Welcome to a warmer place that it might seem at first glance haha. I think heavy music in general is just a way to channel the pain and frustration that a lot of artists feel. But the lyrics and purpose of the songs are usually very wholesome, although some explore more extreme themes where you might need an interview with the band to fully understand it if you are new.

A suggestion for Disturbed would be their song the animal, fantastic song. For metal that will blow you away pretty much anything by Ayreon but probably the most popular Ayreon song is "the day when the world breaks down." It would be interesting to hear your response to some of the more extreme metal bands but since you are just dipping your toes in the pool, better not to drown you off the bat.

Hi MommaRaunT, first of all let me tell you: you're never too young or too old to discover good music. Imagine how many artists there are in the world, how many different styles of music. As long as you are open to new experiences you'll never get tired of listening to music you haven't heard of yet.
Though I really like Disturbed this cover doesn't quite do it for me. The original in combination with the highly sarcastic and ironic video from Genesis with the masks from Spitting Images is still a benchmark for me. Maybe I'm too much stuck in the eighties to appreciate this version.
If your musical background is more in the realm of jazz, may I interest you to look into "Postmodern Jukebox"? They're doing covers of famous songs in a very peculiar style which might be right up your alley. You don't necessarily have to do them on your channel - just do it for your own pleasure. If you know the original from Radiohead I'd recommend you start with their version of "Creep" feat. Haley Reinhart. I even dare to promise you, you won't regret it. The links are down below.

what you will find with metal is it will coney emotion a lot better than other music, it will drag you in and make you feel as strongly as the singer, especially disturbed.
a lot of people do see metal as noise, but that is only cos they don't sit and listen to the complexity of the composition, I like that you do and hopefully this was a good introduction to what metal is really like.
I would advise "stricken" and "inside the fire" from disturbed. however inside the fire is... difficult for its subject matter
