if you have been on it for a long time , probably it is best to cut down 100 mg per week. Sometimes withdrawing in a week ( as indicated by manufacturer) is too fast
So true . Even if your doctor advises a tapering regime, we're all different. I cut down too quickly. So scary, and i don't frighten easily. Please be careful🌺
I'm taking neurontin for a month and I feel much better. Lyrica isn't gabapentin. I take as much as I need and eat healthy food but on weekends I don't take it is used otc Meds but on Sunday I start again . I take wat I need cause chronic pain is only understood by people who suffer with it. In 5 years this is the only thing that helped me. I had a double cervical disc replacement in January last year now felt good for 2 weeks. My doctor prescribes Meds for people with mild pain so I did my research and begged my GP to prescribe it . I now have appetite and feel like gyming again cause since I was wrongly diagnosed for 5 years I lost weight almost anorexic but I feel hopefull now.
I'm taking pre gablin for anxiety disorder and I find they can cause bad side affects and the withdrawals can be horrific I try too only take now when needed like if I'm going out to crowded places or if I do have one off my bad days. I find aswell if you take them on the night time you wake up feeling sick as a dog. I find there better first thing in the morning. But all in all there not to be taken lightly and they are highly addictive.

Trust yourself also. Completely agree that all medications have side effects. But Pregabalin tapering is hell on earth for many of us. There was is nothing idiosyncratic about Pregabalin side effects. For many, it is very helpful .
doctors know nothing about gabapentin. ..They prescribe them as they are a cheap option..but also they don't understand the addiction potential. . I know a heroin addict who stated coming off gabapentin is worse than coming off heroin. ..I take it for herniated discs and associated nerve pain but really wish I could find a alternative
IF YOU WANT TO BE PATRONISED~TALKED DOWN TO, AND ENJOY BEING CONDESCENDED TO~WATCH THIS!!! IF NOT, THEN THERE ARE MANY OTHER GREAT WAYS TO GET THIS INFORMATION!!!
It CAN but it won't help 100%. Plus you get hooked on gaba drugs bro that's a hell worse than an opiate withdrawal could introduce you to. The Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome that is present with benzos and gabapentinoids is far worse than opiates.
Maybe your dose was too high. I took 200mg of gabapentin but had to go down to 100mg at night only (due to a slow heart rate.) I had no problems with withdrawal or stopping the med which l sometimes do.Since no one will prescribe narcotics anymore, those of us in pain have few alternatives.
This is a horrible medicine. Just as addictive as opiates. I had an awful reaction to them. I stopped cold turkey or I would have had to go to the hospital because it made me clinically depressed
I use to take this med. I stopped by myself. It causes memory loss bad. They don't know how much damage to Liver it Causes. Prevents the Regeneration of Brain Cells...! But it can be Very Helpful Getting off of Opiates...!
I’m on 500mg three times a day it helps me a lot generally, but during flare ups of my Fibromyalgia it doesn’t help much. I don’t experience any side effects other than dry mouth. I’m a curious person, so I opened up one of my capsules, the white powder tasted bitter, yet reminded me of paracetamol is this a hoax pill ? It’s had a lot of attention. I’m laughing as I write this....I’m such a sceptic! 😂
I am taking Lyrica as a way of joy (what an idiot) and i want to take it in a safe dose so how can I keep taking it without getting addicted. I am taking 150mlg per day
Odai Abbas You WILL get addicted, and probably you already are (Depends on how long you’ve been taking it, but daily use will cause addiction 100%. If you want to know if you’re addicted or not, try to stop taking the medicine, and see what happens...
Pregabalin withdrawal is a living hell. I cut down from 150mg to 100mg in a week. I ended up jerking and twitching involuntarily for over and hour . Stroke like symptoms also. I take it for nerve pain. I want to cut down 10mg at a time. I've never been a drug user. So much respect for anyone who has overcome any drug addiction. I don't know how you did it. I am very strong willed but Pregabalin is a nightmare to taper off.
Withdrawing off pre gablin is absolutely horrific. I know 2 days in bed feeling sick as a dog you burn up and then go freezing cold carnt eat for about a week!! Cut down slowly then stop. Side affects can be horrible too on high doses. Feeling sick and groggy. But they do work and help me for my anxiety disorder. I try to only take when needed.
The first time I was on max dose 600ml I was in bed feeling like I had a really really bad fever I. It started off with a sickness feeling every time I was standing up I felt so sick I had to lie down. Then I was going so hot like I was going to explode then freezing cold. Shaking sweating it's horrific. I dident realise how bad it was. About 2 days I was in bed feeling rough but I couldn't eat for a week. The next time I cut right down slowly but even then it's so intense. I'm on 150ml now I am finding it much better and I'm having less side affects. It's not a nice drug to be on but it does help me with my anxiety disorder. What ever you do don't drink alcohol on them.
I'm now free from pre gablin and I think it's a horrific drug. Withdrawal is so severe. If they wasent so addictive and without side affects they would be great. But I'm never taking them again after a 9 day withdrawal. I think they should be banned and that's saying something about how bad they actually are.
I tried lyrica and it caused swelling of throat & lips after one dose.My neurologist started me on 100 mg of gabapentin and wanted me to work up to 200 mg. That dose caused a slow heart rate so now l take 100mg at night and sleep much better. Some of the doses l'm reading about here are way too high. Also l had no problems decreasing the dose or stopping gabapentin.
Does anyone know more about gavaphenton and pain . This is what they give me for severe arthritis pain after 20 years on hydrocodon . ,One week on gabapentin I feel sick and hurt like Hell 🎡♿🎢 🚫💊💈
@@eddaytona9629 I mean I have tons of info if it's still relevant to you. But that should not have occurred at all. Whichever doctor took you off your opiates and replaced it with these was highly irresponsible and you should speak to a lawyer about suing for malpractice.
Mine too. 11/9/21 I am in the UK currently withdrawing from it. Day 4 crashing headache, nausea, confusion . I am on 1800mg a day just stopped 100mg in the mornings so far since Weds. been on it since 2014, I have fibromyalgia and neuropathy. It didn’t help the neuropathy at all. I was living a confused Gabapentin and brain fog fibromyalgia life. I saw pain clinic and they were so helpful so hopeful I can recover from Gabapentin and learn a new way to cope with neuropathy and Fibro. All the very best to you. 💫

I can definitely tell you that the physical pain from coming off lyrica is on a similar level as heroin. Absolutely aweful

How are u now? How much and how long did u take this med?

Two friends warned me not to take it, as it also made them extremely depressed. Are you alright now? Cold turkey, that must have been horrible.
