Go back in time when Drag Racing was flashy and fun for everyone. An event like this promotes period correct vehicle to Drag Race against each other heads up down the Quarter Mile Drag Strip to see who has the fastest car.

Thanks Tom! That Panty Dropper altered just needs to have the shifter sticking up through the sunroof (with the drivers hand on it) to complete the ‘60’s Big Daddy Roth Rat Fink look.
Oh yeah that would be awesome. Did you see the drivers line of sight when sitting in that car. Between the blower and the roofline there might be a 1 inch gap he can look out. Crazy looking Model A Ford.

I am thrilled to see Byron still open, I ran a big block camaro there in the 70s. Great times and memories from a simpler time. Makes this 68 years old hot rodder happy to see it. The guy in the Impala with the pipe reminded me of my uncle. Oh the memories!!!

im not sure if they all do it but that guy in the steel in time 55 had his 5 way harness laying over his body like a dish rag maybe he doesnt know how violent those cars get once they start to roll over he would be ejected instantly so i think its the officials job to enforce rules and racers code

This is 1000 feet right? I wish they never changed it.I always raced a quarter mile Quarter mile is the real deal. The reason they change it because the government stepped in and said they were going too fast. And now they're going faster at 1000 feet, then they were at quarter mile.
Only Top Fuel NHRA tracks changed to 1000 feet because of the speeds over 300 mph. Not all the other cool tracks.

My battery car will beat most to 1000’ or 1/4 mile. I do 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds @ around 150. What’s wrong with that? I agree that the government trying to force you to buy one is wrong. But if you step back and look at the Tesla S or Plaid objectively, its capabilities are amazing and it’s a bone stock daily driver. The old days are gone and I’m sad about that. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t positives out there. Some people still think carburetors are better than fuel injection. To each their own
