Thanks. I'm glad you appreciate their music, the extraordinary talent of all the band members. Yes, they also have slower songs: "Sleeping Sun", "Dead Boy's Poem", "While Your Lips Are Still Red", "The Islander", "Slow Love Slow"... I'm sure you'll like it. :)
For something slower by Nightwish, you could check out While Your Lips Are Still Red from the Wembley concert, Dead Boy's Poem from the Buenos Aries concert or How's The Heart, the Planet Rock acoustic version.
The drummer here is Jukka. I miss him. He's so energetic. Sadly he had to quit because of severe insomnia. He's still involved with the band, but in the background.
You want slower try Sleeping Sun at Tampere. It’s also epic. You have to do Ghost Love Score from this Wacken show. It’s the benchmark for all versions and the best of the lot. You cannot miss that one. Great analysis of this great song
And it wasn't like it was the first time Kai heard it. He was Jukkas drum tech during most of this tour. But not during festival season, then he was back behind the drums in Wintersun. So when Jukka chose Kai to replace him he already knew everyone in the band, and those around the band.
@@darkiee69 Kai only did some drum tech stuff in studio but never on tour. A guy named Ulch was the band's drum tech for 18 years until he retired in 2018. Now they have a new one, Jarkko. :)
2nd and longest running bassist, Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah) is a classically trained guitarist, bassist, songwriter and fantastic vocalist both solo and in harmony. He is the 2nd vocalist in the band, as you will learn as you discover more amazing songs! Gabriel is the peer-appointed General of The Nightwish Army! It seems that we are just a collection of fans...but there's a bit of structure and intention on how we spread out and provide different support to new fans. All done with love for the band, respect for one another and encouragement to all new fans! I'm proud to be, Nightwish Army, Palm Springs, CA, USA!
Yes this is Marko Hietala on bass. He was the second bass player for Nightwish. Sami Vänskä 1998-2001, Marko Hietala, 2001-2021, and Jukka Koskinen, of Wintersun, has been playing bass with them for a little over a year now. Not sure if he has been named as a permanent, full member of the band yet or not. For a slower one, still rather epic, I suggest Dead Boy’s Poem from Buenos Aires. Also, Slow Love Slow, (with Floor or Anette), Kiss While Your Lips are Still Red (if you want to hear Marko on lead vocals) for other excellent slower songs.
Since the "Marco sings" cat is already out of the bag, try out "The Islander" live at Tampere, I think you'll be surprised at how far removed it is from the Epic Anthems, yet still is distinctly Nightwish.
They have a 30 year catalogue to explore! Check out "I want my tears back", specifically Buenos Aires 2018, different facet of their sound and just a blast!
That drummer is Jukka Nevalainen (Not to be confused with current bassist who filled in for Marco, Jukka Koskinen (Wintersun). Jukka was the original drummer before he had to leave due to health issues but he stayed on doing the day to day business for NW. The current drummer is his mentor and friend Kai Hahto (Wintersun). And yes all songs are very different but all so epic. And yes they do it all. Hard and fast or softer and beautiful. Check out the official MV for 'Elan' or "The Islander" live from Tampere.
A really good slower number with Marco singing lead is While Your Lips Are Still Red. Btw, Bob, thank you for being a music teacher. Mine was just a regular Joe way back when, but he taught us so much more than music: honor, courage, integrity, faithfulness, and teamwork.
It is said about drummer Jukka Nevalainen: he plays those drums as if they owe him money😁 BTW excellent reaction, and my fav slower NW song: Dead boys poem from the Buenos Aires 2018 concert, her voice at the end: piercing your soul! (her outfit amazing as well)
My favorite suggestion at the moment for a slower ballad-type song is their acoustic version of How's the Heart. The recording with Planet Rock is fantastic and features just Floor and Troy. Dialed down but no less mind-blowing!
Probably my favorite song from Nightwish, and this version is the most amazing of them. It's got everything. Such an amazing band live. Such talent. And obviously Floor has an amazing and versatile voice (and so does Marco!) but her stage presence, charm and charisma. You can't take your eyes off of her, and if she claps or urges you to cheer, you do. And she smiles or gives a thumbs up when you do, too. I was lucky enough to see them in NYC a few months ago. Greatest show I've ever seen in my life.
