 1:12 - which reflected the Teachings and Doings of Jesus and which Paul - proclaimed verbally - on his missionary journeys. Later on, after Paul had received reports from faithful and trustworthy members, he sent out letters to the churches he had established to commend them or to correct them and even provide more insight and clarification. The Bible titles these letters as - Epistles - to the various churches of Corinth, Philippi, etc. Thus, these Epistles were Paul's means of keeping in touch with, as well as providing a Review/Report of the status of the churches he wrote to and to whom he had previously preached - verbally - the Gospel. Sadly, Protestants have based their - Doctrines - and belief systems on these commentaries and Epistles - instead - of the 4 Gospels which will be the basis of all judgement by Jesus, God and Judge - John 5:22.
The 4 Gospels speak of Tough Love - If you love Me, keep My commandments - and - If you wish to be My disciple, take up your Cross daily, deny yourself and follow Me - and - More - is expected of Christians to whom much has been entrusted - Luke 12:48. , And, Jesus' Parables are often prefaced with - the kingdom of Heaven - or - the Reign of God - and require us to multiply our talents, become more fruitful " soil " as well as become wise virgins carrying oil = which represent " Good Works =, etc Moreover, Jesus declared: “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” (Matt. 24:13.) Therefore, Paul and Barnabas encouraged the people to persevere in the Faith with this instruction -We must - endure - many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.- Acts 14:22.
Let's look at some historical facts. Christ died between 30 and 40 AD. The earliest Gospels, Matthew and Mark, were written after 70 AD. The last book of the Bible, Revelation, was written by John within the last 2 decades of the 1st Century. Pauls' missionary journeys were around 48 to 60 AD. Part of the NT -Muratorian Canon - was probably compiled in 180 AD, whereas the Bible as we know it, was compiled much later. This means that, for the most part of the first 2 to 3 centuries after Christ's Ascension, the Oral Tradition was the guiding force of the early Christians. By "Sola Scriptura" Protestants are only receiving part of Divine Truth. Catholics, on the other hand, hold the whole truth
Moreover, before Guttenberg discovered the Printing Press in the 15th C, the Bible was laboriously copied by hand by Catholic clergy and monks. It wasn't done by the rich who had other preoccupations, nor by the poor who did not possess the learning - nor by Protestants or other non-Catholics. Also, Catholic St. Jerome, who died early in the 5th Century, was the first to translate the then existing Greek and Hebrew versions into Latin - the common language of the day. Thus it was Catholics and Catholicism that produced the Bible
Matthew chapter 4 tells of Jesus' 40 days/nights fasting and Satan's temptation. Satan mocked Jesus : If You are the - Son of God - you don't need to trouble yourself when you could have all the bread to eat, take injury-free risks, and have unlimited power and prosperity. Jesus dismissed Satan. Jesus wanted to show what path Christians must take - If you wish to be My disciples, take up your Cross daily, deny yourself and follow Me.
It is not difficult to see whose voice Protestants have listened to. The recent popular - Prosperity Doctrine - taken up by many denominations is an example.
Lent is the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday - not counting Sundays - which is set aside by Catholics to observe a heightened period of Prayer, Fasting, Almsgiving and Good Works. And the month of November is set aside for remembering the dead. Moreover, Catholics are required to attend Mass every week-end and urged to confess their sins and receive Holy Communion frequently. There are Catholics who fast once - some even twice - a week on just bread and water. There are those who do various penances and it is not uncommon to see some who walk on their knees at pilgrimage sites like Fatima, Portugal.

Instead of following Jesus' commands in the 4 Gospels they have invested in cherry-picked passages like - Saved by Grace - (Ephesians 2:8-9) and Romans 10:9.

By declaring that only Faith is necessary for Salvation, they have effectively cancelled the Cross - the very symbol of Christianity. Yet even Paul, like a faithful Christian, boasted of the Cross -Galatians 6:14,
Obviously there is a hierarchy of Truths - with the Gospels being the highest and the very - Basis - of judgement by Jesus, God and Judge - John 5:22. By ignoring this fact, the question remains - Will Protestants be Raptured ? Will they be Saved ???

