I was abt to say, you could make the arguement it was a prey/fear response. The cat recognizes there is a VERY dangerous predator around and like most prey would prefer to keep quiet and lay low, especially if the other family members (owners) are radiating fear and adrenaline 24/7
Cats can really have personalities. Some cats definitely have reactions like yours, some are in the middle, and then there’s few cats like one I use to have and she never made a peep. I had her for 4 years and heard her meow maybe 5 times
The monsters beat the military by shear plot armor. Like unless they do something we’re the monsters are revealed to have like a stronger bigger variant that isn’t affected by sound there’s no reason for the military to lose. The military discovered that they hunt by sound day 1. They would instantly start testing different sound frequencies to see what the monster are able to hear and if anything hurts them.
I remember seeing it in theaters and NO ONE would so much as eat their popcorn, you could hear a pin drop the entire movie, never had that experience in a horror movie
I've got a "kitten" she's almost a year old now. But I've had her since she was born. She had no mother. She trusted me enough to give her bathes and never made a singular meow. I also just grabbed and squeezed her. She was vibing with it. 10/10 temperament
Charlie would be even more surprised to know that the cat in the movie was actually played by two kitties! Their names are Nico and Schnitzel. And considering his experience with his cat, I can only say that cats have surprisingly different personalities. I also got two cats. One enjoys being held and lays down in my arms. The other one only does it as long as he needs to and jumps down to the closest furniture it sees. One is super active and loves playing. The other is just lazy and sleeps all day. lol
The monsters have always kinda confused me. They are themselves in no way quiet when they rampage after a sound. You would think they would constantly attract attention to each other endlessly.
@@hetsu_just find it hard to believe you could step on glass and piss one off but if it launches its gigantic ass through a window that shatters into a million loud ass pieces that can be hear a mile away, nothing comes to check it out.
Thats really depends on their personality. And even more how you interact with your cat. I've had 6 cats to this day, and I talked to them from the day they were born. In a calm soft high-pitched voice and when I do that they meowing back.
Charlie, cats actually have a very good internal compass, and they make a map in their head pretty quickly so they can find their way back ‘home’ wherever that is.
4:16 animals often in nature quiet down when a predator is nearby and the cat likely knew the Death Angels are predators and instinctively stopped making noise to save it and its owner from being attacked. Also the cat was a service animal so that’s probably why it’s so well behaved when hugged.