Dead Boy's Poem live from Buenos Aires is a good one if you want something slower. Also While Your Lips Are Still Red live from Wembley...beautiful song, with Marco on lead vocals. The acoustic version of How's the Heart, with just Floor and Troy playing acoustic guitar is lovely, as well.
After every windmill she's ready to sing. Welcome to Our Beautiful Floor . She's special on and off the stage and her stage presence Rocks. She's a Highly Sensitive Person and so she has some form of Empathy. She's called herself a vocal technique nerd and was a vocal coach. Anette the 2nd singer had someone sing the operactic part.Tuomas asked Floor if she needed that too and she said no. They are her brothers. I call her Beauty and the Beast when she's on stage
Dead boys poem is the best ballad of them (live buenos aires)!!, thanks for react to nightwish!!..''sleeping sun'' is another good ballad from nightwish!!
Great reaction!! They are all so talented and bring so much joy. Floor really is spectacular.. the most beautiful voice I have heard in my life. Everything about Nightwish blows my mind. I could suggest Nightwish performing Dead Boys Poem live Buenos Aires 2018. It´s a ballad and one of the most beautiful things you could ever experience ... just breathtaking!!
Sleeping Sun (Tampere 2015) Dead Boys Poem (Buenos Aires) And most definitely Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013. Floor-version. Tarja have an original, amazing. But thing evolves 😁
As you said, they are all beasts of music. No weak links, ever, just different talents. Here the drumer was Jukka Nevalainen, nowadays Kai Hahto. Some say, the difference between them, is the same as Starwars Sith lord and Jedi master.

I think you’re part of the Nightwish army now 😄 My favorite ballad is ‘Dead boys Poem’ check out the one live in Buenos Aires. Subscribed to follow your Floor/Nightwish journey.
You need to listen to the entire HUMAN::NATURE album so diverse, so though invoking, Floor really showcases her vocal talent, as do all the members in Fact Tuomas wrote songs that have the members going way above and beyond what you would expect, especially Floor and Emppu(guitar Player)
Welcome to Symphonic Metal, made to be Epic. It's the signature symphonic elements that give the music that full, rich sound. Nightwish have songs with every type of sound, the long grand scores, the softer or heavier ballads, the hard power metal... They even have songs with a bit of that Celtic rock kind of vibe. But as you can tell Nightwish is a live experience, which is not a problem because there has to be about a hundred different Nightwish songs out there on RUclips in an Official live video format, recorded from a performance from somewhere in the world. You'll notice when you get a recommendation from the Nightwish Army it will contain the name of the song along with the specific show they suggest you view it from.

The fans you mentioned...they are singing the with the choir. They are backing up Floor. They can say they sang backup for Floor at Wacken 2013. A great bragging right!!
NIGHTWISH HAS A SLOW JAZZ SONG called Slow Love Slow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or Sleeping Sun. But you have ballads too, like Kiss while your lips are still red.
If you want to experience the versatility of Floor i recommend viewing some things"outside" of Nightwish - i.e. The Phantom if the Opera from the TV show "Beste Zangers" (all her performances were amazing), or her version of "Let it go" - not metal, not Nightwish, but still worth it as heck! ;)
A hidden gem for me...from Imaginarium, Slow Love Slow featuring thier second singer Annette Olsen for something slower...also While Your Lips Are Still Red...another favorite
Ski....Enjoyed your reaction, thank you. A ballad you ask...."Dead Boys Poem" from Buenos Aires concert ( my fave NW slow song, also has a different drummer ) This drummer is Yukka, a very emotional player. Buenos Aires will be Kai more of a tech ( and Very talented ) drummer. Looking forward to your next react. Be well.
I concur with others re slower/balad type songs: Sleeping Sun Tampere Concert Dead Boys Poem Buenos Aires Concert While Ypur Lips are Still Red Waken Concert. I LOVE the complicated drumming Jukka does in this. Kai tried very hard to master what Jukka played so the fans are never disappointed. All of them are excellent musicians
Another great song from Nightwish is Ever dream. And I also want to say thank you for replying to my message I always appreciate that I also fully subscribe to your account after your reply. Good luck with your RUclips react channel thanks again have a great day
No problem Mike! I try to reply to everyone who takes the time to send me a comment. I enjoy the suggestions and generally what people have to add. I certainly don’t know everything and it’s a way for me to learn something new also. Thanks for subbing and keep the comments coming.
