Iranian major general of Islamic revolutionary guard corps, Mohammad Bagheri, hosted Russian Security Council secretary Sergei Shoigu in Tehran, Iran, on Monday (August 5), discussing potential cooperation on regional issues. Shoigu was Russia's defense minister before being moved to the security council in May. His visit was prompted by an invitation from Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