"I will give YOU (singular in Greek) the Keys to the Kingdom..." The Bible says in James 2:24 "See how a person is justified by works and NOT BY FAITH ALONE." All you gave above is ridiculous Protest-ant anti-Catholic propaganda and it is sad. Don't believe what protesting men tell you. Think for yourself. If you truly have the Holy Spirit living in you, if you really have Jesus 24/7, as I as a Catholic have, you would have the gift of discernment and of Wisdom. You are parroting things that are not there.
1st. In Mat 16 Jesus is addressing a male using proper Greek grammar. He could not call him petra because it is feminine. There is no way to write it that way. He is addressing a man directly so He calls him rock-masculine, Petros. In reality, it was written later in Greek, but Jesus spoke Aramaic and so did the apostles. He would have said Kepha both times because there is no gender distiction in Aramaic, not Petros or Petra. If you understand the language, Jesus actually said, you are Rock, and on this Rock I will build my Church. Even in Greek, it is singular. So he said, your are Rock (singular) and on this Rock (singular) I will build my (singular) Church (singular). The only Church you can trace to this moment in actual history is the Catholic Church. Do you think Jesus is a liar? This foolish little pebble stuff is a cheap false Protest-ant apologetic. Even most real Protestant scholars laugh at it. Petros doesn't mean little pebble in Greek.
In Mat 18, Jesus is giving binding and loosing authority to the other apostles (the first Bishops of the Universal Church--Catholic means universal from the Greek) in communion with Peter. Jesus is not taking away what He said in Mat 16 but building on it. Jesus gives the Keys to the Kingdom, which is a Jewish idiom for the Prime Minister's position to Peter alone. It was an office as Peter says when they replaced Judas chair with Mathias in Acts, "let another take his office." Also as we see Paul tell Timothy to choose men to follow (with authority). Look at John 1. The first thing Jesus does when He meets Simon (Peter) is He names him Rock. Cephas means rock. It is a transliteration of the Aramaic Kepha.
So you have no problem with James? Look at 2:24 again. He said your justification is "...not by faith alone." So you are a Catholic then theologically and you realize Martin Luther was wrong?

Why would there be letters written to everyday people addressing them and telling them about sound doctrine and the nature of salvation only to be told that we can't really interpret it and make any evaluations on what's being said? The core method of how much of the NT is written was in letter form and read aloud for everyone to hear.

Trust me, NO point arguing with catholics about this because ALL catholics are born into religious bondage which they do not control just like any other world religion (Muslim, Buddhist, Hinduism).
Salvation takes place when the Holy Spirit wakes you up from among the dead and your dead spiritual eyes have been opened. If you can relate to this, praise God! If you don't, read the conversation between Nicodemus and Jesus. You can be very religious and not be born again.

Ok so I'm a little late reading these comments as most were written a year ago but here's mine. I am a Christian of no denomination. I love all my brother's and sister's in Christ. I read the Bible and It opened my eyes to the truth. The Holy Spirit came upon me to realise how we are truly saved and who Jesus truly is. My question to Catholics: Are you afraid of the Holy Spirit to help you understand what scripture says? Do you need the Catholic Church to interpret scripture to you?? I struggled to understand some of scripture myself but I did my research, some from Catholics, some from Christians outside of Catholicism. I have to say there are more Godly people who understand scripture outside the Catholic Church then in it. You can see the Holy Spirit is truly inside of them. Again, I ask my Christian brother's and sister's from the Catholic denomination: Are you afraid of the Holy Spirit taking over and opening your eyes to scripture? Or do you need an organisation such as the Catholic Church to explain it to you?? John 3:3 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” I pray for you. God bless