in a time where media is shit seeing something good like quiet place day one is truly a treat (edit: I am not saying all new stuff is bad I am just saying it’s more common than ever nowadays)
I can believe a cat is quiet, my cat is completely quiet, only meows when he wants something, but if I hold him he tries to get off if he doesn’t want to, doesn’t meow, I tried giving him a bath once, he clawed the shit out of me but didn’t make any noise.
Two ideas that I have about how militaries were beaten is that either one the aliens reproduce incredibly fast that there are just too many or that their ability to disrupt electricity is amplified when they are in large pockets and it made it nearly impossible to get a lot of weaponry near them
Since the first A Quiet Place, it was established that these things relatively indestructible until A Quiet Place 2 where an ear-piercing ringing noise stuns and exposes their fleshiest bit, which can be shot to kill them.
Nah the Militaries will never lose to these monsters. Remember that they found out their weakness and that they can't really swim. That means they just decided to re-locate probably in the middle of the Ocean or an ISLAND and decided to find countermeasures to quickly eradicate these aliens. The Aliens aren't some Deus Ex Machine bullsh1t where they have insane amount of intelligence or can rapidly evolve to the point that they could fly and swim at insane speeds. They are basically just wild animals at this point.
I just don’t buy how any global military with satellite communications, submarines, battleships, claymore mines, and drones would ever lose to basically animals. We have armor piercing rounds fired from battleships that can cut through any living thing I don’t care where they’re from.
4:51 I actually had a cat who was given away to another family and then ran away and WALKED HOME FROM A WHOLE 'NOTHER HOUSE in like a few days. We kept her after that. I think this is just a thing cats do.
@@maxwellav idk, i never seen the movies but from the clips ive seen extremely loud noises just straight up drive them away before they have a chance to destroy it
You would be surprised how realistic it is with some cats in terms of the cat always finding everyone and being omniscient. Cats really do be like that sometimes, you just only really know it if you have come across a cat like that in the real world before
I am grateful to have found Charlie’s channel at a time in my life when I’ve had to separate myself from my friends to live a good life. Dude makes it feel like you’re just hanging out with your homeboy and he’s talking directly to you which is tight man it helps.
The reason why the movie doesn't explain how the monsters beat humanity is because it can't. Those monsters could never realistically beat humanity with all our weapons. Roanoke did a video on these and kind of broke down how they would just get obliterated by us but the very fact that they can't swim and will chase any sound like a rabid dog means all you have to do is hang a speaker over a lake to kill them in huge quantities, they are stupidly easy to beat and thus there is no reasonable explanation as to how they could possibly beat us. Don't expect it to ever get explained.
@@jevonmccrary6663 That actually makes the problem worse, because the writers are acknowledging that the monsters should have all died already. At least they're SLIGHTLY less stupid than the aliens in Signs... "You know that 'humidity' exists, right?"
Not to spoil anything but a scene in the movie shows them restraining from attacking sound coming from a body of water, but idk the monsters have attacked in water before so maybe it’s based on how they’re feeling at that moment lol
Also my big gripe with the franchise is that they know not to harm water. Humanity could just get a bunch of speakers and play rain storm sounds, amd the monster is basically countered
Charlie watching bad movies reminds me of that one meme with the otter eating a melon. He doesnt like it, wont stop eating. On the contrary, him enjoying a movie is neat!
to be fair, my moms cat who’s a couple years old now, has never made a peep in his life. he is the most silent creature. even when startled, not a single hiss, meow, nothing. it’s rare but some cats are just kinda like that
Watch them being Eric into the third quiet place movie just to kill him off and play it off as a very heroic sacrafice that satisfyingly concludes his story arc or something like that
Cat showed up during the winter last year and the meows swayed me so I adopted her and she LOVES being hugged so idk I guess the cat distribution system is chaotic.
This film answers the age ole question of weather 10 car alarms is louder than one kicked can. Also that has to be the chillest fucking cat on the planet.
I've just seen this movie and nothing prepares you for this. I cheered, I shouted, I fist pumped the air, I cried, I stood and cheered. It's absolutely everything you hoped it was going to be. I'm so proud of the cast in it and I can't wait for you all to see it.
I saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it. I normally don't watch horror/thriller films, but I really enjoyed all three of these A Quiet Place movies. They're the type of movies that stay with you for a long time after you've watched them.
I do think the trilogy is great, but in all honesty, if executed correctly there could still be a couple more movies. I think one taking place in the future when the kids are all grown up and being similar to the last of us in terms of how society is nowhere near fully healed but there's some level of order established with different "clans" or what not. Would be sick to see if the villains perhaps were a society that managed to almost harness the aliens and use them as weapons (sparingly and realistically of course. rangling up just one of us those things would be hard asl) And the second being the beginning again but from the perspective of a soldier to really dive more deeply into how the military responded.
Just having finished watching this movie, it baffles me that no one (including Charlie) is complaining about the big fat pink elephant in the room... This is supposed to be a ORIGIN story of how the monsters came to be and focus much more on the monsters, but instead it sets the focus on the cancer woman and her newfound friend, Eric. The monsters were stupidly chasing helicopters over half of the movie and weren't nearly as ferocious or dangerous as in the previous two movies.
Hey Charlie I'll u this about my cat I had in my teens... KC was an "outside" car, he would come in and sleep inside every night but came and went as he pleased through the day. We brought him on a short trip to visit someone in Philly (2 hour drive from home) and KC got out unintentionally and didnt come back after staying an extra day to look and wait for him, THIS IS IN PHILLY btw lol. Well a month later while we were back home and missing him.... KC walks through the doggy door like nothing had happened. So don't know if he was a genius, but I can say that cats with outdoor experience definitely have GPS instinct or something. Great work as always sir
@UTubeTroIIPoIiceNWO I know right? Are RUclips troll police emotionally satisfied? Cause I REALLY wanna sign up. I don't need my wife and son who make me happy. Hell, I'll sign them up too
Just got home from seeing it, was very happy! Also just love how these films aren’t focused on the ‘horror’ aspect, it’s about the characters and their humanity. Super creative trilogy, and Lupita is a fantastic actress. Solid 8/10
There's one thing about the Quiet Place lore that always stuck out to me. I get it would be toilet humor, but you have to imagine that some people died, not because they had an issue with not making any verbal noise, but because they couldn't control their flatulence.
I would've liked them to put some more effort into showing how they figured out you have to be quiet, as them having the main character wake up and everybody already knows to be quiet just made it feel like part 1 and 2. We've already seen this, characters going from Point A to Point B but quietly. I wanted to see the chaos of an entire city screaming and running away when that's the one thing they shouldn't do. I want to see how they slowly learned how to survive. Still though, the genius in having a near silent horror movie is insanely difficult to top. There's nothing quite like an entire theatre holding their breath in suspense because no one wants to make a sound.
exactly, i was disappointed when she was just knocked out and told what not to do. more time could've been spent on that.. otherwise i thought it was a super fun watch and really enjoyed it
3:50 Ig everyone’s cat is different cus my cat doesn’t make much noise, the only time she does is just show she’s annoyed at something or if she misses me when I get home, other than that not a peep
i think the science behind the monsters being able to hear one thing and not some others is that their hyper sensitive hearing would probably make something soft like breathing be drowned out by all the other background noise they would hear, think of it like trying to see text in tv static
My problem with the series is the bulletproof nature of the aliens. It's just stupidly overpowered. Small arms? Why not. Heavier weapons? If a rifle can shoot through a tank, it can shoot through an alien. Bombs? They would damage the thing's internals.
I saw the movie last night - my favorite part of it was the imagery at the beginning where the skyline of new york was in the background of a graveyard - it gave me chills
Some cats are just really quiet. My cat was raised from a kitten with nobody around it except humans and it eventually stopped meowing basically at all. Eventually another younger cat was introduced and he started meowing again since whenever the young one did it we would pet him.
Somewhere in the movie the cat is mentioned to be a service cat, which is why the mc is constantly hugging her and why the cat is so well behaved, it's a service cat

