I started DMing a couple months ago and Dollar Tree has been an amazing resource for inspiration and craft materials. I found a pink plastic dollhouse that was easily converted into a multi-purpose Inn/House with a coat of paint.
I use the ladders off of those firetrucks (the ones around the 14:20 mark) on modern/sci-fi/apocalypse terrain pieces, and I have also stripped the red led lights out of them also, along with their switches.
Dude I love you positivity! As an adult toy collector I started hitting Dollar Tree for the Final Faction stuff to save money still get cool stuff. Lot's of stuff at the dollar stores can be re painted and modified. I started making my own toys and characters by cutting, glueing and repainting $1.25 action figures from Dollar Tree.
I've made so many racks of potion bottles with the tiny cork tops, filled with glitter hot glue. The craft clamps and the embossing tool are legit handy. And the make up brushes are the best dry brushing brushes around!
Agreed! The DollarTree is a treasure trove of D&D crafts and the cheap blush/contour makeup brushes are great for dry brushing terrain and minis. A rouge brush for the rogue miniature. 😂
I play many forms of table top gaming for the past 15 or so years and I love doing arts an craft type stuff as well every since I was little. So I always go to places like this to see what they have. Oddly enough I was in the Dollar Tree today browsing for snacks because I was going to be house sitting for my sister. When I found myself in the crafting section again. I got for $3 this pack called "Mini Diamond Filler". It has 9 little round containers in it filled with most likely 100-200 tiny diamond shaped colored plastic bits. They're maybe around 1mm big and there was 9 different colors. When I saw them the first thing that came to mind was treasure pile, open chest showing loot, special/enchanted gear piece laying around dungeon floors, and maybe even shop shelf displays. All scatter terrain.
Sweet! Sometimes those tiny round sparkly bits can be used for a grommet type effect when crafting metal type terrain. They look great when paints over.
Damn I just got a mad urge to hit the dollar tree after watching this video. My brother made some terrain boards for this game called Star Wars legion and I’ve wanted to start making 3-D terrain for dnd recently and this gave me some mad inspiration so thanks
Some of those garden figures could be used as giants, idols, statues, etc. Cheap enough to buy and keep a few in your stash. Definitely need repainting.
Thanks for another great Dollar Tree video! The place is inspirational for game crafters and I'm glad you take the time to point out all the opportunities for crafting bargains.
I like the sand castle. You could use two of them and some play dough to make kinda a clay blow mold. I could see this being used as a backdrop for a boss fight or major campaign event.
I've been thinking of hitting the thrift store to look for some "magical artifacts" you find so many cool things made of brass, tin, wood, ceramics, and glass. So many random baubles and trinkets you could easily center a magic item around.
Thank you. I think the ol’ RUclipss suppresses my content because I have previously uttered many of their “forbidden words” in the past, not knowing such a thing existed. For some reason, though, the D&D and Dollar Tree content takes off 🤷🏻♂️
Informative and funny commentary from our favorite flamboyant wizard. Happy pride from Missouri! Wish my Dollar Tree had as much selection as yours though.
Just recently picked up a batch of character figures about 2 in tall at Family Dollar. Incredibles, He-Man, Brave, Transformers, Monsters Inc, Power Rangers, DC super heroes. $1 each.
@@Luci_the_loser there is always something great to craft with at the dollar stores. I’ve got a He-man figurine I crafted into a statue a few years ago, it still needs paint. The pile of shame. Lol

dollar tree has always been a good spot for craft supplies, but since that price increase its even better, makes crafts accessible to everyone