*R Catholicism has nothing to do with God and His Words. R Catholic Church contradicts Scriptures in every possible ways!*
      1. Catholics say Mary was sinless. But BIBLE says Mary offered a sinner's offering. She was a sinner. Bible says Mary needed a Saviour. Lk 2:23-24, Lev 12:6-8, Rom 3:10.
      2. Catholics say clergies must be celibate. Yet BIBLE says Peter (supposed R Church first leader) had mother in law. Bible says celibacy is not a qualification for clergies. Mat 8:14-15, Mar 1:30-31, Luk 4:38-39.
      3. Catholics say Mary was forever virgin. Yet BIBLE says Jesus had brothers and sisters. Mary was not perpetually virgin. Mk 6:3, Mat 13:55, Mat 27:56, Mar 6:3, Mar 15:40, Mar 15:47.
      4. Catholics say confess to R priests in a box. BIBLE says nothing about confessing to priests in a box. Bible says confess to GOD only. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6, Romans 10:9-10.
      5. Catholics say drink of the physical blood of Jesus. Yet OT and NT both say do not drink blood. Acts 15, Lev 7:26.
      6. Catholics say pray to passed on Mary and "saints". Yet BIBLE says do not contact the dead. NT Church did not record a single case of NT believers asking passed on saints to pray for them. Deut 18:11, Isaiah 8:19.
      7. Catholics make and bow down to statues. BIBLE says do not bow down to graven images (statues). Deut 4, Exo 20:4-5.
      8. Catholics sprinkles “holy water”. But NT Church of the Bible mentioned nothing about “holy water”. There was no record of any Apostles sprinkling “holy water” on believers. Catholics claimed “holy water” came from OT. Yet Num 5:17 says “holy water” was water used to test adulterous women in OT temple. Hardly the same. Those were for Old Covenant Jews. Not New Testament Christians.
      9. Catholics say Peter was pope - bishop of all bishops. Yet BIBLE says Peter was just a leader of the Jerusalem Church. Bible says nothing of the office of bishop of bishops. Gal 2:9, Mat 16:18.
      10. Catholics say there is a seat of Peter. Yet BIBLE says nothing about it. Jesus said “not to lord over others”.
      11. Catholics has clergy priesthood. Bible says clergy priesthood was done away with in New Testament. There is no clergy priesthood in NT. Heb 7:27, 9:12, 10:10.
      12. Catholics preaches Works Salvation (faith + good works + partake R sacraments + submit to R pontiff + be in R Church + devote to Mary = to be saved). Yet Bible says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Bible says Works Salvation is cursed. Gal 1:8-9. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10.
      13. Catholics says they must do Penance to atone for their sins. Yet Bible says repent, confess and sins will be forgiven. Catholic Bible changes the word “repentance” in NT into “penance”. Original Greek NT does not use or mean the word penance. Penance = work to atone for sins. Repentance = change of heart. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6.
      14. Catholics say Mary went straight to heaven without dying. Yet Bible says nothing about it.
      15. Catholics say Islam and Christianity have the same GOD. Yet Islam doesn't believe in death and resurrection of Jesus and Trinity.

I am interested in what Mike says about St. Peter. In the books of Acts it talks about how when something good happened to Cornelius he knelt down and worshipped St. Peter. Peter pulled Cornelius to his feet and said "Stand up you. Do not worship me. I am only a man like you yourself are. Worship your God in Heaven." I am an Anglican Episcopalian and I have read the 39 Articles of the Church of England, and Mike here justifies the substance of the 39 Articles. One more thing. On the subject of the Papal Selection, the Roman Catholic church claims that "God is not elected". God may not be elected but the Pope sure is. Although the Vatican claims that "The Hand of God presides over the conclave to make sure that the right person is elected Pope". However, there is nothing in Biblical scripture that shows that "The Holy Ghost attends meetings, or helps influence their outcomes." In fact in the 39 Articles it is stated that meetings and Church Councils are human contrivances and thus are prone to human faults.

