    15:20-15:40:
"When you're losing weight, you're losing muscle mass.... there is no way to lose weight without losing some muscle."
It's difficult to imagine a way in which this could be charitably passed over as unintentionally phrased in a misleading way, but true in some obscure, limited sense that you really meant it. Like if I point out that I, like tens, possibly hundreds of millions, of others, have at least at some point in life deliberately shed excess fat by lifting weights more and making a few other healthy diet & lifestyle adjustments (no supplements required) and gained muscle mass & strength while dropping pants sizes in the process, maybe you could theorize that during the say, 4-months of building muscle and weighing a little less every week or two, we're actually juggling microphases of several hours at a time of cutting (during fasts) and bulking (during digestion) -- a trivial point.
Over the long term (weeks to months), shedding weight (in the form of mostly visceral fat) and adding muscle commonly occurs at the same time when exercise is increased in concert with other habit improvements, like cutting back on high-caloric snacks & sweets, some intermittent fasting, more sleep and adding daily morning walks.
This yields very consistently repeatable results: net weight loss with simultaneously obvious and measurable increases in strength and muscle mass. Over a period of at least around 8 weeks (to ensure observed changes aren't mere fluctuations in water retention and fullness) to months, depending on an indivudual's consistency and starting point body fat percentage & general health, with a mild caloric deficit, sufficient protein, hydration, sleep and essential vitamins & minerals (it doesn't really matter if your calories come more from good fats or carbs, it's still going to work), an appropriately planned routine of resistance work (particularly compound lifts like squats, lunges, deadlifts, lat pulldowns, pushups or chest press) in the 8-12 rep/set, 2-3 sets range and resting 1-3 days between workouts for any the muscles targeted is in nearly all cases going to give quite similar results:
fat stores are depleted at the same time as muscle (and bone density and depending on your age probably some connective tissue) increases. Fat can be lost quite a bit more quickly than muscle added, so for a typical, mostly sedentary middle-aged person of around for example 5'9", 170lbs, 30% body fat, in 20 weeks of applying conventional fitness advice tailored to simultaneous goals of slimming while getting stronger, can easily result in a drop of 15 lbs (net) while adding at least 2 (for some, 3 or 4+) pounds that is not fat (mostly muscle). In other words they're really cutting about a pound a week of pure fat -- that's modest: many do much better) and going from 30% to close to 20% body fat WHILE ADDING MUSCLE.
They're going to find their trousers fitting looser, they have more visible muscle definition, they're a lot stronger, and they can expect to see better heart rate, blood pressure, heart rate recovery time, energy levels, etc.
It is *easier* to lose weight fast when you're focused only on losing weight and not on building muscle, and it's *easier* to build muscle faster (within limits) if you're not in a calorie deficit, but mild calorie deficits do not prevent muscle gains; this has been demonstrated so many times, I can't believe anyone, let alone a (medical?) doctor would be trying to convince anyone that they do.
And it's not even the most healthy option to hyperfocus on just weight loss or just muscle gain. Pro body-builders do tend to cycle to maximize efficiency for specific goals but for everyone else, balance and long-term habit-building is better. Once you reach your desired body fat (somewhere in a safe range, precision measurements aren't necessary) you don't need to maintain a caloric deficit, but you need to remain active, listen to your body, eat as needed and retain good habits (sleep, nutrition, etc).
Technically, you don't even always need caloric deficit to lose fat mass as some people claim -- you're not likely ever getting 100% efficient digestion (it's going to vary depending on your diet and exercise habits), so varying amounts of calories can end up wasted.
After going off calorie restriction, you can continue adding muscle for years with resistance training and not regain the fat if you stay reasonably smart about what, how much and when you eat, and get lots of sleep and minimize stress.
And to do all that, unless you have a rare genetic disorder, you don't need any supplements other than maybe vitamin D (depending where you live and how much sunlight you can get).
I would be wary of taking advice from someone who is in the business of selling a proprietary supplement and saying strange things like "you can't lose weight without losing muscle".
(Just buy my snake oil, then you'll be fine, though.)
    It's just flat out false.

I'm so tired of doctors not being able to make up their minds on protein. Some scream that you need 130 grams per day (while not being obese!), others say you get cancer that way!
What the hell do I do as a woman who's 70 kilos and trying to build muscle?

Start with around 60-70 g of protein spread over your meals in a day. This is at least 1 g/kg of body weight. See how it makes you feel and if it is helping you for a month or two . You can increase or decrease based on that. Also speak to a nutritionist or dietician.

@ChocolateMuffin308 take measurements & picture's & start weight lifting, start with 100 grams of protein increase slowly based on results. Start weight lifting with low weight it's very good for women. You will see results & you will feel a diffrence. I personally started at 120- 135 protein & I was 135 pounds & got good results on my body recomp went from a skinny fat look to more of a toned look.

Show notes do not show what formulation of magnesium you take. .
Now you scared me. I don't want to run. I can't afford to hire a trainer.

I take a combo supplement with magnesium so that the magnesium can help some of the other nutrients. Plus I don't like the hassle of taking multiple supplements. nacproplus.com/

Really can’t believe you are complaining about this. I believe it’s her channel with her information. Figure it out…speed it up or watch in increments of your choice.
