Danny Maude is one of the best if not the best golf instructors on the internet or RUclips. I’m a very good player but always looking for instruction that reinforces good practice and a way to dial it back in from a checkpoint perspective when old habits creep back into the game. Its also nice to be able to relay an instruction like this to a new player looking for help. What a great video of instruction. Love how he helps his own dad. Danny, you have a great heart!
Love the videos with your Dad. My Dad was always my favorite golf partner. How lucky you are to still have your Dad to play golf with. Mine passed when I was 43, and now at 81, I still haven't found a better golf partner. Of course, as an older golfer, I always find your videos helpful. Keep them coming Danny, especially the ones with your Dad.
doing several of his drills has improved my game 100%. I turned 63 this year and am playing my best golf ever. Tied my lowest score ever. He's changed me from a life long slicer to now hitting the ball straight as an arrow most times. Chipping is my weakest link, I'm definitely going to try this method.
You are so lucky to have a dad still around to enjoy golf with. Watching this brings a smile to my face, you two are great together. Also thanks for the tips. I tried this out in the garden and hit nearly every chop perfectly straight and to where I wanted it to go.
Honestly Danny, you need to feature your father more regularly. It is wonderful watching him improve from your lessons and it’s heartwarming as well as inspiring. His lack of practice time is an issue facing all of us. I will be putting these tips to work because I will be recalling your knowledge and thinking of your father at the same time. You both are a dynamic team and memory aid this way. You don’t need me to tell you that you are a lucky son.
Watched another video of you teaching your dad. I watch and like you and your lessons but I really think you dad is wonderful.. I enjoy listening to him and watching him learn. You to guys are the best. Tell you dad he is simply a wonderful man and "student"
EXCELLENT, EASY TO FOLLOW ADVICE. Lovely to see your dad's face light up when he chips well. A GREAT TEACHER CAN SPOT A FAULT & PROVIDE A SIMPLE CURE. Full marks to both of you. I & many golfers will be able to improve our chipping.
Lost my father to cancer 7 yrs ago. Not a day goes by i don’t think of him. So cool seeing you help your father. I’m sure you do but enjoy every minute. BTW. Thanks for the tips.
Fantastic video Danny. It was exactly what I was doing wrong with my setup and right wrist. I just practiced what you said with amazing results in the backyard. I am playing tomorrow morning and I will be chipping better using this method. Thanks for your help Danny 😊
It was great to see him getting his confidence back. It will take some practice and time for him to fully gain it in competitions but he’s now on his way
It must be so satisfying to be able to help your dear Father save valuable shots in a round of golf. Brilliant, easy to follow instruction on the short game around the greens! It seems that your Dad doesn’t need any help in putting! Thanks Danny, this shows how important it is to make solid contact, especially when chipping!
Always a pleasure seeing Mr Maude senior! BTW nice set of clubs too. Thanks for the drill Danny. I'll take it with me when I play next. Have a good week!
Danny: I’m a 78 year old guy, three kids but sadly no golf Pro’s. So I’m adopting you. What a joy to see you working with your Dad. All the Best to you both. Thanks for the great tip.
Great video. Love seeing my favorite student being happy about his game. This is something I desperately need and can't wait to get outside to experiment. Thanks
Danny thank you so much for another wonderful chipping lesson. I applied your chipping techniques from the other videos but have been getting nervous and the right wrist has been breaking down experiencing exactly what your Dad has. what i just saw is the final part of the puzzle to really improve my chipping. Thanks again, you're a great Coach.
