@@daniboiyy I rarely comment on vids but will here. You've done MUCH better with this video than other who produce tech vids. You filled in gaps, those little bits of info that many people just skip over. You took the time to notice those little things and comment on them. You did this in both of your vids. Really, this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In terms of a monitor I would recommend a 3440x1440p 34" ultrawide monitor with an ips display. LG makes a some that are really good 34UM88C-P for a little over $600 is kind of expensive, but for your use case it is worth it imo. Logitech MX master is a really popular mouse for editing/general productivity. Just in terms of monitor the most important thing is that you get an IPS display as IPS panels have the best color accuracy which is a necessity for video editing and more specifically color grading.
Maybe she should also get some sort of white mechanical keyboard and put her own purple key-caps on to match the system.
I don't know... I've got the LG 34' curved 34UC97 monitor sitting in front of me, I've been using it for a small year now I think. For video editing it's good, I'm not saying its bad but I think she should explore other options. 1440p is not the best imo you're watching a big screen. It's not suuper crispy like something like the LG Ultrafine display. Color wise it's great but not as great as my macbook screen. Also the ultrawide aspect ratio just has me looking around a lot and sometimes losing track of where I put something haha

You don't need any of the gaming peripherals! For editing, I recommend:
- Logitech MX Master Mouse

Lol that's true, but i think the 2nd gen of logitech mx master is not bad
Cant go wrong.. .. EDIT FOR DAYS!
Logitech mx master
actually i tested the mx master, its junk. that side scroll should of been a regular rollar, it can't be efficently used for scrolling a video timeline.

Bassahaulic Productions g700s. Cheaper, feels better, wireless with good battery life and it’s a LOT faster.
Gonna look into it now. :)
You want suggestions? I give you suggestions. Mechanical keyboard... the must have thing that you never knew you needed. Once you try one, you'll never go back. My choice for home, Ducky Shine, for work, Ducky Zero, both with blue switches. My coworkers hate me. My favourite mouse is the Corsair M45. Super simple, super comfortable, minimal bells and whistles. Finally monitor, LG 34" IPS Curved as others have suggested. Also invest in a desk mount for your monitor, such as the Ergotron MX, something else that you never knew you needed... it'll free up a stack of desk space for you. Enjoy your new PC!
There she is in Austins Video! I really enjoyed watching this with you guys. Great job and good synergy between you two.
Good luck and have fun with the Windows PC Sara Dietschy !

