Thank you for posting real racing videos. You don't turn the camera and stick your face in it for an opinion or jokes. Just real racing and that's what we're all here for.
what class are the drag cars with the wings hanging off then you can call me stupid if you want but to me they look like very old school top fuel cars idk if i have seen anything like this before
Another great video guys, keep up the great work! What always gets me is, the camera men(man on the ladder)... closest one to the wreck, could very easily have aimed the camera in the direction of the crash and jumped down/ran to the drivers aid(maybe with a fire ext' knowing there was fire)...but instead he just stands there face buried in the view finder all about getting that great shot... i see it all too often.. i understand at bigger tracks where there is a safety truck right there (i see the one way off to the right, but that's still a ways away)..but you could clearly see no-one was near the end of this track on that side...
sly5.0gt you serious? You know why you don't do that... alcohol fires..that's why you can't see it...he would have been burnt too. This is all on the track they should have have people down there closer...
being first on scene as an untrained person can be a bad thing, not wearing a fire suit you yourself can also become a victim. I do not go on to the track if there has been a crash until it is safe, i'll help push a broken car but not going near a burning wreck.
Goodyear and Firestone beat Micky Thompsons and Hoosiers every time M/T and Hoosier are too hard of a compound they don't stick good enough that's partly why that rail job crashed
Thats what sets you apart from a real racer.... I've done close to that in a twin turbo mustang that stood up on the starting line... came home, stripped my daily driver and put what i could salvage from my dragster on it and started the build of a new car the very next day.. was back out racing 2 weeks later.
sly5.0gt if u say so but may god be with you man that guy could have died 1st car burst in flames rolls god know how many times think about that but after a crash like that am done love racing but I'll rather call it quits
thats what all the safety equipment is for.. im a firm believer in building a car far too safe. the car im building right now is a foxbody mustang, chassis is certified to go 7.50et in the 1/4 mile.. cars only running 11's at the moment and more than likely will end up mid-low 8's when its gotten to its final stage. i also believe in wearing far safer gear than needed. if it calls for level 8 gear..i buy level 12, full padded fire protection, hand and neck restraints with fire proof socks/gloves and head sock.. you never know how bad a wreck can get, my car was an 8 second car(one i wrecked) but was turned down to make mid 10 second passes... kind of a fluke incident where i had a suspension link break and it sent the car into the air... imagine if that had happened at full tilt (making an additional 560whp roughly than it was turned down to at the time of the wreck). it's all about the love of the sport and making sure no matter how bad a wreck can get..you know you did your best to make sure your safe.
sly5.0gt Guys like us are born with oil & gas in our blood! I started in the 90s when Jr dragsters came about and been a racer for life after the 1st pass. My family raced a Promod 69' Nova for about 5yrs, we wadded the car up pretty good a few times including loosing the chutes at better than 200mph on a 6.75 pass. You get out, brush it off and figure out how to get it back together for the next big race. Thats what racers do, what any racers do. Even the guys that get hurt, most are right back in the breech again!

Everyone there ran Hoosier, no problems. Control arm tube pin had no factor in that crash, it was the tires?
Ammco is evil
after something like that I would quit racing cold turkey
