Hi, I'm Holly! Welcome to my Hip Surgery video series. Keep in mind... I am NOT a doctor, EVERYONE is different, and this is just me sharing MY journey.
I was suffering from a pain in my right hip for more than 10 years the general physicians, rheumatologists, orthopadicians didn't know why I had this pain.. Just 2 days.back. I was diagnosed with Femoral acetabular impingement, with a labral tear. I'm waiting for a call from the ortho surgeon
Do you wear hips brace. I got surgery to fix my labrum same as yours they put 5 anchors and the shave my pincer and cam lesion. It’s been a week but my hips down to my knee still swollen and weak I can’t lift up my leg yet.
As I mentioned kind of in my videos, the pain was not too terrible in the hip itself. I only needed to ice and take medication the first 2-3 days for pain.
Thanks for sharing. Did you still get the feeling of catching in your groin sometime after your surgery? I did my surgery a week ago and I still get that catching feeling in front of my hip/groin
@@arianarp3529 no I am on crutches rn but there is pain in the groin for me still, im on day 12 rn and yea I think I will recover quicker as well im 18
@@arianarp3529 im 20 days post op now i am still not off crutches and i have to do my other leg in like 9 days, also did you ever have like a muscle spasm in your groin/labrum area, also butt pain
I just had this same operation a week ago and my doctor gave me a paper that mentioned "Sedentary job - can be back as early as 3-5 days depending on pain level, but would plan for 1-2 weeks." Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
@@MyTormented I talked to them on the phone. Surgery is now scheduled and they said they would like 2 weeks and then go back with some restrictions. I plan on taking about 11 days with vacation and days off.
@@dakicker0613 Nice, good to see you have your surgery and stuff all planned out! On a scale from 1-10 I would say the first three days were around a 8-9. I was prescribed Hydrocodone (could take every 6 hours), Meloxicam (for 30 days), Gabapentin (for 1 week) and a stool softener. I was practically taking the hydrocodone everyday for three days because the pain was really bad, like a constant pressure/aching type of pain. After the fourth day, the pain dropped surprisingly fast. I don't need to take the hydrocodone anymore, but I'm still recommended to 30 minutes before physical therapy. I'd probably give the pain a 2-3 now one week post op. I'd say you might need help for a couple days but you should be able to do everything yourself a week or so post op. I'm still not allowed to put any weight on my leg for 1 more week but I feel like I could walk on it at any moment with how little pain there is. BTW just a heads up the stool softener does help, but you might need to eat some cherries or get some prune juice on the side just to be sure because that hydrocodone really backs everything up lol
This is helping me a great deal. I’m up in Appleton and probably having this done soon, trying to do it before we get to icy season.
Holly when does the pain go away? I had surgery 3 weeks ago and my leg is still hurting but feel it healing.
