Andy, I really enjoy your videos. Your audio is perfectly clear, your advice and reasoning is spot on. I hope you keep making these for a long time to come.
I actually carry a Ping G 425 5 Wood in the bag. Now they are adjustable and I put it down to a strong 4 Wood loft. It works beautifully for me. I think 5 woods are awesome.
Nice! ~1 year ago I purchased a Stealth 5 wood and it's been absolutely transformational in my game. One thing people don't mention is how much easier it is to hit, therefore giving me confidence to take a full swing and unleash it and hit it to full capacity, whereas with my driver I am so reluctant and not very good that I tend to 3/4 swing it and it goes about the same, maybe 10 - 15 yards farther and of course OB a lot more often.
I have had so many different setups at the top have of the bag. Putter 58 54 Chipr PW 9 8 7 6 seemed to be a lock until I get to a goal or need more help hahaha. After 6 I have played so many different clubs. The one club that I thought I would never remove from the bag was my speedzone 7 wood but with a ton of work testing and luck that I found your RUclips channel I have a new top bag that has helped me so much the last few months. I have been playing a TM Stealth DHY a 9 wood 5 wood Driver with a hybrid for most of the rough I hit out of. That's the 14 in now for winter goal in California. The 5 wood TM Stealth gain in yardage has been so important. I feel I will never be a good long iron player which has lend me down this road of Avg golfing !!! Love all the help and free dialog and coaching in setup I have got from you has been priceless for me. I now have 215 and 185 answers I never had before !!!
Burnham is such a great course and stands head and shoulders above the rest in the area (especially in winter). So happy that you showcased hole 9, by far the best par 3.
I’ve played a cut down 5 wood (length of a 4 iron) for the last 25 or so years. But I also play a 13degree 3 wood by MGolf (no longer existing) called the Tour13. MGolf was a Swedish Golf company that made some amazing blades that never officially came out to the public. I was fortunate that I was involved with the organization so I needed up with two left handed sets. Same as their 14degree wood that I cut down. During all those days I played almost exclusively in Europe and if I was in the states I played in Texas.
Well played Andy. I play a 5 wood as I found it to be more consistent than a 3 wood, with a very similar distance. I’ve also chopped and changed between a 7 wood and a 4 hybrid, and have settled on the 4 hybrid. I’ve found that the 4 hybrid is a good bump & run club so I’ve removed my chipper and put the wedge back in that replaced it.
Yes Andy, my 3 wood is useless. 5 wood used to be my favorite fairway tool until I found a 7 wood. High, straight 190 yds consistently. I've loved the 7 wood so much, the 5 wood has stayed home. Must be the length of 7wood that makes it so comfortable. Im Considering shortening the 5 wood or even adding a Cobra one length 3 rescue that's already shorter than standard.
Beautiful course and better than “average” golfing in my opinion. That 5 wood shot was as good and pure as a pro could do on tour. A 5 wood is a must in my bag I use either a 18* Mavrik Max which has been incredible, or the one I had before that an Epic Flash 5 wood lofted up to 19* which I like the adjustable loft on for various courses depending on what I’ll need. Enjoy your holiday you are blessed!
TM M4 5wood...18'..favorite club, i am an average golfer and when have too much spin on driver, hitting 4,5 irons poorly..5wood is a life saver (maybe because it was the first club i ever bought because i got it for $100 brand new - used for 10 shots and...i love 5 wood... As an average golfer, begginer i don't have yardages splib by 10-15 per club so it covers utility iron, 4,5i
Andy, I play A LOT of tour and tournament golf on courses from 6,100 to 6,500 yards in length and I find myself facing lots of approaches from 165-170 to 215 yards (or more, when my driver is misbehaving-of course, it’s never me). For this reason, I carry a 16.5* 4-wood, plus both an 18* and a 21* hybrid (no 3 or 5 woods in my bag). This helps me cover every distance between 165 (choked-up 4-hybrid) to 225-230 yards (full-bore 4-wood). The reason for a 3-hybrid rather than a 5 or 7-wood in soggy winter golfing conditions with thick and juicy rough is that I find the hybrid to be much better from light to medium rough than a fairway metal.
Hi Andy, great bit of fun on a Capel family course, my grandfather was a green keeper here after the first world war and my Dad a member all his life,I moved away and hoping to play next year with my son,so 4 generations over 100 years, you never used to be able to play past the church on a Sunday, local rule!.luckily for you the wind wasn't blowing off the channel
I heard you say you were hitting a 4 iron early in the video. I've watched a few of your what's in the bag videos and I think usually your longest iron is a 5, then you go with the hybrids. Probably doing that due to weather and course conditions. I'm bringing this up because I have been going back and forth with the long clubs. My longest iron is a 5, then I go with a 4 hybrid, 5 wood, 3 wood, driver. I'm still not completely settled on that end of the bag. I'm about your age and skill level, so I'm always interested in the clubs that you're carrying. I always enjoy your content. Keep up the good work, mate.
I only started to play golf last year, went for my first fitting last week looking at a 3 hybrid and came out with the stealth 5 wood to fit a gap instead then also picked up a 4 hybrid in the stealth as i struggle with longer irons, delighted with the hybrid and just waiting on delivery for the 5 wood
Very nice course! Andy, your videos are like a fine Merlot. Love the music, videography, all of it is full bodied, smooth, and entertaining. Many kudos.
7:13 T thought this nice Gentleman is going to talk about different 5 woods but this was more of an advert for a gorgeous golf course! Merry Christmas!! 🎄🥂🎉⛳️🏌🏻♀️❤️
I just picked pick up a older Cobra five wood the F6 it's like new condition with a good shaft $60 LOL loving it on the T so far on short par fours easy to hit off the Fairway on par fives and long par fours gets right up in the air much better than a 3-iron or a two or three hybrid
I currently have a 4 wood in the bag and a 7 wood. Perfect for getting the ball up in the air which is needed in winter in the uk where the fairways have become boggy and soft. 😂
I lofted my 5W up to 20° and put a 3W fuji sshaft in it, and its a literal cheat code club. If they allowed 15 clubs in the bag, my 5W would definitely fill that spot. Unfortunately, im always having to choose between my 4i, hybrid, or 5W. It kinda sucks
Andy met you at the club. For a 9H’cap you played those holes brilliantly. Luv your videos keep it up. Come back next year and your see it n A1 condition. Hosting final Open qualifier 2023.
What’s your thought is getting rid of 3 & 5 wood and replacing them both with mini driver and 3 hybrid. I’m new to golf and hit hybrids way better then woods. Thinking mini drive off the tee box when and 3 hybrid off fairway & ruff
Nice play, Andy. Beautiful, beautiful course. I want to get over to the UK to play so badly. And by the way - I don't think any of us out here mind you celebrating the good shots, buddy! That par-3 is stroke index 17?! Wow. That's quite a course. Think I'll be moving up a couple of sets of tees, though.
@7:40 And: "maybe I should apologize, because sometimes I applaud my own shots ..." We all need to do that And, so we reinforce the good and tell our brains "Brain, that's what I want to repeat, please." ☺. Bloody good 5 wood BTW 👏
@@TheAverageGolfer you seem to have about the same distances as I...what distances are you currently covering with your 7 wood and does it do a good job from rough?
I have the cobra one length 4 hybrid that I get about 190-200, 210 if i really go for it. I’m wanting to put a 5 wood in the bag been eyeying up the cobra radspeed but they have the standard with weight in the back and the big tour with the weight in the front wish I could try both side by side but think the standard might me better for launching off the deck but then a 5 wood is more lofted so the weight in the front might not be an issue
Can anyone tell me why I can’t hit a 3 wood or 5 wood when there supposed to be easier than a driver yeah on me drive I can hit a straight draw or fade when ever I want? Everyone who watches me doesn’t understand why am so good with my driver but I can’t hit a wood what’s 19 degree😢 all my woods start straight and the slice off to the right. So in my bag I have a 11 degree driver and then a 19 degree hybrid (also can’t hit) so my gapping is terrible
Hey Mugz! Fairway woods are, for a lot of golfers, the trickiest clubs to hit consistently well, especially off the turf. For as long as they are, they have a relatively small hitting area and very little loft. So any swing/path problems are massively exposed and exaggerated in the resultant shots. The driver has an enormous head and a huge hitting area and you're teeing the ball up - odds are that with any eye/hand coordination at all a person will be able to hit the ball somewhere toward the target. As far as 3 wood and 5 wood go, I'd recommend gripping down the shaft on your fairway woods and seeing if you don't hit the ball a bit better with them. Or trying a 7-wood. Most golfers don't have enough swing speed to generate the height needed to utilize a low-lofted fairway wood to its real potential - including myself. I'm a 3-hcp, and I go from driver to 5-wood, then 7-wood. But even if you have plenty of speed, more loft in woods is usually your friend if you struggle with strike.
Andy, I really enjoy your videos. Your audio is perfectly clear, your advice and reasoning is spot on. I hope you keep making these for a long time to come.

