I'M 59 NOW AND IF YOU ANYWHERE CLOSE TO MY AGE,I KNOW YOU COULDN'T KEEP STILL 2.AND FOR YOU NUTS OUT THERE WHO THINK TYPING IN BIG LETTERS MEANS I'M YELLING ALL THAT,COOL WITH ME.BUT JUST SO YOU NUTS KNOW,I ALWAYS TYPE IN BIG LETTERS.IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE FROM ME TO YOU AND NOT YELLING AND HOLLERING,BIG OR LITTLE LETTERS.
Yup, this along with Kool and the Gang's "Celebration" was a wedding reception staple.! Those songs are the only way to get those middle age, corporate white guys to get out there and do the White Man's Overbite!
THESE GUYS ROCK....REUNITED FOR THE 1ST TIME IN ALMOST 35 YEARS, LIMITED REHEARSAL TIME, THEY PULLED IT OFF...AND, THEY HAD A BLAST...AS FOR ME, I WAS AN INVITED GUEST, AND HUNG OUT BACKSTAGE WITH THESE AMAZING MUSICIANS....
Dale Val I used to have this song as my ring tone, (pre iPhone days). I was in a big meeting one day, and I had forgotten to silence my phone. This of course started playing. I was so embarrassed but everyone was like, no! Don’t answer it, let it play!
Around 1979 a neighbor I worked for who ( and I went to school with his daughter), was a millionaire, and hired a band to play at his home in Vicksburg Michigan for his business associates company gathering. We lived on a dirt road and 'Ron' lived on the inside corner. It was a home built into a hill w/solar pool and the works. I was riding my bike by and heard them playing this song! I was so disappointed that I wasn't invited for all the hard work I did for him. I knew this song before I heard it playing in front of his double 4 car garage and it will live on with me for ever!!! My #1 go to song!!!!!!!!!! To this day I always wondered if it was Wild Cherry! It wouldn't surprise me cause Ron could afford anything he wanted. Good times!!!
No substitute for the original! Thank you Rob for 43 years of one of the greatest hits in Rock & Roll history! I don't know of anyone that hasn't heard this at least once, and that includes even kids today. I'm old enough to remember when this came out in '76, as I was already out of high school for a couple years. So sorry to hear about Ron Beitle.. what an amazing drummer! RIP Ronnie! 🙂
I love Wild Cherry..from way back..I have your cassetts..My family knows how much I love you. I work hard each day...as a janitor...I love my job...Play that funky music is my favorite song..loved this video..Laura from NH
I remember this song play that funky music white boy man that song was off the chain ⛓️ I am 61 years old and I still love 💞 that song I am new to your channel
That really kicked ass! Sounded Great! I remember hearing this tune as a kid in my mom's station Buick Estate Station wagon. Groing up I always thought it was KC and the Sunshine band... Why..I don't know? Great song, Great performance, So Many Years Later!
IMO, the greatest Disco song of all. It had it all. A funky beat, played by a great band, a great story line of how he learned his lesson that day and a writer and lead singer who definitely believed in this song. Horns telling and bass thumping, there is no other song from the disco era that can touch it. It reminded me of a gospel song in the way it told the story and that played in to the disco, which had a gospel feel.
My all time favorite song! Born in ‘62 I got to experience all the great artist of this time. One of my all time favorites! Wow! One of my fav songs. Great to see and hear them again. Thanks for posting!🇨🇦🥰🇨🇦🥰🇨🇦🥰
Such a multigenerational impact! This is probably the number one “bridge” to Funk that everyone will eventually hear and appreciate when they cross genres. I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers but I’m not sure I could have without first hearing Wild Cherry.
I just love since I 15,,,how did you even think this up?,,,you guys from stuebenville...I was in Ashtabula farm when this song destroyed me at 15...and you way older me,,but here,,in later ,,you sound ferocious....oh you freak,,you are GREAT...oooohhh you fun genius MAN,,,no I said FUCKIN GENIUS MAN,,,,

2014, You still sounded great, 38 years after the song came out! Awesome song, so glad it came out of your mind and you got it produced, even though it had "white boy" in it, haha ! It's a song that'll never go away, one for the record books! I first heard it back in 1977, in college in my boyfriend's dorm room in Indiana, he had the album, still remember the first time I heard it.

Cool song 😎
In 2022, it's still funky! Real horns, no auto-tune, no in ear head sets...Pure talent.
Yup, this along with Kool and the Gang's "Celebration" was a wedding reception staple.! Those songs are the only way to get those middle age, corporate white guys to get out there and do the White Man's Overbite!