For monitor, take a look at an ultrawide like the *LG 34UC98* . Ultrawides are amazing for productivity and working in Premiere's timeline, and the IPS panel will have good color reproduction for color grading.
For mouse, definitely the *Logitech MX Master* (as I've seen several people mention). The horizontal scroll wheel is perfect for scrolling horizontally through a timeline, the hybrid scroll wheel is something that should really be on every mouse (but isn't on many at all), and it has reprogrammable buttons which are great for editing macros.
Keyboard doesn't matter a ton. Personally, I love my *Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate* , but you might find something with macro keys better for editing in Premiere.
Bradum The Razer Deathadder mouse is more ergonomic and also spits out much better performance
Sanjay Shiju Yeah, but I think the Logitech MX Master is better since she probably uses her laptop and PC meaning the ability to switch between devices is pretty darn usefull.
Sanjay Shiju I'd rather have sideways scrolling (mx master) than more DPI (Deathadder) for editing. Also, ergonomics is more of a preference. The Deathadder will probably be too big for Sara.
Sanjay Shiju yea then they break 1 year later, my sisters logitech g403 has been going strong for like 3 years
I hope you know she ain't no CS:GO pro gamer that's gonna use any macros at all. The Corsair K70 with new cherry mx, would be more of a keyboard for her. The mouse could be a Corsair M65 Pro, way cheaper then the one you listed and way better. I don't think she really needs that monitor, plus it's way too expensive just for the sake of it. The Acer GN246HL will be her best shot, since the monitor is 144hz and still 1080p, It's also way cheaper.
Logitech mx master for the mouse, I have it, it's great
cant wait to build my first gaming rig. my first rig was pre built and runs great but after tinkering and making upgrades myself i now feel confident in building my own.
For the peripherals and monitor and stuff I'd recommend:
Monitor -
make sure it's an IPS display, and preferably you'd want it to be at least 120hz and 1440p or if you want to go overkill get a 4k display.
Keyboard -
Since you're probably going to be typing a LOT you should go for a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches, and go for a well-known brand like Logitech.
Mouse -
Honestly, since you aren't going to be gaming, this is just personal preference. Get a mouse you think looks cool, or one that is comfortable, or one that lights up, whatever you want.
Chair -
Since you're not gaming this might sound a little bit weird, but get a DX racer chair, they are so comfortable in general and with a few contacts you might even be able to get your own custom one with your logo/name/whatever else on it.
Headset -
Sennheiser all the way. Go for a headset in the Sennheiser HD series such as the Sennheiser HD599s.
MX Master mouse is amazing for editing and productivity.
How is it for gaming? I mainly edit but I'm building a dedicated gaming/productivity rig and I've held off on a mouse. Looking for something comfy and something to avoid ruining my wrists any more than they already are.
nateo200
Nooooo don't game with it. Its strictly wireless with no option to go wired and you run the risk of disconnections and lag. I had one for gaming and my laptop but its just not worth. If you want a wireless gaming mouse, I recommend a Logitech G900, G703 (the cheaper variant but still made for wireless gaming), or the newest G903 with wireless charging.
Thanks man. I'll probably end up trying a variety of mouses. Not too concerned about Keyboards yet, I used to PC game on shitty PS/2 keyboards for years but a weird mouse would always ruin the experience.
Ultrawide 34 inch monitor? Or maybe the 5k one from Dell? Kb you should definitely get mechanical like the g613 wireless mech keyboard, mouse I recommend the mx master 2s
ZX Tech. Yeah that 5K monitor is actually ($)8K
28" samsung monitor full native 4k amd freesync 1ms response time $350 new $220 used both are straight from the amazon warehouse no third party. www.amazon.com/dp/B00YD3DBOC?tag=saradiet0d-20

2700$? And not even gtx 1080ti
A 1060 would be fine for editing, but a 1080 is more than enough.
the difference between a 1080 and 1080ti would never be noticed on this PC if shes editing. Shes not gaming in 4k lol, not worth the extra $200
joseph hemler With 2700$ 200$ extra would be nothing.

yumri4 while pricey, they're a lot cheaper than the apple branded ones

Sara! I'm ready to see a "I've been on PC for a few weeks now" video. You've got me super curious... Apple to my bones over here!
Thanks for all the great content.
i know it's really old video but the reason that people so nervous while building their first pc eventhought that they watched some tutorials is because pc parts itself is expensive. they surely afraid of something wrong or something is not working properly because of their mistakes while building it. obviously we buy phone in already-made condition, we only have to use it, while building pc, there's a risk that the part isn't working or maybe broken while shipping. that's what i felt when i build my own first pc
Welcome to the PC master race.
Dell do a beautiful 27" monitor with good sRGB accuracy and no bezels.
If you want functionality and accuracy go for Logitech keyboard and mouse.
Also, once you got to grips with Windows check out the videos on how to make the UI clean and minimal it's really helped my workflow.
Corsair do great keyboards too
heyyyyy guyssssss.... 🤣
Think he wanted someone to say "this is Austin" just guessing bc it's his intro
this is Austin
Logitech MX master 2 (best editing mouse)
Corsair Gaming K70 RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Keyboard
LG 27UD58-B 27-Inch 4K UHD IPS Monitor
Grahamhg get cherry mx silent or brown
Austin looks so friendly, He can be my successful nerdy friend who stayed down to Earth after all the years.
For the monitor I would suggest an ultra wide for productivity, if you want smooth buttery movements pick up one that has a 144 or 100hz refresh rate
For the mouse get the Logitech MX Master, this is probably the best mouse you can get, I am speaking from experience, I have the mouse. It won't let you down.
For a keyboard it really comes down to preference, do you want a mechanical, low profile, chiclet, or membrane keyboard. Personally I use a mechanical keyboard with cherry MX brown. It is the Corsair k70, great keyboard for the price.
Love this video. Building a PC has always seemed super intimidating but this video shows how easy and budget friendly it can be!
stephaniexskull This PC wasn't budget friendly lol, but I get what your saying.
It's not hard to build one, you just need a little patience to sit through a tutorial video which are quite plentiful in here, and if you run into an issue, most likely it's a small one that is easily corrected and there's no reason to panic. And today, odds are that you have at least one friend who knows their way around PC's and has built at least one before. Quite different from the past, say 20 years ago when it wasn't as common as it is today.
I think I watched over 10 videos before I built my first. Now I can confidently build solo. It’s super fun, especially when everything works out on your first try!
stephaniexskull 2700$ Is Super Budget Friendly Right?
Budget friendly?! Maybe compared to overpriced rubbish brand names.
OH MY GAWD YASSSSSSS SARAAAAAAAA HELLLLLL YES
Get the Logitech Master MX 2 for mouse, it is the best for editing. Probably a Razer Keyboard or the new logitech Craft, it looks pretty good. For monitor, i would say a asus 4k monitor is good enough, or an LG one