Floor is/was/is a vocal coach herself. She recentley posted some Masterclasses on youtube. And Jukka has 3 arms. Have you seen the Floor Fan on the podium ? It is Floor's biggest Fan 😁😁
Hello Bob Cieslinski ! Glad you continued with Nightwish path like this. You asked if there is any slower songs, yes there is. Floor is a phenomenal vocalist, but there is the base player, Marco and his voice is tremendous. Slower piece of Nightwish as Marco is leading is While Your Lips Are Still Red at Wembley, or Islander at Tampere concert. You could react to Marco´s voice it´s really worth of it too. Floor´s slower is too from Tampere concert; Sleeping Sun. Thank you for this one, hope we´ll see with Marco´s or Floor´s slower. Greets from Finland. Take care.
Slower stuff you asked? Sleeping Sun from Tampere 2015, Islander same venue and year, Wembley 2015 Kiss while your lips are still red. Good slower ballads and 2 of them are Marco leading vocals.
the North German Division of the Nightwish Army reports !! The Islander, Walking in the air, Sleeping sun, Dead boy's poem, Sleepwalker, Forever Yours, Creek Mary's Blood, Higher than Hope and maybe High Hopes (Pink Floyd cover)
It's a personal song about what it's like to be an artist, a poet... what it's like to be someone like Tuomas. Now that you got that idea from this, listen it again and follow the lyrics.... :)
as a slower song I can reommend: Sleeping sun (by Tarja or Floor..best both since they are both great with this song) .. and: Walking in the air (Tarja). Both songs giving me chills ever since
This is but a fraction of Floor's abilities. Well worth a visit to her RUclips channel where she chats, performs various covers and gives vocal coaching. This concert features 15 songs all of which were written for previous singers. This song was written for second singer Anette who relied on backing tracks for the operatic part as it was outside her ability. This is probably one of the simpler songs. It's worth listening to Floor's version of Ghost Love Score at this Wacken 2013 concert even if not to react. So many more colours to the performance. For an amazing slower song try Dead Boys Poem live in Buenos Aires 2018.
@@bobcieslinski I see that several have suggested the Islander live at Tampere and Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red at Wembley. It is worth knowing that both will feature Marko as lead vocalist.
Hey Bob, Everything nightwish does is good. Big statement but true! 82,000 people here in Northern Germany. Floor can do it all, growls to full blown opera.
In my opinion Imaginaerum is the best Nightwish album and Anette is absolutely in her element for a record Tuomas wrote specifically with her in mind as the singer. The only ‘problem’ is that , just like for Tarja’s GLS, at this concert Floor just kicked the track up to another level, not least by vocalising those parts not sung by Anette in the album version.. If you want something slower, try Anette’s slow love slow from aforesaid Imaginaerum.
Nightwish Shadow Unit from Estonia reporting in ! 6'1" Valkyrie Goddess spotted ! Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 5 octaves (Eb2 to F5) She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. The Drummer : Jukka "The Pirate" Nevalainen is the former drummer in the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish (left for health reasons, but is still a member behind the scenes). He Is famous among Nightwish fans for wearing a bandana on his head, even during shows, his energetic drumming style, and for his spinning of his drumsticks. Joined Nightwish at the age of 17. This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette. The second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. So,....something slow : Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem - Live In Buenos Aires 2018 - Decades Tour ruclips.net/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/видео.html NIGHTWISH. SLEEPING SUN. The fans you mentioned...they are singing the with the choir. They are backing up Floor. They can say they sang backup for Floor at Wacken 2013. A great bragging right!!
Nice
NIGHTWISH HAS A SLOW JAZZ SONG called Slow Love Slow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or Sleeping Sun. But you have ballads too, like Kiss while your lips are still red.
Yay more Nightwish!
If you want to experience the versatility of Floor i recommend viewing some things"outside" of Nightwish - i.e. The Phantom if the Opera from the TV show "Beste Zangers" (all her performances were amazing), or her version of "Let it go" - not metal, not Nightwish, but still worth it as heck! ;)
Thanks Christian!
Be well.
Thanks Thomas! Hope you are well too.
Great reaction! Listen to the entire Wacken 2013 concert…magical!
MOAR! Subscribed. Dead boy's poem from Gabriel's list is very emotional song!