It's about our relationship with Him.
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that He was raised from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Jesus the Christ paid our debt (for sin) in full. We just have to believe in Him and what He did for us.
God the Father, saw the travail of His soul and was satisfied, the debt was paid in full.
God raised up Christ from the dead seated Him at His right hand, gave Him a name above all names.
The question still remains "Whom do you say that I am?"

I have never been a catholic. Still, I have married TWO who were formerly catholics. Both times I have tried to bring the true Christian Gospel to my spouse and to her family, for I loved them with the love one must have toward toward those who have given their faith to any unworthy authority, instead of Jesus Christ our Savior. I heard THIS gospel, it is the one that I learned as a child. I put it away as a young man, in in error, I made mistakes (one of which being to marry the first of my two wives) and in time, paid a heavy price, in many ways. Also, I have two children who have paid and are paying that same cost, though I would rescue them from it if I only COULD. I lost my children thru divorce that I never wanted, nevertheless was forced upon me(us) due to the selfishness that was the wages of my disobedience and sin , in having taken for myself one not given me as a perfect Gift of God. I next lived in sadness, brokenness, and depression for years, but came again under the teaching of the True Gospel ( thanks, Dad!). Eventually, I came to know of one who, though also a catholic, had come to know that her mate must NOT be one. We did not marry instantly as I had done before, but subjected our own desires to patience with the God in whom was our trust. He brought us together in His time, and made for me a wonderful Gift, one I can't say I deserved. I was single for 15 years; I am so thankful that it wasn't 40! My wife now is former catholic, not because she was converted due to marriage w a Christian, but because she was led "out of her" even before she could know of me, by One she knew not. Only after her coming to know and experience the drawing of the Holy Spirit, did she ever find a profile on a website that was similar to that which was her hearts true desire, a friend, not of Catholicism, but Christian. For this she seriously limited her prospects, but little could she know that I had similarly limited my own possible prospects, by having changed wording of my profile to describe what He wanted me to seek, namely a single virgin Filipina looking for Marriage, with a non-Catholic CHRISTIAN man. ✝️ THIS IS the way to find one's soul mate, that is be obedient to the guide of the Holy Spirit, and be patient to wait for Him to move in His time, then accept w gladness His perfect Gift. I will testify to His faithfulness for all of my life, and pray that my children be spared from learning the hard lessons resulting from ignorance of their Creator!

The Church operates more than 140,000 schools, 10,000 orphanages, 5,000 hospitals and some 16,000 other health clinics. Caritas, the umbrella organisation for Catholic aid agencies, estimates that spending by its affiliates totals between £2 billion and £4 billion, making it one of the biggest aid agencies in the world.
Caritas does not include development spending by a host of religious orders and other Catholic charities, while most of the 200,000 Catholic parishes around the world operate their own small-scale charitable projects which are never picked up in official figures. Establishing like-for-like comparisons is hard, but there can be little doubt that in pretty much every field of social action, from education to health to social care, the Church is the largest and most significant non-state organisation in the world.

