Selective breeding isn’t considered genetic modification. You’re only playing with traits that already exist in a population, using natural reproductive processes, rather than directly manipulating specific genes or even introducing foreign ones. That’s not to say that there’s anything inherently wrong with GMO crops. But traditional breeding methods aren’t it.
