Glad you guys are up here enjoying what we do in our limited time. But there's also ice racing here too. You just have to be willing to freeze nuttz off. 😂
I read this comment before watching the video so I was expecting some cool 9 second Honda or something. Nope! Haha. Really cool tho. Can't imagine running into it on the highway
@@MrFoodAndDrink that's me: i recently pulled the rear drum, saw there's at least 10k miles left on them so i put it back together with the old brakes. El Civìco still getting the job done!
We have actually had well known racers actually drive all the way up the Alaskan highway or by barge to race! Best known was well know fuel altered legends Ron Fassel, Pepsi altered and Ricky Ruiz Nevada rattler altered raced Alaska’s best known car the Alaskan grizzly around 2000! Howmany of you down south know the Alaskan grizzly has the fifth fastest altered run, 1/4 run last I checked 5.75 275! That cool, clean alaska air, plus close to sea level!😉👍
the racing world is not small when its nation wide. people arent stuck in alaska. if people can drive from canada to florida and people can get their cars from austrailia to america theres nothing stopped alaskans from driving through canada into the lower 48.
Nothing but respect for these guys and they definitely have the most beautiful view of all the tracks thats cause its Alaska one day ill make it back out there to go hunting again last time man ill tell ya there was so freaky stuff that happened even our guide was freaked out some. Guess thats a story definitely foe another time and dont even know if i should speak on it.
If you want too see more of that snowmobile drag racing on asphalt or grass you need to go to hodag days in Wisconsin!!! There is a whole weekend of crazy sleds!!
My dad used to race here back in the day in a primer grey GMC and when I was young I saw someone make a pass in a Chevelle and it ended up going into the woods way past the track. Wild sight
😂 dude was ingenious with cutting the civic to load/unload the kawasaki. I mean i've used my svt focus hatch as a means to carry motors, transmissions and various parts at once, but was very smart😎😁 10:28
Hell yeah! Love that you all put some of the Jr. Drag. runs in there! Saw them at the beginning of the video and was wondering if they would make an appearance.
We have drag sleds at my local track at Milan Dragway Michigan them sleds run a full quarter mid low9s a lot of them run gxsr turbo motors or busa turbo. The no prep races are coming up next next month
That is a really good area for cars and bikes. You have drag strip, oval track, and a quarter miles down the road is a really good off road section. Ive taken my dirt bike there several times. Its called Jim's creek and there is a 20 mile trail to the Knik Glacier.
I used to live in wasilla alaska, and couldn’t wait till the season was open. I wasn’t old enough to drive at the time and couldn’t wait to go down the track. I ended up moving away when I was 15. Never got to go down the strip
Damn I seen in the staging lanes a 72 vega wagon, talk about a blast from the past! I had a 1972 vega GT wagon that I had a 632 Shafiroff BBC and a TCI T-400 and a DANA60 with 5:13s it was a dead hooking beast. I really miss that car!
I have seen snow mobiles at the only drag meeting I have been to out of New Zealand at Toronto Motorsports Park and the announcer called the traps speed a buck and a quarter if they went through at 125mph. Hi from NZ, Anthony
My dad used to run his 67 Corvette at that track, 327 4spd car that he street drove in the 80s, ran a 12.10 @ 115mph on crap street tires through the mufflers.
Big respects to the car community in Alaska. I can't imagine how hard it is to get parts out there and being stuck indoors during the long winters.
We switch to sleds in the winter
@@907_Dad sled with twin turbo and nitrous hahaha
Ice racing is actually a thing 1320 have covered it before
@@hayden5099 yeah, in Wisconsin, south of where I live in the upper peninsula. The closest 1/8 mile is 5 hours away. I need to move back top Nebraska.
So during winter the could build cars? 😉
I'm so happy you guys are helping keep Alaska in the spotlight. Especially Alaska Raceway. Love seeing it get more love up there. It needs it.
Glad you guys are up here enjoying what we do in our limited time. But there's also ice racing here too. You just have to be willing to freeze nuttz off. 😂
The Honda civic Ute is the most Alaskan thing I've ever seen in one of 1320 videos.
That's what I said😂
I read this comment before watching the video so I was expecting some cool 9 second Honda or something. Nope! Haha. Really cool tho. Can't imagine running into it on the highway
223k on the rear brakes haha
fun fact. bmw turned an m3 into a pickup truck ute for their factory to move parts around. same energy
@@MrFoodAndDrink that's me: i recently pulled the rear drum, saw there's at least 10k miles left on them so i put it back together with the old brakes. El Civìco still getting the job done!
el civico and the owner are the best part
Chris and his mustang are a class act.

maybe aside from Bandimere Speedway in Colorado at the outskirts of the Rocky Mountains, this is perhaps the most scenic racing spot in North America.
Bandimere is closing its doors 😢
16:18 A SNOWMOBILE FINALLY 1/8th mile monsters
The racing world is small but y’all are just so known Fred!!

Fred's beard is a certified windspeed indicator. 😁🤟
Being from Alaska and city next to Palmer it’s known as a wind hole from the mountains 😂😂

1320,y'all rock! Peace
So funny as a Canadian we have Bike and Sled as the name of class typically. Thought it was like that everywhere. Most of the time its a 50/50 split
This is cool as hell. Can't wait for 1320 to come to Airway heights Npk
Freddie. That hardest working man in the business. Kyle! Give this man a raise!!
In NH snowmobile drag racing on tar is common
Alaska’s racing is like Drag week in one sitting!
lol the sled/bike class, come to Firebird Raceway in Idaho, we run those every weekend
Love these videos every year
Welcome back here to Alaska!! Would love for cleetus and boosted boiz come here

Dude that civic is awesome next time I go out to the track I gotta find it 🤙🤘
Beautiful Track!
El Civico is so dope!
The dragstrip in Lewistown, Montana has cool views of the mountains too. It’s an older small track. You might like to check it out or look up pictures
Definitely best view, period.
What.... I didn't even know you stopped by here!?! ahhh! Well that's super cool you came to Alaska!!!!
When I was stationed at ft wainwright(fairbanks) they would race on the airstrip in the summer.
At the drag strip I grew up going to they had a bracket just for snowmobiles and there was usually 15 to 20 there each time
The baby dragsters are so cute 😂

This dragstrip is on my bucket list! Is this video 8 months old? Why did it take so long to post?
Alaska is an awesome place especially this drag strip I made a trip here last year. The sound was way different
The el civico is Alaskas spirit animal
Best view EVER !!
🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸
Gorgeous landscape.
I'm from Michigan and I've seen snowmobiles at Milan dragway. They're quick.
I have seen snow mobiles at the only drag meeting I have been to out of New Zealand at Toronto Motorsports Park and the announcer called the traps speed a buck and a quarter if they went through at 125mph.
Hi from NZ,
Anthony
Honda civic man said original clutch, and original brakes! Wow!
Canada has great stops too!
My dad used to run his 67 Corvette at that track, 327 4spd car that he street drove in the 80s, ran a 12.10 @ 115mph on crap street tires through the mufflers.
In New Brunswick we have a few people that run snowmobile on the dragstrip. Some even running mid 8.
So awesome!
We race the same types of snowmobile at the track here in quebec in the summer then on water too
Ontario Canada , snowmobile drag racing is a big thing and there’s fast !
I was at the strip when tinman won state champ in 07. Bike 2as wicked
You guys should come up for winter side by side racing on frozen lakes
Fastest click from the uk what a place to be alaska😀