    • @1234poppycat
      @1234poppycat 7 лет назад

I will explain Exodus to the Catholic haters who lie ... including the person who posted this video ... He claimed the Catholic Church had perniciously omitted what he referred to as the second commandment-“You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth” (Exodus 20:4)-in order to keep the Catholic faithful in darkness as to the truth that they should not have statues in their churches.Despite appearances, we know Exodus 20 is not a prohibition against making “any likeness of anything” in a strict sense because we clearly see God either commanding or praising the making of images and statues in multiple biblical texts (see Exodus 25:18; Numbers 21:8-9; I Kings 6:23-28, 9:3). Just five chapters after this so-called prohibition against statues, for example, God commands Moses to make statues representing two angels to be placed over the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant:And you shall make two cherubim of gold… The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another…. And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark… There I will meet with you (Ex. 25:18-22).There are five key points to be made concerning this common misunderstanding among Protestants as well as many quasi-Christian sects.1. Exodus 20:4 is part of the first commandment that begins in verse 3 and stretches through part of verse five:You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.Verses 3 and 5 make clear that this commandment is not simply condemning making statues; It is condemning making gods that you bow down to or serve. In a word, this first commandment forbids idolatry, i.e., the worship of anything or anyone other than God. The Catholic Church condemns this as well.2. By lifting out part of the first commandment appearing to prohibit the making of “any likeness of anything,” not only do you have God contradicting himself in later commanding the making of statues, but you also end up making the first two commandments repetitive. They are both essentially condemning idolatry.3. Though the commandments are said to be “ten” in Exodus 34:28, they are not numbered by the inspired authors of Sacred Scripture. If you count the “you shall nots” along with the two positive commandments of keeping holy the Sabbath and honoring father and mother, you end up with 13 commandments. So the actual numbering of the commandments depends upon which “you shall nots” you lump together as one commandment and which ones you separate. And in the end, which “you shall nots” you lump together depends upon your theology. 4. We believe the Catholic Church alone has the authority to give to God’s people an authoritative list of the Ten Commandments. And the Catechism of the Catholic Church does exactly that. At least, it gives us a list as a sure norm for us.5. The problem with creating a second “commandment” where there actually is not one really comes to the fore at the bottom of the list. The common Protestant listing of the Ten Commandments combines coveting your neighbor’s wife, the Catholic ninth commandment, with coveting your neighbor’s property, the Catholic tenth commandment. And really it just can't be any other way because you run out of room. I can’t imagine many women being happy with being equated to property! Some may argue at this point: “Well, that is what the Old Testament teaches. We're just going with what the inspired author teaches." Are you really? Let’s take a look. Now, it is true that Exodus 20’s version of the 10 commandments appears to place both women and servants in the place of property. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.I say it seems because Genesis 1:26-27 does reveal God himself to have said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” There is an essential equality between male and female revealed even in the Old Testament, though this revelation is not as clear and unambiguous as what we have in the New Testament. Exodus 20 certainly does anything but add to the clarity of the point. When I say the revelation of this essential equality is not as clear in the Old Testament, we need to understand why this is so. The Old Testament consists of 46 books written over a period of ca. 1500 years, representing a progressive revelation. Hebrews 1:1-2 says, “In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets.” The Greek word for “many ways” is polumeros, which means “in many portions;” God gave his revelation in piecemeal fashion over the centuries, taking an ancient people right where they were and gradually beginning to reveal more and more truth as they were able to receive it and as he gradually gave them more and more grace to be able to receive it, all the while respecting their freedom. “But when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son…” (Galatians 4:4) to communicate the fullness of the revelation God willed for his people. For example, the divorce God permitted in Deut. 24:1-4, he later says “[he] hates” in Malachi 2:16. And when Jesus elevated marriage to the level of sacrament eliminating divorce and remarriage absolutely in Matt. 19:5-6, he explained that this allowance by God through Moses was never intended from the very beginning citing Genesis 2:24, “the two shall become one flesh.” God permitted things early that he would not have ever willed in an antecedent sense as he helped his people to grow much like a parent does not treat a four year-old the same as he would treat a fourteen year-old.In a similar way, though God revealed the essential equality of man and woman very early in salvation history (Gen. 1:26-27), this revelation was given by God to an ancient people who did not have the same understanding of the essential equality of man and woman we so often take for granted given the fullness of revelation we have enjoyed in the New Covenant for 2,000 years. God did not expect his people to change immediately, nor did he give them the fullness of the revelation that we have in Christ all at once; rather, he helped them along as we’ve said. In fact, we can see this development of understanding even in the Old Testament itself. We cited the earlier version of the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20, but notice the change by the time God gave his people Deuteronomy:Neither shall you covet your neighbor’s wife; and you shall not desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox. Or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.The inspired author of Deuteronomy now makes the distinction between wife and property sharper by using two different Hebrew words for “covet” and “desire” and by only using the word “covet” with regard to the wife. The two separate commandments now become undeniable.

