I had a small issue with the climax. I felt that when the characters finally ate pizza and found peace, it was a bit underwhelming as a climax. It provided some closure, but not much more than that. I wish there had been a more significant climax, but I'm still happy with how it ended. I would rate it a solid three out of five.
Just be happy that it ended.

I know I'm late, but my issue with it is that it didn't really feel "quiet". With it being the first day of the invasion, it makes sense that people don't really know the "rules" of the monsters but for me it removed some of the tension the first two had. During the first two I was afraid of making a single sound, during this one people were slurping their drinks and it didn't really matter🤷🏿♂️

Trust me it’s a REALLY good movie it has lots of moments where you don’t know if their going to live or die and it gives you a feeling that your in the movie
If you’re a fan of the first two movies you’ll give this movie 0 stars. The movie was terrible. It’s about a sick woman on her side quest to get pizza. The movie does not explain anything about the origins of the aliens and the story has no direction.

@@ThisIsAHandle-xz5yo yeah the message is as subtle as a bulldozer dude. There's nothing clever nor novel about "subverting expectations" or having a "deep message". The title of the movie is literally Day One. Colour me unreasonable to expect a movie about what an actual day one of an alien invasion would be, not some cancer patient's random side quest.
