    First, thanks for watching!
    Just wanted to do a little video for "what's in the box" segment. Gives you an idea of what to expect when you order these items.
    Second, let's get right to the meat, the Giveaway. (GIVEAWAY IS HAS ENDED)
    I've started my channel with the purpose of sharing tech, tool and of course flashlight info with any and all of my contractor and DIYr friends out there.
    In celebration of my birthday coming up on August 1st, I'm giving away these 2 flashlights in this video. I've received many gifts in my life and this is a way for me to give back and to shamelessly plug my channel. And yes, giving away both flashlights with their chargers...you will get the items shown in the video, the boxes will have been opened. The batteries will have been charged but the items have less than 10 minutes of use each.
    As you can see, the channel is new and in need of subscribers. So, to enter, "all you need to do is":
    1) Subscribe to this channel
    2) Hit that Like button
    3) Leave a comment for which flashlight you want to win and why
    All three please...
    You can put down that you want to win both, but each flashlight will go to a separate winner, so put down which you would prefer.
    It is my goal to serve all contractors with useful information. So, if you have any tools, cool tech, phones, computers, tablets or anything construction related that you want more information about or a review done, from a contractor point of view, throw that in the comments as well.
    THE GIVEAWAY HAS BEEN COMPLETED!
    Thanks again for watching, the drawing will be heald on August 1, 2018. Winners will be revealed on my Instagram page at 3pm PST, so you might want to give that a follow as well. / contractorspov
    Until next time, keep it safe.
    In case you don't want to wait for the giveaway or you just want to have 5 of these like I do, here are some links for purchase from Amazon.

    I would love the Tac version. I've worked security for 10 years and have gotten used to certain features on flashlights. The Tac seems to have them all covered and then some. The strike bezel is great for knocking on doors, momentary activation is an underrated feature that a lot of new digital flashlights are getting away from. This thing is a beast.

    PD35 V2 sounds awesome for me. Work in the medical field and travel through some sketchy areas. Also could serve as a defensive light. The V2 function is preferable to my usage.

    Which one is better? I have the tactical one and was wondering if I should get the 2.0

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  5 лет назад

      De major difference is how they come set up from the factory. They both have a maximum output of 1000 lumens. The major difference is the distance of the throw and how they operate out of the box. The throw: 656 ft for the PD35 TAC and 820 ft for the PD35 V2.0. The TAC turns on in 'Turbo' mode right out of the box, in other words, full bright. The V2.0 comes on at lowest output level out of the box. It can adjust up and down, out of the box. The TAC can do the same thing, but you have to program it (Follow the directions) for it to be adjustable.

      I'm shopping for a replacement for my old beloved and daily abused PD30. I'm looking at the PD35TAC. I have put that old light through hell for almost 10 years. It still turns on, but it took a 10 ft fall to concrete 1 too many times and the lens on the LED has fallen out and there seems to be no way to disassemble the head. (Still waiting to hear from warranty service) I will tell anyone that is looking for a light like this, Fenix is the way to go!

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  5 лет назад

      @@fixitman21 Agreed, Fenix does it right. The PD35 TAC comes out of the box set to go to the highest output when turned on. You can change the programming to make it have the steps, but I liked the steps on the PD35 V2.0 better out of the box. Definitely a personal preference thing though.

      If you want to have full brightness every time you turn it on with the option to change the brightness with a few strategic button presses, get the TAC. If you want fully adjustable out of the box get the other. They are both user friendly and bright. But one is adjustable without programming.

    Does the turbo feature actually stay on for over 2 hours without overheating

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  5 лет назад +1

      Sorry for the delayed reply. I had to order a new one and test it. The short answer is no, turbo does not stay on for 2 hours straight. It does not overheat, but instead, does like similar lights and starts to dim the output. The results of my tests were as follows: Fully charged 2 18650 batteries and also 1 set of CR123A batteries for the tests. On Turbo, after 15 minutes each time, the light seemed to make a step down in output. It wouldn't be noticeable if it hadn't adjusted quickly. Then it gradually decreased brightness from there. At about 30 minutes its output was about the same as a 600 lumen light that I have. At 50 minutes it was around 350 lumen. Again, just comparing to another light with that output. When it got to the 2 hour mark each time, it was still putting out at least 150 lumen +/-. I hope that answers your question.

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  5 лет назад +1

      Something else I forgot to add, when left on continuous, starting with Turbo and letting it run until it dies, my 2 tests took over 12 hours. If you started with a lower setting, this thing would last you days...again, on continuous.

      Thanks for your response. Which PD35 would you choose, the Tac or the V2 ?

    • @LordGandor3
      @LordGandor3 5 лет назад

      I have the Tactical version but I don't use the tactical option because it's simple enough to hold down the side switch if I ever wanted to use the strobe. If you had to choose between the Tac & the V2 which one & why? Since the V2 has a longer throw is there much of a drop off in spread ?

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  5 лет назад

      @@LordGandor3 I will be writing them an email to ask them a question, and that is - how they determine throw? The difference between the 2 shows on paper about 50 meters, or 164 feet. That seems like quite a difference to me, but the spread seems the same to me up close. What I mean is, if I shine them both at a fence 100 feet away, the spots look similar. As for my preference, I like the battery indicator on the V2.0, but when you are in a hurry, the selector button on the side is not easy to locate quickly, but I have the same issue the the TAC also. And I prefer to start with the light on its brightest setting vs. lowest, and the TAC lets me do that. It's really a toss up.
