      Sadly it all went wrong after he beat Michael Spinks in 1988.Tyson’s private life destroyed his Boxing career.The IRON MIKE nickname became SCRAP IRON MIKE when he lost to 42-1 Underdog, Buster Douglas in 1990.Tyson was never the same after that defeat.Tyson should have been one of the greatest heavyweights EVER, but he destroyed himself.The losses to Holyfield, Lewis,Williams and McBride were so sad as Tyson made the heavyweight division so exciting in the mid to late 1980s.I’ll never forget his final loss to Kevin McBride.Tyson laid out on his back, with his head resting on the bottom rope.Such a sad sight.And nowadays he doesn’t get mentioned as one of the greats like he should.Mike Tyson in his prime would have destroyed any of today’s heavyweights.Tyson in 1988 was at the height of his career.But sadly he destroyed himself.

    Check out his 22 1st round knockouts video. Also he knocked out more undefeated champions than any other champion and is still the youngest heavy weight champion in history at age 20. He was between 5ft 9in-5ft 10in. My favorite boxer of all time and I also believe that in his prime NO BOXER IN HISTORY COULD'VE BEATEN IRON MIKE! You guys should check out Roy Jones Jr. He was also one of the best to ever do it. He went 10 years without losing a single round....

      facts. people always say ali but ali would have had no room to use footwork or his speed bc mike was just as fast plus used the peek a boo style which accentuated the speed he possessed. Tyson would have forced him to fight his style and ali didn't stand a chance in thst style going up against Tyson. id say Tyson would win 7/10 bouts between them

    Mike is left handed... But the style he was trained to fight in made him stand square in front of his opponents but constantly move like a metronome. Therefore he could use both hands to guard his face defensively and both hands to throw jabs, hooks, crosses, and uppercuts.

  • @anthonywilliams9334
    @anthonywilliams9334 Год назад +2

    Mike is left handed, he was trained orthodox (tight handed), he has power in both hands but that's why his left hooks and uppercuts land so hard. He switches to southpaw with a split second foot shift as well to stay off the centerline and create new angles of attack.

    not a lot of real talk about tyson and how he uses his feet. Everyone know he hits hard, there's a lot of technique in how you generate power. A lot of power comes from your foot placement. He has this special little hop where he switches his feet and lands a monster from either hand. Most fighters keep 1 favored foot forward, he had a crazy quick ability to hop and swap and wreck you.

    This guy had all the tools and he was young enough to potentially beat Rocky Marciano's seemingly unbeatable record of 49-0 43 KOs. Sadly it was not to be. Though he was a beast in the ring, he could get distracted from his training and focus by things going on outside the ring. When he lost to Buster Douglas I didn't believe it. That was supposed to be a one or two round dismantling that most of his fights had been. When he took out Spinks, another undefeated boxer with more than 30 wins, in 91 seconds he seemed pure God mode. Then to lose to a guy like Douglas. He was unstoppable physically but emotionally he was a bit lacking.

    People say Tyson never beat anyone that was good, but keep in mind, Trevor Berbick lost to Tyson via 2nd round TKO, Larry Holmes lost to Tyson via 4th round TKO all beat the legend himself Muhammad Ali. Marvis Frazier who was managed, and trained by his dad Smokin Joe Frazier who beat Muhammad Ali was also a victim of Iron Mike Tyson. Tyson carried Holmes the whole 4 rounds to lay a Iron smackdown of revenge for Ali. Not to mention every time he hit Tyrell Biggs he said Biggs whimpered and pulled back and flinched. Then Andrew Golota after 2 founds of being punished by Iron Mike Tyson walked out of the ring and left the building. Tyson was ferocious, fearless, fast, and his raw talent was untouchable. The only person who ever beat Mike Tyson in the ring was Mike Tyson after his Mentor and father figure who adopted him Cuz D'Amato passed away. Say what you want but that was a man that had given up on life and was a former shell of himself. He has since found the passion for Boxing and Life again, but for a very long time it almost destroyed him. He would still take any fight, without training at all, and staying out the night before partying. If you see the video of his 2nd Holyfield fight when he bit his ear. He said he had been biting him for 2 fights. He pushed Holyfield afterward and put his gloves up and said come on let's go. You want a street fight you got it. He wasn't scared of him at all. He almost beat Douglas then he got up before the 10 count somehow and came back. It was a long count and the ref gave Douglas that fight. It would have been over given the right count of 10. Lewis, and Holyfield would have never beat him in his prime. His last fight he lost he laid down and gave up on said he didn't want to fight anymore. He was beating the man and gave up. Tyson was a beast and will always go down in my book at the greatest fighter to ever walk the face of the earth. The baddest man on the Planet!

      Career wise maybe not but don't give me this crap about him not beating anyone , he beat everyone in the 80s easy to say now they are not names but alot had there careers ruined after defeat, champions undefeated most of them , Tyson beat himself by getting rid of his team and letting don king destroy him and he lost like 5 years in 90s from jail and ban , I never hear the same from Tyson fury fans for example he beat Klitschko only lets be honest by dancing around and not getting into range and wilder is a joke of a boxer and whyte and Derek who are past it and weren't much I'm. Their prime even holyfield he beat Tyson once and grabbing headbutting and low blow but that's forgotten after the infamous second fight , today Mike Tyson prob retires in 89 after 38 fights in 4 years undefeated as modern boxers fight once a year and have like 30 fights.
