Not sure why we haven't recorded this tune before, it's a fantastic one! Certainly known on the English session scene. Does anyone else play this one like this?
Featuring Kevin Lees (fiddle) and Sebastian Bloch (guitar).

Great accompaniment! Perfect building and releasing tension throughout!
Jippi they're back :)
masterful guitar
I’m Irish and love love the stuff you do.Keep them coming🇮🇪👍
I love this tune, it feels so mysterious... I always play it very slowly with a low drone on A
One of my favourite hornpipes. I play it on the mandolin in a similar fashion to you, maybe a tad slower, strongly influenced by the John Spiers & Jon Boden recording.
I spiller altid sådan nogle lækre stykker jeg aldrig har hørt før! Keep it up boys!
yes - that's indeed lovely playindg and a lovely hornpipe. I have loved it for years. Keep them coming
Lovely hornpipe. Thanks for play it.
Gotta learn this one. It's infectious.
Det var da en dejlig Hornpipe. Og i to lyder altså bare rigtig godt sammen.
So beautiful ❤
Never heard it before. But I would think you guys nailed it good. thanks
This is really very similar to how we play it at our session. We go into 'An Bouchail Breoighte' (The Sickly Boy) after this. Any chance of doing The Drunken Sailor's Hornpipe and Johnny Cope? There aren't many hornpipes with five or six parts! Great playing!!!!!!
Mange tak for den dejlig Hornpipe ... Hilsener fra Tyskland
Sirs i would love to see drop some waltz too..

Besides loving the tune, I sometimes end up thinking about the names of hornpipes. They often seem to be named after traits or professions, and even if there's no definite answer, it's still interesting to try and play with how the qualities of traits or professions are somehow (supposed to be?) represtented in the musical qualities of the tune. That's just me thinking aloud, thank you as always so much for the tunes.
Suggesting an algorithm for tune names! Influencer’s Hornpipe; Coder’s Hornpipe; Healthcare Provider’s Hornpipe; Bipolar Hornpipe; Adhd Hornpipe. Alas, the professions and preoccupations of our modern age lack the romance of yesteryear’s.
@@slowerpickerI’m gonna fall asleep laughing at this.
@@slowerpicker I can't believe I forgot to tell you that I found those absolutely hillarious - sorry about the wait! I might be wanting to start working on Overburdened Graduate Student's Hornpipe one of these days. If I get the time that is.
I play this all the time on guitar and fiddle. It's so nice to hear you play it so beautifully with all the ghost notes. Dynamics sound great. Still can't figure out the guitar tuning and capo
Guitarwise with the capo it could be CGDGCD playing modal shenanigans from what would then be the low A as root.
@@christofferkiilerichjakobs8336 Love the way you flip between aelean and dorian. Funny I use the D chord in different places to you :)
Hi Jason! The tuning is DGDGDG. I play with my Elliot capo on the second fret :)
@@thegoodtunes Thank you! I've been very curious myself!
ripping off so many of your tunes its untrue. keep em coming so I don't have to dig so deep!