I did the exact same thing 👍
I think driver , 4 Wood, 7 Wood is the way to go for many...then maybe a hybrid.
Don’t you mean 4 woods are awesome ?

Love my LTDx 5W, it's turning into my fairway finder on short holes.
Just got a cobra Ltdx 5w too. Incredibly easy, forgiving and straight. Much better than the ts2 and stx mizuno and the stealth imo.

Yes it was a good shot but a “pro” would have hit 6 iron from that distance.

Other than my putter my 5w is my best friend. I'm really enjoying this style of video Andy! Keep up the good content and playing well.
Great videos. Can you do a video on 7 woods. Seem to be more popular now. Just got a PxG 0311 XF and need as much help as I can get with this club

I think keeping it going for 18 holes is always the issue! It’s why I like 3 hole challenges

🤔Got a solution for the distances on this course. Play the forward tees !😄
Cracking Course. Brutal when the wind gets up.
5W are great - Burnham and Berrow looked great, love the par 3
You've got a UST Mamiya Proforce V2 shaft in there And. Nice shafts.

A five and a seven for for my very average game. I found some great winter balls. Encore golf balls. 55 compression.
Like the new content Andy. Giving me some bucket list courses to visit. Keep up the good work 👏

I was shocked when I saw stroke 17!!
You crushed that 5! That course looks amazing.
So pleased!
Hey Andy, great video! What shoes are you wearing there?
Sure looks like a dream course to test a golf game.
I carry a 5 wood and whilst I'm not long with it as a second shot on long par 4s it gets me close enough to chip and make boggy or even par
Great stuff Andy, really enjoy the content.
Thank you 🙏
What are you thoughts on the cleveland hy wood against a 5 wood a few weeks ago I thought the cleveland was a easy to hit club
Did you get a discount for the review etc etc?
the background music is fantastic
NewTSR 5 wood arrived yesterday 😊
Fantastic looking course...
What's the green fee.
I think this time of year £75 but you should check that

5w or 3h? I've used a 19⁰ 3h for the last 1.5 years and have really liked its versatility.
For me the 5 wood is far longer than a 3 hybrid 👍
Last year when I got fit for clubs I replaced my 3 wood with a 5 wood. Best decision I have made. Next up is a 7 wood!
Yep me to and I added the 7 wood this year
@@TheAverageGolfer you seem to have about the same distances as I...what distances are you currently covering with your 7 wood and does it do a good job from rough?
