Hey guys, need some help on this shed, as I am unable to drill into the metal rods within the side panels to fit the door hinges on. There is no predilled hole in those rods. The drill bit keeps spinning but doesn't pierce through. What should I do

Is the concrete slab necessary? My backyard is similar with loose soil.

It's meant to be horizontal and damp.
I think it's necessary.

if you have a roof you can anchor it to the roof instead

Yes, but there still must be a completely level foundation under the floor panel.
