With apologies here, I posted this on Wowhead to sum up how I feel. Hope you don't mind my sharing it here @GyrotexGaming. I'll remove if necessary. "My objection is that a huge number of players have longed for Something Pirate-y for years. I'm taking a guess here, but I suspect that's because lots of people thought it might be something to do with boats, but it also had A LOT to do with obtaining cool Pirate-y transmog. So imagine their dismay when instead of a jolly Pirate PvE mini game or zone, they are offered up as noob 'gank-fodder' to the greasy PvP predators who REALLY enjoy griefing and trolling people when they say they don't like it. No we shouldn't expect to collect everything, and yes there should be specific rewards for being good at certain aspects of the game. I've no problem with mounts/t-mog specifically from raids, dungeons or pvp - none of which I take part in - but pirate-themed stuff has been high on people's wish lists for years, and sticking it behind a pvp battle-royale gate is, imho, sh***y. These people don't play the game less than raiders/pvpers, or pay less money or love the game less. They also 'work hard' for their game play, just as they raiders/pvpers do - they put in the hours just like them. I've never understood this attitude. Pvper's and raiders don't 'work hard' for their gaming, they are doing precisely what they enjoy and having fun doing it. That's not 'hard work'. We're all paying our subs. Blizzard's tiresome insistance that we *must* try bits of gameplay because they think we should/it's good for us/we might like is intensely annoying. Most players understand the gaming landscape well, most people know what mmos offer. You aren't going to tempt in The Kids just because you copy the thing they like playing elsewhere. Frankly, it looks really Lame Dad "We Have Fortnite At Home". I felt the same about the Valentine's Day rewards, "Look look Anime-loving Cool Kids! We can do Anime too!" It's puke-inducingly desperate. So, I don't care about missing out on the t-mog myself, and I'm not going to offer myself up as PvP lunch for the gankers, but I think laying out the t-mog gumdrop trail for players into a gamemode they know they hate, is wanky. They KNEW people would get FOMO and they KNEW people would troll them for it, but they created the disharmony anyway. Slow clap all round."
Yeah, I am not into PvP (or FortNite) so I knew this Plunderstorm limited-time event was not for me. I haven't even tried it. For those who are enjoying it, good for them. I can see how this sort of content would be fun for PvPers and esp. Griefers. The issue is that Plunderstorm provides a renown track with cosmetics that PVE collectors desire. So, they are forced to endure this content and become fodder for the griefers' entertainment. It's only a limited-time event. If these PVE collectors think that they can eventually wait out the griefers and have Plunderstorm all to themselves, they are seriously mistaken. Griefers NEVER get bored wilth ganking other players.
Yes mate you were smarter than me and now have $20 AUD more than I have in my pocket for resubbing for a month to this trash... Trying to check out Classic Season of Discovery while I'm subbed - might as well, right? 🤷♀️
"Wow is supposed to be WoW" Exactly this. So fed up with WoW not having the confidence to be itself. I know they've borrowed from other games many times in the past, but I'm tired of it now. I hated the anime Valentine's rewards - thought they were so out-of-place and jarring. And this is the same. Not interested in PvP and like ESO, no reward/gimmick is going to get me to play. I've unsubbed for a bit, but will be back (I'm looking forward to warbands, honestly) but whatever is happening in WoW atm, I'm not interested in playing for the time being.
Hey Gyro! I’m still lurking and just forget to comment. Appreciate the honesty as always and feel the same. I just land and someone is levels higher and I died, don’t like the rewards or the style so went back into my vaults. Somehow though the patch totally messed up my Ui of which is blizzard default no add ons 🤷♂️ also still don’t have the new expansion bought for the first time. Why pre order a digital game…not like the old days of loading discs into the drive
Hey mate, good to see you're still around. I haven't pre-ordered anything either. Of course I'll buy and play it. I just don't want to give them my money too early - simply out of principle and not to show on their dashboards as a proof of them doing the right things, because they are not.
I have played this game since 2006 and this monumental trash has far exceeded all my expectation of what the devs think is fun. I used to love pvp until they ruined that too, but I flatly refuse to engage in this clusterfluff of non-content. Even after all these years I am beyond disappointed in whoever oversees this game now. Rant over :)

It's a joke. Instead doing even small 5-6 bosses raid to closed of Dragonlight they wasted time on this crap ? Pity 😢😢
