- Tennessee and Washington played in the winners bracket in the 2023 Little League World Series. The winner would be only 1 win away from the United States Championship Game.

The best part of my work as a RUclipsr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other RUclipsrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

This is what my dad used to warn me about when I was a coach. Over-coaching can cost you games. Young lady was throwing very well and you have to trust your defense.
First basemen should have made some plays for her but let it get away. She let one get away too. Props to her though, I thought she threw well till that point and had a good fastball. Hard as a kid in that position and under pressure not to let it get to you, especially when it is a much bigger crowd than you are used to.
Kudos to her she did good.
@@Efilnikufesin76She doesn't belong there. If boys/men can't play in girls'/women's sports, girls shouldn't be allowed to play in boys' sports. It's not equality otherwise. She was very unimpressive to boot.

@@johndickson9542 I expected no response from you. Obviously she played well enough in past games for her to start this game, and the first baseman should have made two plays that he botched. Not on her.
She played well. If she decides to play "with boys" and is still successful at the same age. I don't see the problem.
She is on a team in the LLWS, and was a starting pitcher in it. She obviously contributed to them getting there, regardless of your preconceptions.

Couldn’t agree more, this teams the best LL team we’ve had from WA since the 1982 Kirkland team that won it all. They’re writing history!
Just curious, why do you use Tennessee's Little League logo instead of the Southeast Region logo?
Also, where did you find the logos? They're really high quality.

Not sure they should have pulled the girl off the mound. She was very consistent at hitting her spots. First time she gets in trouble and instantly gets pulled. I think I would have let her finish the inning at least.

Definetly agree, have to wonder if they were trying to save her for tomorrow. Even then, still hard to understand why she was pulled so early.

Seattle was dialed in on her plus bases loaded with hit batsman. Bad position to come in for next guy with bases loaded.
For a team w that much experience TN looked like they’d never seen a baseball field before. Mental mistakes x 500 to go along w physical mistakes. The Carter kid is silky smooth at SS
Carter was super smooth last year too.

Kid's nerves kick in when things start to go wrong in front of a crowd like that. It's a whole new situation to a team that won probably every game till that point.
@@DelbertStinkfester I mean even with the mistakes just with the eye test they look like the better team. But that is why baseball can be great at this age. Any team with some strong talent can show up. But TN for sure the better team. If they meet again I still put my money on TN
Weaver has to have the highest exit velocity at the plate. Would’ve been nice if the coach left her in to try and get out of trouble in the second.

Nice job! My Adult League made some pretty significant contributions to this league. Fields were upgraded, etc. it’s fantastic to see them have such success! I feel a small part of it. A part of it, nonetheless.

Washington got some good defense can’t lie accept for the part where the 2nd basemen threw it over the 1st basemen’s head but other than that they got a good center fielder, a really good shortstop, and also that 3rd basemen is clutch

Not scoring with runners at 2nd and 3rd in the 1st 2 innings really hurt TN. 3rd baseman for W was huge to take away those runs.
Lastly, Nash Carter is soooo silky smooth. Love watching him play the game.

I got Washington cruising through this tournament. They are just better at every aspect of the game than the other teams. It will take a really good international team to beat them.

Guess you haven’t watched the international side with China Japan and Curaçao those are the best teams in the tournament I don’t think Washington will come out on the US side I think even though they lost Tennessee is better and Nevada and California both look great too. Don’t get me wrong Washington is pretty good but if they play teams that make very few mistakes like the international teams I mentioned zero chance

Why did every team that played today, not throw their ace except Taiwan and texas? And those two won. Other teams got burned trying to save arms
winners bracket. if you win, great, if you lose, you have your ace ready for an elimination game i would assume is the thought process
Good question and deciding when to use your ace is tough in a tournament like this. Obviously the last thing you want is to not use him and get sent right to the losers bracket. Yet you also don’t want to use him too early in the tournament and not have him available in the championship
@@1takesidd995true but if you use him early then get to the championship against a very strong team and can’t use him then you are in trouble
@@brianmeen2158 good point. i believe if they throw 35 or less they can pitch the next day, so maybe “if we win we win, if not we get off to a good start in an elim game” ?? not saying i agree with it but that’s my best guess since a few teams did the same thing today.

They mercy literally every team in their regionals and mercy Maine in the llws so yeah they are a good team
TN missed the opportunity to score in the first 2 innings. That made a huge difference.

Coaches have failed, kids hopping to first on a hbp like they’ve Just knocked in a winning run. They’re not teaching them to celebrate when they win, it’s baseball, anything can happen , you don’t celebrate till the final out is called

Way too many mental mistakes by Tennessee, base running and fielding decisions.
And the coach was overreacting- just not used to trailing, maybe overlooked WA as well
They are too impatient. Bases loaded no outs and then don’t score. It took 10 pitches all inning for that to happen. I’d laugh at that.
They've only lost one game this summer...give them some respect
I have no Idea how Washington is good cuz the Northwest region is always either bad or mid… This year’s Washington team is a one in a million, they are really good and should be taken seriously now.

I have been watching the LLWS for more than 35+ years and since 2017, it has been very disappointing. Once the bats were changed, the Home Run bomb days were over. Do you notice now, if you see one Home Run a game, you're lucky. And, the Home Runs are not moon shots like years ago, they basically squeak over the fence, maybe 230FT 240Ft tops versus the 280FT bombs of yesteryear. In 2016, my son was eleven years old and was hitting bombs in Little League, when he turned 12, in 2017, he was much bigger and stronger, yet only hit one Home Run, due to the bat change. People (fans) want to see Home Runs, that is why there is a Home Run Derby.