mike teixeira. I’m not sure what you are saying. Of course Christ’s Church was established with Him as the chief cornerstone. My question is what happened before Constantine gave all the power to Christianity and began feeding into the corruption of a few bad apples. He also had to appease the pagans which was the prevailing religion. Hence the statues, the rituals the sun god images, the mother/son pagan images whose names were changed to Mary and a powerless baby boy Jesus. It’s a fascinating history as is the overt corruption of many popes. Just the fact so many popes were downright evil contradicts the crazy notion any of them were “Vicars of Christ”. Even Peter after being told he got it right in his belief statement in Mark 16, was called “satan” by Jesus Himself soon after. The papal corruption automatically throws a wrench in the idea of papal succession or even thinking any godliness existed therein. Catholic history glosses over all these issues filling in the names of people who could have been popes but weren’t. And to minimize the murders and inquisitions and setting people on fire for translating God’s Word so that all of us could have access? Pure evil, and their gospel does not line up with the gospel Paul, the apostles, and Christ actually gave us. Eph 1:6-9

It is so stunning to me how many people are missing this and/or accuse you of being into lawlessness just because you are thankful that we are saved by faith alone. We need the whole message. 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

13 For whosoever shall CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have NOT BELIEVED? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have NOT HEARD? and how shall they hear without a PREACHER?
15 And how shall they preach, except THEY BE SENT? as it is written, How BEAUTIFUL are THE FEET OF THEM THAT PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, and bring glad tidings of good things
ACTS 11 (Peter preaches the gospe to GENTILES)
15 And as I began to SPEAK, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
16 THEN REMEMBERED I THE WORD OF THE LORD, how that he said, JOHN INDEED BAPTIZED WITH WATER; BUT YE SHALL BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST.
17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like GIFT as he did unto us, who BELIEVED on the LORD JESUS CHRIST; what was I, that I could withstand God?
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and GLORIFIED GOD, SAYING, Then hath God also to the GENTILES GRANTED REPENTANCE UNTO LIFE.
      BELIEVING THE GOSPEL IS SALVATION,

i grew up around the catholic church and regularly attended mass and went through all the requirements. the truth is, i don’t think i ever picked up a bible until i left catholicism. i was just taught in high school theology classes about the bishops and Church leadership claiming they are “infallible.” as we can see historically, it is not within human capability to be infallible. there is evil in the world, and whenever you put someone like the pope, in such a high position of power and leadership, you end up with the possibility of fallacy. i go to a catholic high school. i learned all about the saints and the virgin mary, and it never made sense to me why we pray to these people. i didn’t discover truth by going to confession. i didn’t discover truth by learning about apparitions of mary. i am not criticizing any catholics whatsoever, but i firmly believe that only through a real relationship with Christ can we be saved. i began attending a local community church. it was when i started attending that church and when i bought a bible where I truly found Christ and was saved. in order to save the world from all of the evil and hatred, we must rally around the only thing that will not change, and that is God’s word. a great example of the Church’s leadership trying to judge people is through the canonization process. they go through this long process analyzing their life, and then if they pass the test, which is kind of rare, they’re a saint. The only thing that matters is judgement before God. we pray to these saints, but only because a committee of leadership approved it. if we apply the same thing to other people who were perfect and did everything the saints did, except they weren’t canonized, what’s the difference? the natural tendency of the human heart is to sin. let’s stick to God’s word which is truly infallible, and not a “magisterium” that has historically taken advantage of people, persecuted their own people, and deceived people by the whole selling indulgences for purgatory thing. these men are holding themselves to such a high standard. they’re unable to get married for a completely outdated reason that isn’t at all relevant anymore. Christ is the only person who spoke the truth, was the truth, and will forever be the truth. catholic tradition and going through the motions do not truly save you.

