The only way I could think of is to grab each loop (ending at the pole), change the axis of the loop to 0,0,0, and rotating the loop to the open position. It is tedious so you can simplify it by creating a script for the repeated operations and/or simplifying the sphere with less segments.
Wow, that's awesome. I've never used that before but its good to know about. Can you make a video going over the morph modes, specifically relative and tangential (area)?
Very cool Posemorph tip! Can anyone explain how he perfectly moved the points to the open (wedge looking) position? All the solutions I'm thinking of are pretty kludgy.
QUESTION: I want to random or sequentially iterate the letters of the alphabet as a field passess through a clone gride array. I also would like to be able to have control over what letter the effected clone rest/finishes on when passed by the field. The modified clones needs to spell a word after the field modified clone animation passes. characters THEORY Cloner grid array each clone is a random letter, when a sphere field fall off moves over the letters, the fall off strength iterates the letters sequentially from A - Z . With a decay or a delay as the spherical field passess .
Thanks Jonas, still learning things every day in this software :)
Quick and helpful information! Thanks a lot!
Great tip for animating eye lids. Thank you.
Fantastic tip!!! Enlightening as allways!!! Thanks so much, dear Jonas!!! 😍😍😍
Great quick tip, love this!
Great stuff!
Genau, was ich gesucht habe. Danke Jonas!
Awesome!
Would be great to have the eye-close example at the end as a full tutorial, including modelling the eye area
How did you create the base shape based on a sphere like in the video?
a circle spline and a half circle spline inside an sweep. play around with the growth of the sweep
but, ok, it does not move the points of the mesh :-/
a plane, a bend deformer and a sherical deforemer???
or a better sphere base object, we will get in the next release 🙂

How would you collapse the points in a roatational way? Would be great to know how to do that.

okaaay... i never seen this before :O
