I never got the age difference thing either. Of Elena & these 150 yr old vampires. Maybe her innocence is what attracts them? But she looks like Katherine, so that's either a bad memory or a do-over. Apparently the latter. I think Bonnie & Enzo have the purist love by far on the entire show. But Damon's love for Elena was touching. It was stupid she broke up with him then a few weeks later he gets stuck on the other side with Bonnie & she's screaming "Don't leave me!"....ugh, they just got back together. Immature. Or the writers had to have the Elena screaming scene....they shouldn't have had them break up over ? Something stupid in the 1st place....it makes no sense she blows him off, then is devasted not a week later? Big respect for Julie Plec though, I think she did even better with The Originals, Klaus & Cami worked for me & seeing Klaus's protective side for Cami really got me. It's like they intensified Damon & Elena...without the immaturity. I only watched b/c filmed in NOLA & I'm THAT homesick...but alas, it turned out to be Ga, where I live now. Atlanta New Orleans....so very different. There's no place like New Orleans.
