it's always struck me as bizarre how there's radio silence after that joke. i found it to be the funniest twist of the entire sketch given it's implied this is an alternate-universe Beatles, only to reveal that the Fad 3 existed in the same universe as them, making the joke twice as funny. I wonder what happened with the audience response to that segment.
If you know the history of the Beatles, this is even funnier: They stopped touring in 1966, three years before they broke up. By that point, they could barely hear themselves on stage, and the audience couldn't hear them, either, from whipping themselves into a frenzy. Literally the only thing all these teenage girls wanted was to look at them in person and scream.
@Whitehorse_crimefighter oh jupiters thunder oh popular music is the most criminal of garbages it is a crutch uh it is a crutch it it is a crutch it will never sully my ears
The "photographer" at the opening is Bob's brother, Bill Odenkirk. He went on to be the executive producer of Futurama then after that, The Simpsons. 🙂
The caption under the photo @3:41: "Pol Pot's surviving siblings say they didn't know their brother as an adult but have memories of him as a child. [Saleth Nhego], left, reminiscing at home with his grandchildren, remembered that his brother loved to tell jokes." That context of the background newspaper they used is more disturbing! As well as even more inappropriately funny to this sketch! 😆
They forgot their final photo. The Three in a confrontation with an irrate shopper looking for a fight in a Tesco car park. Their desire to talk down the man and flee earns the photo the name 'Let it Be' (or its original title 'Get Back').
The 3 of them have not spent much time together since one them is no longer alive basically. Lol. This show was no stop with the silly one liners. Half the time seemed like the audience missed them they were so rapid fire.
2:54 it would have been funny if after the interviewer asked "fellas do you think your fame will grow?" they said: "You're asking me will our fame grow? I don't know, oh I don't know."
What a great way to take down people who accuse famous musicians of just being pretty... although frankly boy bands since the Mid 80's generally are just their looks...
I've reused the joke, "He said he would be willing to a reunion but only under any circumstances" multiple times. Great line.
"We've been photographed more than Jesus Christ."
probably the best mockery of/homage to the beatles you can ask for!
That joke works on multiple levels lol
@@ShockMe1994 probably the best Beatles related joke I’ve heard ever, god Bob and David are geniuses.
Even the Rutles missed the opportunity on that joke
John Ennis's muttonchopped chap is one of my favorite things in the world.
Indeed, Mr. President. We need more like it.
It’s fine, but I doubt it would be one of your favorite things in the world if Bob and David and then hadn’t said how much THEY love it
I was driving today and the line "but only under any circumstances" went through my head. I had to pull over
How could anyone not love these guys?
'Elements such as....the rise of The Beatles....' is such a good buried joke

1:38 - Yellow Submarine ad in the background. This is quite a complex timeline.
"He would said he would be willing to do a reunion photo, but only under any circumstances."
Their images really took to the film. It stuck right on there, and I knew this was going to be a photo.
I love how they perform in person by standing there and subtly changing poses. And the crowd goes wild!
Ennis's old English man is so fucking funny
I think fromthedoor meant that the man is old, not the English.

That's why popular music is terrible. It's not about anything but marketability to tweens looking for something to buy and be a part of
@Whitehorse_crimefighter oh jupiters thunder oh popular music is the most criminal of garbages it is a crutch uh it is a crutch it it is a crutch it will never sully my ears
1:50 is literally the most hilarious shit, David Cross saying “I’m still scared, I’m afraid…”
A very underrated part of this I think is that they are literal shaggy hippies as early as 1963 lol
The "photographer" at the opening is Bob's brother, Bill Odenkirk. He went on to be the executive producer of Futurama then after that, The Simpsons. 🙂
Yes, the statement,"We've been photographed more than Jesus Christ" was a great play on the Lennon remark...
+Mvader 71, I thought it was Harrison (the other dead beatle) that said that.
No, it was John Lennon.
"Larry's continuing car problems" lmfao
Yay! As a Beatles fan, this is one of my favourites!
The caption under the photo @3:41:
"Pol Pot's surviving siblings say they didn't know their brother as an adult but have memories of him as a child.

