- HOW TO REMOVE CANDLE WAX FROM CARPETS AND RUGS Presented by Bane-Clene's Chemist During a Carpet Spot and Stain Removal Training Class for Professional Carpet Cleaners at the Bane-Clene Training Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
FOR UNDYED CANDLE WAX: (0:27)
Using a pair of Bane-Clene Duckbill Napping Shears, vertically, cut the wax up into smaller pieces and then scrape up as much wax as possible.
Place a DAMP white terry cloth over the area. Warm up an iron to the medium setting. Set the hot iron onto the towel for about 30 seconds to melt the wax and absorb the wax into the towel. Repeat if necessary. CAUTION: Do not use this on wool or olefin carpet. This process can remove color.
Use Saf-T-Solv™ to remove any remaining residue.
FOR DYED CANDLE WAX: (0:44)
Punch holes in the wax with the serrated scraper side of your Carpet Shark to make it easier to break it up. (1:30)
Pry loose and scrape up as much of the hardened wax as possible with your Carpet Shark. (1:34)
Cover the remaining wax with dry towel. (1:44)
Heat spot with steaming iron to dissolve wax (usually about 1/2 minute) - do not draw entire deposit into towel. Take great care if this is wool. (1:48)
After application of heat, IMMEDIATELY apply Power Gel to hot wax deposit. (1:56)
Gently agitate with Carpet Shark to put wax into solution with the Power Gel. (2:04)
Rinse area using hot water extraction. (2:13)
Dry blot with clean towel. (2:25)
If a colored stain remains, mix equal amounts of part “A” and part “B” of Red Relief or use the Red Relief Dual Chamber Sprayer.
Apply the mixed Red Relief to the remaining colored stain (if any). (2:31)
Place a damp towel over the stained area, and heat with a hot steam iron to bleach out the stain. (2:44)
Thoroughly extract the area. (3:02)
Dry blot with a clean towel and you’re done! (3:14)