It wouldn't be as much as you think if its not being overclocked.
That makes more sense to me
First off, nice collab Sara. The first video I saw of your was how to Casey Vlog and that was great!
Few things I wanted to throw your way about the build.
1. Get an AIO(All in one) liquid cooler for you PC to replace the big heat sync with the brown fans. You have a nice looking case and that cooler for the cpu just ruins the build aesthetic.
2. Check out cable mod to see if you can get some white and purple cables for your build instead of the plain black ones. Again, aesthetics. :D
3. Check out the MX Master mouse. The new white one would look sick with your white and Purple PC!
Totally just suggestions! You just got a new subscriber, great video.
Devan Barger dude those are good suggestions I just disagree with one and that is the AIO cooler Becuase it would only be a little bit better Than the huge noctua cooler inside there. Air is not that much worst than Water UNLESS you have a custom loop. But if she wanted to get a AIO to match the color scheme a bit more I can see that. Just throwing that out there but good suggestion dude!
Stephen Smith yeah I agree. I just don't like that particular cooler for it's aesthetics. The only reason I would switch coolers is for the looks not performance.
Devan Barger yeah it is a ugly cooler lol.
waiting for a video where you test your new pc with video editing.
i just hope it works well for her
Dang, electrical engineering major, brilliant lady. And you hit the nail on the head, I though building a computer would be like hair pulling hard, but after watching Austin's multiple videos along with this one...it turns out to be fairly simple. But then again, Mac's do have pretty good video editing software, along with math functions surprisingly. A lot of my math teachers use Mac's to write problems and other stuff of that sort.
This was great to watch. I watched a video with Linus yesterday where he built one with a young kid and it was almost uncomfortable how much he was belittling the poor guy. This was really a good video!
This should be Austin Evans channel, i haven't got one single thing of information from Sara at all!