Marco on base, Jukka on drums Emmpu on guitar, Troy on multi instruments, Irish pipes and flute
😊🇫🇮❤️🎶✨🤘
Have a Great Wknd 👍
The composer and lead man Tuomas Holopainen is called "Modern day Mozart". So you can guess if most of the songs are epic. :D
I concur with others re slower/balad type songs:
Sleeping Sun Tampere Concert Dead Boys Poem Buenos Aires Concert
While Ypur Lips are Still Red Waken Concert.
No I haven’t seen that.
@@bobcieslinski It was in this very video, It is actually a fan that blows air into her face that makes her hair so beautiful
@@corneliusantonius3108 ok I knew a fan was blowing but I misunderstood. I get it now.
@@bobcieslinski We Nightwish fans are a bit silly
@@corneliusantonius3108 always good to be that way. I can be that way in class with my students.
For a slower song i would suggest Dead Boys Poem live from Buenos Aires 2018, it's amazing, well every song is but you will see
Devil and a deep dark ocean live is an epic watch
I do miss jukka nevalainen on the drums. that's probably why I mostly listen to the older stuff from Nightwish.
Hello Bob Cieslinski ! Glad you continued with Nightwish path like this.
You asked if there is any slower songs, yes there is.
Floor is a phenomenal vocalist, but there is the base player, Marco and
his voice is tremendous. Slower piece of Nightwish as Marco is leading
is While Your Lips Are Still Red at Wembley, or Islander at Tampere concert.
You could react to Marco´s voice it´s really worth of it too.
Floor´s slower is too from Tampere concert; Sleeping Sun.
Thank you for this one, hope we´ll see with Marco´s or Floor´s slower.
Greets from Finland. Take care.
Thanks Pen!
Welcome to Nightwish!
Thanks Jamie!
You asked for a ballad so one that I love is Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem
Great reaction and perspective.
Thanks!
Ballad: Dead Boy poem. Tears
You should check out The Islander live in Tampere, Finland.
Sleeping sun is a great slow song .
Slower stuff you asked? Sleeping Sun from Tampere 2015, Islander same venue and year, Wembley 2015 Kiss while your lips are still red. Good slower ballads and 2 of them are Marco leading vocals.
the North German Division of the Nightwish Army reports !! We are there. special greetings to the General of the Army > GabrielBardac <
(in your comments) and of course the rest of the Nightwish army and the sabaton family

Nightwish 💓 great story telling by Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards) our metal Mozart 🤘The song writer and composer of Nightwish songs.
The Islander, Walking in the air, Sleeping sun, Dead boy's poem, Sleepwalker, Forever Yours, Creek Mary's Blood, Higher than Hope
and maybe High Hopes (Pink Floyd cover)
Great reaction!🙃. Drummer Jukka is 👌👌👌👌👌
Thanks!
Slepen Sun (Tampere) is slow and beautiful.
It's a personal song about what it's like to be an artist, a poet... what it's like to be someone like Tuomas.
Now that you got that idea from this, listen it again and follow the lyrics.... :)
Ghost love score - Wacken 2013.
Dead boy's poem - Buenos Aires 2018.
Sleeping Sun is a beautiful ballad - sung first by Tarja (formerly of Nightwish) then Floor Jansen
Ever Dream starts a little softer… ;-)
as a slower song I can reommend: Sleeping sun (by Tarja or Floor..best both since they are both great with this song) .. and: Walking in the air (Tarja). Both songs giving me chills ever since
You should definitely check out their cover of Phantom Of The Opera, with original singer Tarja.
I know some people suggested sleeping son I'm going to suggest to you "dead boys poem" in Buenos Aires live....2018
Great reaction. The whole Wacken2013 concert is awesome from the beginning till the end.
Nightwish, Sabaton, Jinjer, Rammstein, Arch Enemy, The Warning, Aurora, Sigrid, Highasakite, Girl in red, Madrugada ❤️😎🤗🇧🇻 ( 60 yrs young )
Thanks Clive!
Jerry I’m loving Nightwish. They rock man. I can’t wait to hear more. I’ve another one I’m editing now.
Elan, Everdream and Nemo are slower. Also listen to Floor's solo performance of Shallow.
"While Your Lips Are Still Red" Live at Wembly
The islander is what you want. Also on the new album Harvest is good as well. The islander at tempered live
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 5 octaves (Eb2 to F5)
She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls.
So,....something slow :

@@TimoArula yes stupid spellcheck.
