I was playing MGS3 on the switch today and remembered that I could switch cameras on the fly. It's surprising what a difference it makes. I'd already played the OG version on the PS2 years ago to completion, then played the subsistence version on the PS3, going from fixed to free is a game changer. I'm hoping the "new style" is in the style of the 3DS version, which has the best gameplay of all the versions

Kojima can just make his own version of MG if he wanted. He's already established on his own and gets assists from Sony/MS in funding in new projects. No point in making money for the company that threw him under a bus.

With what I'm seeing+ the sprint and speed of snake Phantom pain + CQC in phantom pain + Great boss battles+ a few surprises + crazy Smart enemy A.I ...Then we're all good to go.

still got my ps2 memory card with mgs3 on it and the original disc just not a functional ps2 system. Glad we get this masterpiece in next gen.

Interesting - if this does well - I can see them looking at remaking metal gear 1 and 2 for the current / next gen of consoles.. since they are a natural continuity of what was MGS 3 chronologically. Exciting times!

I'm still waiting on the remake of MGS1 from PS1 although it will be tricky as they're going to have to get a whole new cast (Except for David Hayter) and hopefully they can get their OVAs as close as to the originals...
Hope they remake MG1 and 2, the old MSX 16 bit games. They have potential.
@@Thomastm33I totally agree with you because the 16bit games gives a more clarity in the story of events from snakes first missions, his ties to big boss, his battle with Frank Jaeger's(greyfox) in the minefield and all the events leading up to the shadow moses incident and The big shell (MGS2). @@Americanbadashh ask Konami how theirs Yakuza connections can manipulate health care plans... the last i heard all of them work with Kojima , this is the main reason why Konami no longer uses the FoxEngine ... and where forced to license Unreal 5.2 ... when the main engine talent left

To be fair though, metal gear solid five didn’t have the real big boss lol so technically he was never replaced
@@nawab256 He was replaced IMO... Kojima didnt replace the japanese voice over actor so he shouldn't had replaced Hayter either. It was the same voice actor for all the snakes in the japanese dub (Big boss, solid snake, venom snake...) so yeah... he was replaced. Not only that but he didnt get to play the role of Big Boss in MGSV Ground Zeroes which was the real Big Boss.

@nawab256 no, big boss was Keifer in Ground Zeros and most of the tapes in Phantom Pain....after a while he grew on me, but Hayter is the one true Snake
6:45 Ok, this is pretty surprising that they kept this part in at all, considering they didn't need to mention it whatsoever. It remains to be seen if they are actually completely fix the master collection, but kudos for actually accepting the criticism and at least addressing them.

Ive NEVER played a Metal Gear Solid game but this does look very interesting and fun 🤔
Please start from MGS Espionage you will most definitely love the rest of them from the stories and will never forget it.
Honestly, this isn't a bad place to start. MGS 3 is a prequel, and overall start to... everything. If they keep most of the story/dialogue, then some things might not make sense, and you'll miss some references, but it's nothing you need to know. Though, that's nothing new with Kojima games. Even a lot of his fans can't follow EVERYTHING, he's done. Canonically, the Portable Ops games are next, but it might be worth going straight to Peace Walker. From there, go MGS5, MGS1, MGS2, and MGS4. The Remastered Collection has most of what's on offer, but MGS4 is a PS3 exclusive, and shows no sign on appearing on other systems.

The original game had a multiplayer mode. Most of the trailers have been around the story, but I wonder if they'll remake that too. To be honest Metal Gear Online, was kinda cool, for it's time.

I have a bad feeling about this.
Why? I usually am pretty good at when a game is giving me those "bad game" vibes (even with hyped up games), but I'm not picking that up here. Though, in this case, I'm a huge MGS fan (not a Kojima fan, there is a difference), so I might be a bit blinded by it.
@@madness1931 it because the UNREAL 5 it very buggy also it from Konami Dev so not a lot of love is going to be in it.
@@hatredforhumanity Is it really that bad? Most engines have issues, especially early on, but surely a lot of this has been sorted. I don't recall having to issues with RoboCop or Hellblade 2.
Also as for Konami, they're the publiahers. I'm sure there is a lot of passionate folks working on this remake. I'd rather someone passionate about the future of MGS, than Kojima, who's said many times that he's tired of it.

Yeah, Konami is really putting the kibosh on his name being mentioned. After years of shoehorning it into everything he's made, it's weird to hear people talk about MGS without mentioning him.
Not a single “Kojima” was found or heard in this trailer.