😆
1.00 straight away you realise it's the first mote of A Hard Days Night. Clever
A little Beatles, a little Rutles, a whole lotta funny.
They had charisma. You have to give them that.
Mr Show leaves SNL for dead.
This sketch pretty much predicted “influencers.” Mr. Show does it again!
Can't help it, still scared, I'm afraid.
Lmfao
They forgot their final photo. The Three in a confrontation with an irrate shopper looking for a fight in a Tesco car park. Their desire to talk down the man and flee earns the photo the name 'Let it Be' (or its original title 'Get Back').
So they decided to give one final performance, from the balcony of Larry’s flat, but no one came to photograph them.
“But only under any circumstances”
“But only under any circumstances “ I use this all the time at work
1:06 Two Davids in one shot? Or is that someone else
I think the photographer is Bill Odenkirk
"Their imagines really TOOK to the film and I KNEW... this was going to be a photo"
Brilliant
Bob O. makes me laugh every time I see him. 😁
They should’ve kept the outtake where Sarah Silverman is like “I like the Jew”
Albert Einstein @ 0:20 - Poster of Genius!
Another "the best comedy skit ever" from Mr. Show.
not only were they hillarious...they are great actors
He was the short one :)
I like how the ''rise of The Beatles'' is last on the list of what brought the fellas down.
"... but only, at any cicumstances..."
Best line in the entire sketch.
Ennis killed me in this 😂
I die laughing every time 😂😂😂
Lol, I was down a Wikipedia rabbit hole, the end of a page just mentioned The Beatles, and it made me think of this skit and I had to load it up.
Alongside the Simpsons' "The B sharps" this is one of the greatest parodies of the Beatles I've ever seen
Here cos of recent Chicago Bob Odenkirk podcast he mentions this. Wow his English accent it usually terrible but he is good at the Scouse accent!
He usually does a Northern accent of some sort.
you're all complaining that everyone does this now but they were the first. you're standing on the shoulders of giants.
Jonas Brothers. That's them.
Oh the relentless persecution I must endure.
One day in 40-50 years, a young person (and their companion) will watch this video and not realize that it's analogous to the Beatles.
The 3 of them have not spent much time together since one them is no longer alive basically. Lol. This show was no stop with the silly one liners. Half the time seemed like the audience missed them they were so rapid fire.
Hahaha the LACK of controversy :D :D :D
1:41 my favorite
Seeing parodys of the beatles make one realize how much oasis resembled rhem lol
In another part of the Multiverse : I'm I am John Lennon, Did You Know you have rigths??? Well, you Have! Better Call John!
In another part of the Multiverse John Lennon doesn't have 5 houses on 6 Continents so he never wrote Imagine no possessions 😅
"They didn't spend as much time together after Larry's suicide" 😅🤣
You know what? I just got that joke today. And I've watched this a lot of times! Damn ADHD!
@@nicholasmoose6574 I love brilliant comedy 😄
And he now spends his days between aisle 7, and the break room...
Hahaha, all these years, and I never noticed the shitty onion in a cup or whatever it is, on the breakroom table!
“We’ve been photographed more than Jesus.”
😂
Ikr. John lennon.
Oh the relentless persecution I must endure... lol Can we say genius writing ?
1:41 cracked me up!
Is that Sarah Silverman?
Fuck yeah that wide.
Thursday!!
Love it lol
1:40 im dead!!!
Film development went up one pound and they faded into obscurity lol
Frightfully New!🤔😆😆😆
The Fad 3. Paving the way for the likes of Samantha Fox.
1:41
1:30 Sarah Silverman
Are we not gonna talk about Tom Kenny
Sponge bob?
2:54 it would have been funny if after the interviewer asked "fellas do you think your fame will grow?" they said: "You're asking me will our fame grow? I don't know, oh I don't know."
Was that Sarah Silverman?!
It's pronounced Norridge not Norwitch even though it's spelled Norwich
How do you like America? Sunnyside Up
0:38 Public Relations Agent. Thats a Propaganda Minstry.
What a great way to take down people who accuse famous musicians of just being pretty... although frankly boy bands since the Mid 80's generally are just their looks...
Did David know he dropped the tonearm on the wrong side of the record or had he never used a wind-up before??
He did it that way to upset you
John Ennis wins this one!
This is obviously a sketch. Seriously.
Great. Sarah Silverman girl on left.
And her sister Laura on the right.
Only 3000 views? The public is missing out. Probably out watching Jersey Shore or some other bullshit.
I miss the old Sara Silverman.
