about the spraying,my advice inform farmer you have bees ,and ask them to inform you when they intend to spray then shut bees away ,find that better than losing colonies, but if affect is minimal ,might have to live with it ,most farmers are very helpfull

I would like to add, on the point where you say "dont add space too early" if you are adding undrawn foundation you need to add it early, most new beek's dont have drawn comb and a flow onto a full broodbox with undrawn comb is a recipe to swarm.

That yellow flower field looks like a canola field.

I have 2 hives in the farm ground at the other end of the county. They're about 20 feet from a field that had the yellow flowers in it. While I was working my hives the farmer sprayed the field my hives and me. The bees seemed ok but I have noticed that their progress slowed down for about 3 weeks

Hopefully you know that farmer and the bees survive . I am very interested in what they use on crops.

Do you have a video or can you recommend a video that shows how to promote queen cells for making splits or requeening.

Suggestion: upon removing the bee hive cover place upside down directly in front of it's respective colony. This will give you a solid platform to place the removed frames during inspections.

I had the queen banned for two weeks (thermal treatment for mites), the bees filled the broodchamber with nectar. How can I help my bees to move the nectar to the supers? The queen is laying, but there is hardly enough room for her to lay eggs...

Really interested in hearing about the catalyst for Winter bee formation. Can you share the publication you found this in? This is such a game changer..

Horizontal hives have the advantage of giving the bees as much space as needed without giving them too much at once. You can give them one empty frame at a time because you have a movable follower board. You can give them 1,2,3,4,5 or any amount of frames without extra space for them to maintain.