I have just finished 24 out of 27 books of the new Testament, no where do I see Roman Catholic non sense if anyone saying rosaries, praying to saints, confessing in wooden boxes or implying there is a pope and Peter certainly did not give off that impression
I was raised a Catholic and gave that up years ago as I was already convinced it was false just in a few Bible verses I studied
Now here I am almost finished reading the entire new testament and am 100% convinced that Roman catholcism is non sense
Over and over and over again repeatedly do I not find implications of a pope, over and over do I not see anyone praying a rosary or praying to saints or confessing to a man in a wooden box
Over and over I continue to read that we are saved by faith and that good works are the result of being a saved Christan
Over and over I see that only people who can choose to believe are baptised and receive the holy spirit and not babies
Over and over again these things are repeated
The only books I have not read this far is Romans, Hebrews and revelations and I am starting Romans tomorrow
I've read every other book in the new Testament word for word and chapter for chapter
No Roman Catholic is going to give me their non sense that it is biblical to go into a wooden box and confess sins, or that you can baptize babies or should pray rosaries
I was already convinced Roman catholcism was wrong when I knew little
Now that I am almost finished with the entire new testament I am SHOCKED about how Roman Catholics have tricked so many people into believing in their non sense
But it's not really a shocker
    Nobody reads their Bible's anymore
Anyone with common sense who reads the new testament isn't going to walk away reading the letters of Paul and Peter saying that it is super clear there is a pope and babies should be baptized and other non sense
I am very glad I took the time to read the new testament for myself
It's freaking redicolus how little scriptures there are to even vaguely support Roman Catholic teaching
Because there are non vague very CLEAR evidence that they are wrong being that I read most of the new Testament and over and over is none of this stuff shown
You would think if Peter was the pope the text would at least imply it or others would imply it
You would think if babies got baptized you would see it
You would think that if praying to saints was a thing then you would see Paul or Peter doing it
    But nope
None of this non sense I have not seen so far
Now maybe these last three books will say other wise but I doubt it
God bless and I hope you guys read the text as well, it will serve you will to look at what the apostles themselves wrote and believed
Don't just lay attention to what they did do, pay attention to what they didn't do
I even read it pretending as if they are Catholics and it doesn't even fit or make sense because none of them do anything that is Catholic
    Catholicsm is such a joke
I wish I had this knowledge years ago
I'm glad the Lord took me out of that man made tradition years ago

@@abrahamjoseph8036 nice try, try again, anyone can read the new testament for themselves, you aren't going to sit here and excuse the Roman Catholic non sense when I have read word for word all the letters of Paul, Peter, the other letters written to the churches and no where in any of the letters is a pope implied or stated, no where do you see babies being baptized, no where do you see Paul implying or Peter telling churches to confess in wooden booths
Nice try but try again because anyone can go read the new testament for themselves and see what Peter and Paul DID say and DIDN'T say
And the Bible says that scripture is GOOD to use for correction, rebuke and use
Your argument is Roman Catholic garbage
I guess there is no way for you to argue against a Mormon or Muslim since they will simply say their tradition is how they know their God is real
So now both of you have a circular argument
Mormons and Muslims will say their tradition is true because their tradition tells them so
Good luck ever talking with a Mormon or Muslim when you use the same poor arguments they use to defend their non sense as well
Oh it's true because our tradition tells us so and we assume our tradition true to begin with therefor that's how we know it's true
Okay, in the Bible it says Gods people perish for a lack of knowledge
I am 100% sure anyone who reads the new Testament for themselves with no bias will see the Roman Catholic non sense is not in there
At best you have vague verses
I don't base my life on vagueness, I base it on clear cut evidence which most of the Bible is clear about
You, the Mormons and the Muslims should all get in a room together and argue who's tradition is true since you all assume your tradition is true to begin with before proving it true
You all go in a circle and get no where with each other because non of you make sense and you are all gullable which makes you all believe in any false teaching since there is no way out of your loop
      Gods word NEVER returns void
For those of you who want to know who's telling the truth
Don't take my word for it, I am not telling you to trust me because I say so like a Roman Catholic does who just says believe us because we are right and we are right because we are right
I'm saying go read all of Pauls letters
Hey at the very least you guys go read the two letters of Peter in the new Testament
They are very short and you can read both of Peter's letters in like 15 minutes
Remember Roman Catholics say the Peter you going to read in those 2 letters is the pope
Go read his letters and tell me if Peter seems like a pope or above all the other elders
Peter himself calls him a elder amoung elders, he never says he is above the elders as a higher elder
Roman Catholic non sense is pure garbage and can't save anyone
Go read the letters of Paul or Peter
That's why I love facts, Roman Catholic may twist vague verses
But one thing you Roman Catholic can't do is change the letters of Peter or Paul
Anyone can read them and make their own decision
And I used to be Roman Catholic, after I read the new testament letters from Paul and Peter and James I realized Roman Catholics are a bunch of liars who make up things they never implied or said
I have a basis to show someone why what I am saying is true
Roman Catholics are no different than Mormons or Muslims
You can't show them they are wrong because they rely on tradition that they say is true no matter what
Look, you Roman Catholics use the same arguments a Mormon or Muslim does
Our tradition is true therefore what we say is true
Nice circular argument that assumes it true to believe it's true

