Really great video! My wife’s uncle was assigned a Company A, 1st Battalion 8th Infantry and came ashore at Utah Beach on D-Day. A special shout out to Colonel Foster who was commandant of the AG School at Fort Ben Harrison when I went through AGOBC in 1988. He put me on active duty after I was selected by the board he convened.
This was amazing for me! My father passed away in 1975 but was wounded toward the end of the Battle of the Bulge, Jan 16th in Luxembourg. I never even knew he landed at D-Day. He died of service connected wounds. I'm hoping to gather what medals he was due from his service and put together a display in his memory. Can you answer specific questions through email or chat?
Great presentation as always! My great grandfather was MG George H Cameron - the 1st commander of the division. He and his wife Nina (my g grandmother) have generally been credited as creating the first designs of the 4th ID patch... A recent book about WWI provides a lot of detail of his time in the war and the political intrigue involved in key battles. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_H._Cameron
Hi, thanks for another great video. In this , around 4:30, above the breast pocket on the Ike jacket is a diamond patch. My father has this on his jacket. Can you tell me what it is please?
The video shows four different commemorative medals, combat service, D-Day landing, Battle of the Bulge and victory in Europe. All these medals are available at Medals Of America. There is a separate video on commemorative medals that I think you will enjoy.
@@veteransmedalsworkshop-moa4376 I have a request. My FIL's WW2 unit was the 397th AT Company of the Infantry Regiment from the 100th Infantry Division. Could you help me in discovering any AARs, photos or videos and awards and decorations specifically for the AT Company of the 397th.

That was the Honorable Discharge Insignia issued to wear on the uniform after the veteran had been discharged in WW2.
