dt990s are amazing use them for awhile then pick these up later on as an upgrade :)
I have a pair, after having the DT990s, Hifi Man Sundara's, VMODA Crossfades, these are absolutely the best, especially for gaming.

Pizza and you can find the hd660s on amazon for $350-$375 range sometimes vs $600 for the dt1990s. Looking at getting those for my next upgrade

QUESTION:
I have the DT990 Pro 250 Ohm version and the 600 Ohm versions. At some point they both started to crackle on high bass.
Would that likely still be the case if I upgrade to a DT 1990? I also have the Sennheiser 660s and the T1 2nd Gen in mind. Or should I be looking at something else altogether?
My budget is $1000.
Oh…and I’m buying this primarily for action and sci-fi movies.

Hey BT, i see you were running the DT1990 on the single ended port of your Loxjie P20, does it have enough juice for it ? Do you run your HD800S on this port or balanced ? thanks. :)
Also you should try the Amiron Home and compare them. They easily win on comfort, the 1990s are too clampy for long sessions.
And did you see the recently announced Audeze LCD-GX ?
I run my hd800s on my loxjie. It has more than enough juice to run the dt1990s on the single end port as well. I haven't seen those yet I need to check them out :) I really want to pick up the hd820s though.. I heard them in person ad was blown away

How deep are the earcups? I have big ears and headphones always press on my ears and make them uncomfortable after an hour or two. Compared to like the HD6xx or something are they comparatively shallow or deep?

which mixer is the best for dt 1990 ? please let me know because i have Focusrite solo 3d generation fot dt 1990 and its so bad ! when i play i cant listen to the steps of the enemy or rather ! (sourround sound is to bad)

For those 880s 600 ohm are actually much better but you need some serious power but for
Under a $800 you can a pair of headphones and amp and dac its a crazy setup
i found a pair certified renewed on amazon for 480 dollars. they have a few pairs i think if you don’t mind them being sent back and tested/ repaired to sound like new.
Can you try to review some etymotic earphones? The er2xr probably has the most bass among all etymotic line up. Cost around 130$ on massdrop and amazon.
Can beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro headphones run without an audio interface? Or will it give better performance? And I have a usb fifine microphone, Can the USB microphone be attached to the audio interface?

I find it interesting how people claim that $500 headphones are extremely expensive, when they have a $2k computer setup. It's upper mid-fi. There are several headphones above $1k. And yes, value does fall off a cliff.
IMO, buy a pair of these. You should have a killer headphone for 10 years. Replace the pads every 3-4 years, spending approximately $50 each time. Option B: you can buy a 2080 super and "have" to buy a new gpu 4-5 years down the road. The headphones have better value in the end.
Oi, What about the amp/dac?! You'll spend over $650 total! Buy used or on amazon.co.uk....or on a damn sale. Or hell, get the 600ohm DT 880/990 and a decent amp/dac. Tons of options. Spend more, get a good amp/dac and used HD800. etc etc
I still don't trust Hifiman though. I hope they are built better than the 400i/s were. I've heard very good things about sound, but I don't want to put money on them.

They are. a used pair could be bought for around 400 and it will last you a decade( I hope mine lasts me another 9 years :D ) if you take good care of them.

Have this paired with yamaha wxc-50 streamer into topping d50 dac into aune x1s. The thing sounds amazing.

@@Devouv3r mate one more question currently i have ssl2+ which I bought for my Sennheiser microphone and recently got 990 pro and 1990 pro but my ssl is not powerful enough to drive those 250ohms headphones the volume is not loud at all.
Can you tell if topping L30 can do it? That would be a huge help for me, I’m in confusion right now.