Hey Danny, your videos have helped me so much,im a 21 handicapper never won at my club but have won twice in 3 weeks,So thanks for all the great videos👍 How lucky your dad is to have you as a son that can help his game and make it enjoyable again,Keep up the good work👍
I just watched your short game lesson from a year ago with Pete Cowen. In it, up until the 8:30 mark, you also were not lifting your back foot through impact. After the 8:30 point you did start lifting the back and your ball striking and directional control improved as here with the club under the heel of the trail foot drill. I’ve spent a good bit of time over the years experimenting with all the bio-mechanical variables in the golf swing and think the flair and lifting action of the back foot are two of the most critical in terms of controlling direction consistently. Keeping the back foot flat on the ground restricts hip rotation, why the heel needs to lift through impact to keep body and hands moving at a constant radius around the center of rotation. The flare angle of the back foot will affect both how much the hips can turn open in the backswing before leg torque stops the rotation and how the back foot peels up off the ground. Most golfers today square both feet to the swing line as if it the eleventh commandment engraved on some stone tablet, but since most have a naturally flared walking gait to some degree it will cause restriction in the hip turn in the backswing and cause the foot to stay flat as it comes up which affects how the trail leg bends and the hips turn. The goal shouldn’t be how to set the feet but rather the desired action of the body in the swing so it made sense to me to experiment with various flare angles of MY feet (which flare a lot in my walking gait) until I got the ideal turning of the body and hands. Because of my natural gait I find I get better movement starting from a slightly flared back foot. That way as the heel lifts contact with the ground stays on the inside of the foot making the release of the hips into the finish more controlled, especially in partial swing shots.
Hi Danny, This is a wonderful lesson. Short game is a make or break play for us - club golfers. Getting a good shot with these tips are going to reduce at least a shot per hole. Thanks a ton. Keep it going, Danny, you are making a great difference to our games.
I felt your dad’s pain, as I have exactly the same problem as him. It really spoils your enjoyment of the game. Hopefully he’s back enjoying golf more, and I will be too. Great vid, thanks.
Always great tips and for me this is the most important area of my game that still needs improvement - Danny is my favourite go to golf guru when I need help!
Great video.. I love the live sessions where you can see the 'student', however senior or related they may be :-), seeing the benefit first hand... Brilliant....
Going up to the course to work on this - Now! Short shots into the green have been killing my game. At least I have a clear understanding of what to work on now. As always, a fantastic video Danny
You nailed it once again. Struggling with the short chips ... inconsistent. Now, I have a visual tool for success when I short-side myself around the greens. Thanks, Danny!!
Danny.. you are the best!! I love the lessons you provide to us!!! I wish we could clone you so we us people across the pond can visit you in person for lessons!! Keep it the good work.
That's the basics of it! You improved your dad's set-up and got him to focus on keeping the body turning. His strike improved and so will his consistency! Great, simple stuff!
I love this one Danny. I can now see what goes wrong when my chips aren't working. I can now see that when I'm having a bad chipping day it's because I've got too wristy. Looking forward to getting my chipping more consistent now. Thanks as always and have a great weekend.
Thank you. I enjoy the respect that you and your Dad have for one another, and being in his age group I relate and learn so much from your instruction with him. At 77 I still like to walk when the course is build for it, I work out and stay in good physical shape, but have lost a lot of distance off the usual white tees and now moving to front tees to make 4s and 5s in regulation with my approach being with an iron - although I'm more relaxed and scoring and enjoying more like I used to, I'm still not sure if it's age and/or something I've lost from my driver .... any comment or suggestions?
Great video! Going to try this out tonight at league 🤞I get handsy like your Pops and definitely needed the reminder about the setup and and follow through.
Thanks Danny. I found that very useful. I have been practicing what you demonstrated and I find a great improvement - though every so often (just when I think I have it sorted) - I get a nasty shank. I'm not sure what causes it - maybe its just karma for getting overconfident!
Great video again Danny. I've been taught to drop my leading foot backwards so my feet align left of target. This helps me with turning the body through the shot.
Danny thanks for your uploads. I’m currently injured and it’s an injury that occurred earlier this year. Currently seeing a physiotherapist, but as a result of my first injury I now do a pre range/round routine which I downloaded from the net. It makes a lot of difference and actually improve my rounds. Perhaps you could do a video on this subject, cheers.

It was great to see him enjoying it
Love your Dad. That putt he made was better than the lesson, how proud he was….!

Was great to help him out Kc 😁
Thanks Danny, I am working on my setup and using all your drills that you show on your channel.
