@@2Oenjust because they went their own direction with music that doesn’t agree with your preferred tastes for them doesn’t mean they’re any less great.
I've been a fan since the 80's! My first exposure was this group of kids in my Jr. High that played Jump in the Fire during the last day of school before summer break talent show. For whatever reason, they only announced the name of the song, not the band. Finally, I heard the song play on our local rock station that was run by high schoolers at the tech school. I went right out and bought Kill em All, on cassette of course, because I'm ancient. Since then, I have been hooked! I think it's so awesome that Metallica has this competition going on! Marching bands are bad ass, and it's really awesome to see their music used in this way! It gives the kids a fun project to do, with nice prizes for the school if they win.
We're probably the same age. I was in High School when I heard Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning. This was a different sound. I was also listening to Van Halen, Ratt, Scorpions and yet METALLICA always rose above them. I couldn't get enough and then after High School a year later, Justice for All. So much speed and bass. It always impresses me. I listen to it ALL - I respect the catalog except for the country aspects in Load, but this is an epic band. Better than the Beatles or Rolling Stones.
@@diavolaangelica Yeah, I was born in 1969. Maybe you're a year younger, or older, but you're around my age. The age of discovery. I bought sony walkmans and listened to my favorite tunes between classes.
This is a testament to Metallica's continued musical brilliance throughout the decades. I'm still in awe of their collective staying power. HOW can a band rock so hard for so long?
This is how the love of music and creative minds is birthed. Through mutual love and respect of creating something beautiful. Ty guys for bringing this to the next generation through giving back. And through stranger things. Long live eddie ❤
Thank you Metallica for making this happen. Having experience with a daughter in Band and Marching Band from 5th grade through UW.. I can say that BAND MATTERS. Congratulations 👍
I'm currently a senior in high school who has played in the marching band for 4 years now who plays clarinet. I remember that our band played master of puppets one year which is cool.
I think the 4 of them should surprise the sh!t out of the kids by showing up unannounced to rip and grind with them! HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?!?!?!?! Talk about bragging rights for the rest of your life!
What's even more impressive is Boerne Texas is one of the most Conservative Religious places in the USA. It's so Conservative, they fought the state education board to change the name from Boerne Middle School to Boerne Intermediate School at the total waste of state tax payer dollars.
I just want to go to a Metallica concert, but I don't know if they'll come to Colombia. There's no money. My family thinks they're satanic and the only one who likes them as much as I do, which is my dad, won't let me go to a concert because I'm a minor, shit. 😫🖕🏻
But really? Are those parades the only fun thing there to do? I tried to Open Google maps. Are you surrounded with woods or agricultural fields? Who has neverending budget for Bubble Tea? Is there not any cheap place for students? I found none here at few thousand miles away. Not states. Just a state. Everything fun, but the economy controls every water and food supply and all the benches and shelters from rain. And toilet? SAD case. Well, if you have enough cash or enough battery left on your phone. 💸