It's a real window

B C no, those are actual windows in his studio.
did Austin just say the Noctua cooler looks COOL?
i built my first pc 2 weeks ago (Ryzen3 1300 gtx1050ti and 8gb Ram) it took me under 1hour and it was actualy so easy i did it without an build guide! The only Problem i later had, was that Windows was an very old version (last update at februar 2017) so i couldn't install the Graphics-Card-Drivers! But it worked
(im 13)
Greetings fron Germany!
4:38
Austin: Hahahahah
Austin's Mind: WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY,..!!!!!!!
That cpu cooler is the biggest joke I've ever seen in a build like this, I can't actually believe he did her that dirty by getting that ugly ass thing with a glass panel 😭😂
x 1, its not glass, 1, and 2, he didn't do her dirty. It's a great cooler. It may not have the best looking fans, but the cooler is really good.
that's your opinion, I personally think of aesthetics as part of the build. I guess I would pay the extra 30$ for the better performing and looking cooler. All together I am not on such a budget like them 'buying a 1080 and z370 chip board' and not to mention this build is 4-5 months ago as prices were still high. They obviously could have spent a little more money and picked up a cooler that is not an eyesore.
Omar Beydoun lol you guys are trolls. That is one of the best coolers in the market and can outperform aio all day. The only one it would have trouble with would be an expensive custom water loop or an Intel processor that isn't delided and overclocked. Change the fans of it bothers you that much but aesthetics are a minor part unless you enjoy staring at your computer all day
The stock cooler would have been 10x better plus why would you even overclock without water cooling.
@@MrTacoMan247
1/ stock rad is ok but can not compare to Noctua. At all.
2/ OC is not related to watercooling. At all.
Back in old days my venerable D14 was able to handle my venerable i5 750 @4.1Ghz
Where the intake fans at? That thing's gonna be a dust magnet :(

1:02 ...the PC MASTERRACE!
Get a Corsair K95 Platinum Keyboard and a Corsair Black Scimitar RGB
That's more gaming peripherals imo. She should just get a Logitech MX Master mouse and a good mechanical keyboard with a decent amount of macro keys.
Thats for gaming she doesnt need that she wants to edit not game my friend even though u can use it for editing but who cares
100 dollars they smashed
Broulf £1000 she smashed him
A year later, The Verge.
also wait what, a TB SSD was 800$ back then
A 4tb ssd
If you don’t have a budget for peripherals... Good mice I strongly recommend would be an Mx Master or something like that from Logitech, Steelseries, Corsair, Razer. The keyboard would have to be something from Corsair or Logitech. Corsair is my recommendation. A simple, good and effective keyboard would be the gold plated strafe RGB. For the microphone I would easily go for a AudioTechnica AT2020 with boom stand or Rode NT-USB with or without boom stand. It comes with a pop filter too. The headphone would be simple stereo or surround headphones. NOT BEATS. You won’t need a headset because having a mic outside the headphones is a more viable option for someone who makes videos. I would recommend Sony. And at last the mousepad. Without a doubt steelseries makes the best mousepads. So choose any size you want from them. Oh and yeah definitely get an LG-Ultrawide monitor! Thanks
Your E.Eng story is sooooo relatable !
the fans were placed wrong
True. Memory might have been in the way, but doubt so as the memory was LPX.
Yeah i noticed that aswell but it’s alright it should run well anyway.
As long as it doesn't run in the opposite direction to the intake it's perfectly fine, they installed nothing wrong
Rodrick Explores I have that cpu cooler and I have the second fan on the back and I tested on the front and back and had no difference, both ways 50°c under full stress (overclocked r7 1700 3.9Ghz)
Rodrick Explores nope, the cpu fans are installed in a Push/pull config.

Wow! Prices have really gone down a lot since the making of this video! I was able to get a 3 TB HDD for about $80, and a 512 GB SSD for around $60. I was really wanting to go for 1 TB SSD, but the total cost was slightly over my budget, so had to Downgrade. But a 1 TB SSD was only about $100 now.

11:36 wtf CPU voltage (Vddcr, core) is way too high. 1.4v+? I run 3.9 on my 1600 at 1.275. Wtf Asus. LLC not working as intended eh? I also use an Asus mobo, but it's a rog strix b350, and stock voltages were around 1.225+0.0735 offset. Easy mode sucks, no options at all.

Austin did u have to explain what everything was before the vid a'm I the only one who understood the vid😂
BRD Tech no i understand I cringed alot
He was explaining to her and her non-‘tech savvy’ audience. Should be obvious.
I did that for 15 years. The main issue is to pick compatible parts, otherwise you may need to upgrade the firmware, drivers or it can be straight up incompatible. The best is to buy best known brands for everything.
Extremely old tech, though. M1 MacBook Air probably has way better performance with 8GB of RAM. It doesn’t even need active cooling.
Inferior tech is always noted by overheating problems.
Great choice you are going to like it. It seems like a powerhouse PC.....
