- Hello RUclips, in today's video, we are going to fix the Microsoft XBOX One S gaming console. What's wrong with it? It's got a broken HDMI Out port... It means you cannot play anything because you won't see anything on your big screen. Should I just buy a new gaming console like PS 5?? No.. You cannot even get one of those now. Nobody has it.. But, we will show you how to fix the HDMI port on XBOX One S!!! A full disassembly is required, but it's okay if we can fix this gaming machine! Let's go ahead and fix this XBOX One S with a broken HDMI port. Enjoy!
I'm so glad this is on youtube. I sent my One s to be repaired and not to my surprise NOTHING happened. They didn't even tamper with it, just stuck some fancy stickers on it and a receipt. I did the job myself and tbh I'm pretty proud as its my first project. I spent a $20 entry fee and $175 for nothing to happen. I paid $15 for a new port to solder. DIY it if you dont want to spend hundred for a shit job.
And you got the tools and consumables from Santa?
Same thing happened to me. I sent my xbox to get fixed and they returned it saying it was fixed and it was still doing the same thing so I sent it again and then they sent it back saying it had water damage which is not under warranty. I had only taken the xbox out once I got it back to test it and then put it back in the box to be shipped. So no way possible it got "water damage". They just didn't want to fix it. Ridiculous!

Imma leave this here for people who need it be careful when unplugging the internal power bank there is a clip clipping it to the motherboard you have to push it down to pull it out if you dont you might rip the whole plug from the motherboard!

sick beat drop. great tutorial. i would have replaced the fan, though. with that dust you know you're not getting the RPMs to cool the cpu/gpu, on an already hot running console.

Is the flux necessary? The guy I'm taking it to has a special technique for removing solder and it always works.
Flux is a must. Without it, you will fail every advanced soldering jobs

Did you end up taking out screws A1-A4 at 2:30? I cant take out the motherboard and I'm pretty sure it's because those screws are keeping the cooler attached. If the cooler does need to come off do I need thermal paste to seal it back?
Did u ever found out if those 4 screws need to be removed?
Using my hot air gun sounds scary for this job; there might be a chance that I could melt plastic due to excessive exposure.

Any kind will be all right. Soldering iron, solder, soldering wick, and microscope are required

How do you learn to this? I really wanna learn to repair consoles but my only experience soldering is some led lights on a 360 console. I basically just have videos to go off but dont want to mess anything up. Did you do any type of schooling to learn how to do this?
You can learn on the internet. There are a lot of educational information and then must practice. That is all I can tell you..

I would like to ask you to bring it to a pro. It may look easy to do it, but it is really hard to do it right for beginners.
I got one of those big heat guns with different nozzles it’s lowest temp is 750 would that work or would it be to hot

If I have a donor Xbox could I just swap the hard drive onto the other board and be good? Would I still have all my files on the repaired console?
Whatever that is saved on your hard drive will be transferred to the new system. I am not sure about the system setting.. but why don't you just give it a shot?

Typically, when you look for a soldering machine, get one that costs at least $100. Brand also matters. Hakko, Wellers, Goot soldering machines are good

@@PTITBROTHERGravenhurst it just my hdmi I accidentally dropped it on the hdmi wire and it chipped the inside of the hdmi so I think I just need a hdmi replacement or could u take off the others hdmi and replace it with the broken one bec you know how there’s two hdmi?

The metal part around where the HDMI cable sits has a little crack in it the Xbox still worked tho but know it stopped, should I just replace the port
Yeah because soon it is gonna break because the metal strings behind that bend when you plug it in every time so in about 4-6 months it might break so just replace it now.
What if it got bent and I bent it back and it works on 1 tv but no other?

Do you need the heat gun or can you use the regular soldering iron tool?
It is recommended to have both heat gun and high quality soldering iron with micro size tips. Otherwise it will be harder to replace the port.

It maybe the same or just little bit different. Basically, replacing HDMI port will be the same. I am not sure about the disassembly.

I think you need TR9 Torx, T10 Torx and Philip screwdrivers

So just to get this repaired is 150$ and to do it myself It's 100 minimum with cheap tools why can't I just solder it and rip it off why do we need to de solder and use heat guns

@@PTITBROTHERGravenhurst ok I just ordered a heat gun online bought flux and have a soldering gun so the steps
1. Apply flux to the pins
2. Solder them
3. Use heat gun until the port is off
4. Apply flux again
5. Solder again
6. Heat it up
7. Put new port in
Is that all correct I just want to make sure I don't mess it up and thank you
And you will also need a USB microscope for this. The legs are really small and there is no way for you to confirm if you did a good job or a bad job with your eyes.

I use
Hot Air Station: Aoyue 852A++ Pro
Soldering Station: Weller WES51, and variety of soldering tips
Flux: AMTECH NC-559-V2-TF no-Clean Tacky Flux