I'm an evangelical catholic (Lutheran). We are anathema to Rome. Modern Rome really begins with the Council of Trent. The Curia has evolved its theology on ecclesiology over the centuries, but Trent was the line in the sand. I encourage folks to read the Book of Concord to understand more fully what is going on in the 16th century. Concordia Publishing House offers a Readers Edition that also provides historical context along with a Biblical framework against the Primacy claims of the Pope. Most Christians do not read or research primary or source documents. Read Trent also to go to the source of their claims.

In the New Testament Jesus says to obey the Pharisees teachings because they sit on the seat of Moses but to not act the way they do, because they don’t practice what they preach. But did you catch it? Obey the Pharisees because they sit on the seat of Moses. This is a reference to a Jewish Tradition in the Talmud, which was originally oral. He was offering the Pharisees had a God-given authority, and that the Jews had to obey their teaching. This tradition was about the “seat of Moses”, which was essentially a Jewish succession of authority, which went from Moses, Justus, etc, a sort of succession of Authority that made its way to the Pharisees. They were corrupt, but the Jews at that time had to still listen to their teaching according to Jesus. This succession tradition was not mentioned in the OT. So essentially, the Jews had a tradition that Moses had successors with spiritual authority, even though this wasn’t written in the Bible, that Jesus seems to be affirming here. This is very similar to the Catholic Tradition of Apostolic Succesion, or the Bishops and Pope having the Authority of the Apostles passed down. Just something to think about.

      1. Well, the Commandment goes on to say you shall not “bow down or WORSHIP them”. The whole Commandment is in the context of worshipping idols, not actually creating religious images. God even Commands gold cherubs to be built later on, so that simply can’t be it.
      2. As for Mary, I wouldn’t consider that to be idolatry, or putting Someone/Something next to or above God, or thinking a statue is alive or something. “To pray” means “to ask”, it is more of a Protestant tradition that all prayer is worship, but there are different forms of prayer, like Adoration (worship), thanksgiving, supplication, etc. We invoke the Saints in our prayers, to ask for them to pray for us, that isn’t worship, that fits under supplication. And I could go over the Biblical support for the Marian Dogmas but that would take a long while. Sinlessness does not denote divinity, though. Actually, the Catholic Church doesn’t really tell us if Mary Died, but the weight of Tradition says She did. She just had the Resurrection of the Dead I guess early, it’s called the Assumption because She was Assumed Body and Soul into Heaven, likely after Mary Died, lovingly, by God. But Jesus Ascended into heaven, by His own Power, as God. Now, I don’t believe the Bible is the only part of the Word of God, you won’t find that in the Bible actually, but I also do think that the Assumption is implied by the Bible. And actually, the Catholic Church teaches Mary was saved by the Merits of Christ, actually. She was just saved by God protecting Her from ever sinning, which was a special grace given to Her through Christ’s Merits as the New Eve and such, unlike how we are saved differently through Christ, by being saved from sins we already committed and stuff.
