    This is insanely satisfying to watch. I see and crochet and thought I was crafty but never really understood how to effectively use the little piece of thread included with sweaters for repairs

    Fabulous repair. I’m in awe of your technique.
    It makes perfect sense. Many more watches and then my practicing.
    Thank you.

    My grandmother would do these types of repairs to save clothing. She was born in the 1920's and was taught the ultimate in reduce, reuse, recycle.

      @Anne is it a plain tiny hook or is there also a piece of metal next to the hook that opens and closes? It seems so to me, but i might be wrong

      @@mapleext Pretty sure that in this video it's a darning / tapestry needle! Most of the other ones use a latch hook though.

    Das nennt man Kunststopfen, und da kann man sehen warum es so teuer ist es machen zu lassen.
    Ich hab es noch in der Schule gelernt und meine Mama und meine Oma waren perfekt darin. Danke Little Star 😍

      You can use RUclips's slow playback feature.

    • @solyluna4545
      @solyluna4545 2 года назад +6

      You can change the speed. Click on 5he Little wheel in the top or Botton right corner of the screen, scroll down and choose 0.75 or 0.50. 😉

      I did slow down to half-speed, but it's still hard to see exactly which loops you're picking up.

    What is that tiny crochet hook with the flappy bit on it? I’m a crocheter who just recently got into darning and repairs, so it’s got me intrigued.

    • @meganmills6545

      It is a little latch hook - she tends to use the ones made as "needles" for knitting machines. They come in a variety of sizes and some are sold mounted in a handle while others are sold to use in the machine bed itself. I've seen similar things sold in sets for working with hair extensions/braids/dreadlocks etc. If you get them and they are not mounted in a handle do what she does and wrap the "stem" in something to make it easier to handle.

  • @roslyngraf1737
    @roslyngraf1737 2 года назад +1

    Fantastic. Surprising is that you cut the loops off on the left. Do they not unravel & open again? Still super work.

    • @LittleStarCC
      @LittleStarCC  2 года назад +4

      The extra wool on the left is reserved, and it is needed to darn the hole. Usually, the reserved length of wool is three times the size of the hole. After the hole is mended, if the reserved wool is not used up, you need to hook the wool into the back of the sweater with a crochet, and then weave it into the sweater along the lines of the sweater. If the reserved yarn is too long, you can cut it off. I will also post a video to explain how to operate.

    • @SuzD0n
      @SuzD0n 2 года назад

      Ahhh! Now I understand what's going on. Were you using the sewing thread to stabilise the hole?

    • @LittleStarCC
      @LittleStarCC  2 года назад +2

      I take the thread at the seam of the sweater. Generally, the thread here is the same as that of the sweater. The part to be sutured shall be sutured with other suture.
