- How many Audi TT mk1 cars were made in Papaya?
Well that is a question I get asked a lot for many of the "special order" colours such as White, Imola Yellow, Berry, Merlin Purple and others.
As the colours were factory order, they came with a premium in addition to the car cost and therefore were not produced in large quantities compared to the regular colours offered by the dealership.
These cars are evidently low in numbers doe to the scarcety at shows and how frequenty we see them on the road.
As I have just purchased a Papaya 3.2 V6, I was keen to know just how rare the car was and how many were produced for the UK market.
These figures are not readily available online so I decided to reach out to Audi Customer Service UK and Audi Customer Service Germany to obtain these numbers.
It took a few goes for them to get the information right after I pointed out some dispcrepancies in their numbers that they sent through.
You do need to provide you own VIN to prove you own one of the cars you are looking for information on.
So now I have the numbers and want to share them with you in this video.
If you too follow my method of obtaining the figures for your rare car colour, please do share the numbers in the comments or drop me a message at the channel as I would be interested to know and perhaps find the rarest colour of them all.
Thanks for watching
Andy
Got a Papaya A2 colour storm. One of 5 for the UK from the numbers I’ve seen. Will be on the hunt for a TT to sit next to it next year.
Great video mate, so many great colours to choose from, I’d say my favourite factory colour is tourmaline green / turquoise 😍
Super research. Still curious about how many 3.2 specified to Coupé and Roadster there are in the UK. In total we known that 10.370 are Coupé and
4.120 are Roadster. But how many are RHD or LHD?
Great video on numbers. Not sure how you could obtain numbers on actual cars still in existence other than asking on the forums. I know one chap was making a list of all the QS numbers in order to try get physical numbers of them.
Great video Andy. I would like to find out how many Merlin purple cars were delivered to the UK 🤔
Surely the colour condition and the exhaust note of this car makes it a certain future collectable classic
You keep setting the bar higher for yourself. Thank you.
Great to see it on the road finally, nice video Andy 👌
Definitely a stunner Andy
Would love to see how many Kingfisher Blue Mk1’s there were!
@@NemesisNG if you own one, drop Audi an email with your vin buddy 👍
I've only ever seen 3 different Papaya 3.2 TTs, 2 of them were roadsters, one was of course Bryns, and your coupe, a very, very rare colour. I shouldn't think there are that many left.
There are 3 living with one owner up north (in the video thumbnail) and I have seen 2 more in storage at a breakers. All coupes. Plus mine. So there's 6 left at least!
Excellent video, thanks Andy! I have what I suspect is a 1 of 1 Canvas Beige Mk1 TT Roadster. I'll follow your advice and reach out to Audi to confirm!
That sounds amazing! Can you send me a photo of that?
@@andycharger cheers Andy, I've sent you an email.
