Good luck Brain, I understand when you become good at what you do and practically repair a vechicle with your eyes closed one must seek more knowledge in our industry just wait until you get into evehicles. My best for you.
I may no longer be a full time technician but I can say that when I moved from automotive to diesel equipment it was the best change for me during that phase of my professional life. Best of luck!
@@HowtoAutomotive I found diesel technicians to be some of the best techs I ever worked with. I'm sure with your many years in automotive that you'll hit the ground running 🏃
Best of luck man , although luck has very little to do with it. I feel you about the stagnant feeling. What brand or company are you going with ? My biggest concern about a move line this is that our bodies aren’t getting any younger man. Scary to think about going bigger , heavier in that regard 😓. Best wishes nevertheless. You’ll be fine now matter what. The industry is hurting BADLY for good techs like yourself. I admire your courage. Imma just try to crawl across the finish line for the next 11-13 years 🤞🏽- God willing 🙏🏽
Good luck! I have been in fleet life for 35 years and like it. Been fortunate everywhere I’ve been they like their stuff fixed, no short cuts. Sticking to the basics on how stuff works goes a long way when working a board range of stuff.
A former employer once told me that what could have been the most embarrassing moment of his life was one day pulling in to the parking lot of his previous employer. good thing nobody saw him.
I am in a similar situation with my shop I have been working at for 11 years. I have been contemplating on what to do and you’re right it is very scary. You have encouraged me to see what opportunities are out there for me. Thank you so much and I wish you the best at your new shop!
The industry sucks every time I get out i end up getting dragged back in, I like the shop im at been there a year and a half now but as soon as i cant pay my bills or im disrespected i bounce.
Good luck with your new adventure. The only way I found to actually get a decent wage increase is to move every few years. 21 years should've meant something to your boss but apparently not. The industry wonders why there's a lack of ppl coming into the field. Have a happy new year!
I'm surprised you're not doing RUclips full-time (work / record content at home). With your subscriber base, view count, product reviews... I would have sworn you'd be at that point now. Wish you all the best at the new location... but it's time for us old-timers to work less! =)
I’ve been with you for a while and I just moved from a dealership to a smaller shop but I’m not sure how I feel about it I’m making more money but the shop owner is kinda a trip and I think it is making my home life difficult because I’m always tired and grumpy
yes.
Thank you!
You’ll love heavy equipment and class 8 truck ls!
I wish you luck in your new chapter of learning. Thanks! John.
Good luck with the new job!

That’s awesome! Same for me best decision ever!
Thank you brother, grateful to find this video. The timing is better than you know for your words, I appreciate it
Glad you like the video. What's Going on with you?
The shop I’m at is not what I need it to be ya know? Not enough work or benefits to being at this spot.

Hows it going with the new job?
I also just changed my 13 years job
The new job is going really well. I will do video soon just getting settled in. Was it a good move for you to make the switch?

I wish ,I could do the same. Stuck in pay chack to pay check race.
I know it’s not always easy to make a move. But definitely keep your eyes open.
