When playing with 2 players: does the 2nd player immediately lose the race and receive a last place card as soon as the first player finishes their race?
Hello, when you use this Chronicle in a 2 players game you have to put those 2 long rivers tiles between players double start tile. But does it mean that player on the right cannot attach any other river tile on his start tile left side and viceversa player on the left cannot attach any tile at his start tile right side? This is not so clear on rulebook. Thanks.
You can attach to the rivers left and right - they are not placed directly next to your start tile. The long river tiles are placed between the players. Imagine a table with 4 seats and place the long river tiles before the seats between the players.
@@madcaplaughs75 Hi. The rules for Chronicle 1 are terrible and this video doesn't help much. Just place the 2 long river tiles somewhere on the table. We place them vertically between both players. They are supposed to represent a circular river you race around, but essentially you're racing in opposite directions.
I would assume you can add rivers to either side, and use this to your advantage or disadvantage. Example, once your boat has moved to another players area, placing tiles to the right slows other players down since they have more tiles to go through. Putting river tiles on the left will always slow all players down unless of course they have passed. It is a great mechanism that makes river placement more thinky. Also, since the cards for winning are tricky, here is the go. In a 2 player game, when the player who wins the race, both players get a card - winner gets 1st, second gets last. When the second player finishes the race, they get the second place reward. Same mechanism for 3 player games, the difference is the last place card is handed out at second place, but the third place reward is still achieveable.
Great video. I particularly liked the 60 second rules explanation
Thank you James!

Hi Ivan, thanks for letting us know. That was my mistake. Best, Steffen

Yes, this is right. With two players, the race ends as soon as the first player reaches the finish line.
Does the first player to reach the finish line get the 15 VPs and Whisky casket immediately or just the card until final scoring?
The first player received the 15 VP and whisky cask immediately.

@@steffenruehl2201 yeah, so for example, if right player attach a tile on his start tile (left side) before race starts you'll have a longer race?
No answer? Can anybody tell me what happen when a player attach e river tile before and after race started?