@@Zukuzash1 my god you’ve done it
I was abt to say, you could make the arguement it was a prey/fear response. The cat recognizes there is a VERY dangerous predator around and like most prey would prefer to keep quiet and lay low, especially if the other family members (owners) are radiating fear and adrenaline 24/7
Those things give you brain parasites.
Also- in the movie, the cat is a trained emotional support cat
Cats can really have personalities. Some cats definitely have reactions like yours, some are in the middle, and then there’s few cats like one I use to have and she never made a peep. I had her for 4 years and heard her meow maybe 5 times
The franchise is batting 3 for 3, I liked Day one, Lupita, and Joseph did an Amazing job and having Djimon Hounsou return was dope
Till this day, I still feel A Quiet Place 2 Day 1 opening scene is one of the best sequences in a horror movie ever.

Cant think of another movie where a cat played such a pivotal part - Frodo is forever goated
The other is just lazy and sleeps all day. lol
the ending stuck with me with how it was shot. the song was a banger too. another one was the crowd and the mf on the wall scene too. fucking subtle
what u mean by mf on the wall scene?
The monsters have always kinda confused me. They are themselves in no way quiet when they rampage after a sound. You would think they would constantly attract attention to each other endlessly.
well they can detect when something is just nature sound so why wouldn't they detect if the sound is from their own kind
maybe they give off some frequency that tells the others where they are so they don't get confused by the noises they make idk

I can believe a cat is quiet, my cat is completely quiet, only meows when he wants something, but if I hold him he tries to get off if he doesn’t want to, doesn’t meow, I tried giving him a bath once, he clawed the shit out of me but didn’t make any noise.
Trying to pause the vid as he gets done saying his outro but right before auto-play kicks in is a real-life QTE, I swear.
Thats what I love about a Quite place it makes you feel immersed into its world like you are part of the movie itself
Every time someone went for the popcorn or sipped their drink in the theater you could feel everyone shudder.

thst can actually be explained:
they have an excellent sense of smell, and are extremely good hunters.
4:51 I actually had a cat who was given away to another family and then ran away and WALKED HOME FROM A WHOLE 'NOTHER HOUSE in like a few days. We kept her after that. I think this is just a thing cats do.
That fake out was more scary then a quiet place day one
In real life they would just have speakers throughout the city playing loud noises to overwhelm the monster's ears
I was thinking about that, but the monsters destroy whatever makes sound, so the speakers wouldn’t serve much use for long.

You would be surprised how realistic it is with some cats in terms of the cat always finding everyone and being omniscient. Cats really do be like that sometimes, you just only really know it if you have come across a cat like that in the real world before
I really love the connection both main characters had with the cat. As a cat person it was really nice to see :)
I bet you in the new one they’ll inevitably evolve to swim, or not be so rabid toward sounds (the one that’s coming after this one)
A fellow Roanoke fan I never thought I'd see the day. Dude is goated and I love his takes

1:02 I hadn't even thought about that. If I was in that world, this is what would have taken me out for sure
I do think the trilogy is great, but in all honesty, if executed correctly there could still be a couple more movies. I think one taking place in the future when the kids are all grown up and being similar to the last of us in terms of how society is nowhere near fully healed but there's some level of order established with different "clans" or what not. Would be sick to see if the villains perhaps were a society that managed to almost harness the aliens and use them as weapons (sparingly and realistically of course. rangling up just one of us those things would be hard asl)
And the second being the beginning again but from the perspective of a soldier to really dive more deeply into how the military responded.
Yeah, same here. I found it pretty weak. Was more of a drama movie about the two characters.

Well a month later while we were back home and missing him.... KC walks through the doggy door like nothing had happened. Anyways agreed
There's nothing quite like an entire theatre holding their breath in suspense because no one wants to make a sound.

i think the science behind the monsters being able to hear one thing and not some others is that their hyper sensitive hearing would probably make something soft like breathing be drowned out by all the other background noise they would hear, think of it like trying to see text in tv static
My problem with the series is the bulletproof nature of the aliens. It's just stupidly overpowered. Small arms? Why not. Heavier weapons? If a rifle can shoot through a tank, it can shoot through an alien. Bombs? They would damage the thing's internals.
Cats realistically are smart as hell especially if they're outdoor cat haha they recognize fear and danger which is wild
